Tess ripped her eyes open and leaned up from the bed. The tingles all over her skin reminded her she had dived into flesh-eating worms to get the fragment. Did she get it?
The beds in the dimly lit infirmary had not focused through her eyes and tingles over her skin weren't a concern. The fact that she was breathing meant she had healed. The fragment was the only thing worth thinking about, but she didn't know if she got it.
