Meeting with the Iron Bank

After killing their leader the 500 people all bow their heads towards Thornir since the rumors about him being gifted with tremendous strength and abilities are true.

Normally they wouldn't bow their heads to anyone but to one chosen by the gods they would naturally do it in order to not anger them.

And since they accepted him as their King, Thornir had them join the city as its new resident's and within a week started giving out individual jobs to them, so they could contribute to the growth of the city.

Most of the 500 people were fishermen so Thornir gave them a few boats to start fishing in the nearby sea as right now he only has a few fishermen which wasn't enough to support his growing city. He gave them fishermen nets made from rope and showed them how to use it.

And within two weeks the food supply almost doubled making them not need to rely too much on merchants.

The amount of fish collected was more than enough to support over 8k people. For now food was distributed equally among the people so that everybody ate and nobody ever starved. Which was one of their problems solved.

And as the weeks went by eventually 2 months had passed and the diplomat from the Iron Bank had arrived at the port of Hardhone.

Much to his surprise the city looked relatively good, and he could tell that the people were enjoying themselves.

But obviously it was nothing compared to a city in Essos or even in Westeros and probably never will be is what the envoy was thinking as he walked through the city to the Keep.

He had heard that the Keep is where the supposed King beyond the wall stays from, so he made his way to the entrance of the keep by walking through a protected path that led from the small City to the Keep since the elevator was off limits to foreigners

The path was well protected as Free Folk guards patrolled around the path making sure no wild animals or hostile free folk attack any person walking on the path.

The Iron Back Envoy had walked past two of these guards who didn't pay him any attention nor asked him any question of where he was going.

This was because they had seen many foreign merchants well-dressed going to the Keep to meet with their King, so they didn't bother asking anyone questions unless they looked highly suspicious.

The walk to the Keep didn't take long and after a few minutes the Envoy had arrived in front of the gates where a couple of guards were stationed. Next to the guards were a standing torch which helped with the cold weather to keep them warm.

Upon seeing somebody approaching they raised their hands signaling the person to stop.

"What is your business here" Asked one of the Guards

The Envoy responded "I'm from the Iron Bank here to meet with the King Beyond the wall to discuss something that will be beneficial to his city"

Hearing this the two guards looked at each other before one of them went inside the Keep for a couple of minutes.

A few minutes later the guard returned, and the Envoy was taken inside the Keep where he was escorted throughout the halls of the Keep which seemed empty.

After a couple seconds of walking they finally arrived at the Throne room which the Envoy could barely describe as a Throne room since there was nothing special about it from the rest of the Keep.

He was even beginning to question why the Iron Bank was interested in this new city which would give them no profit whatsoever.

A few seconds later Thornir comes into the Throne room and sits down on his Throne. He had just got done training, so he was a little tired and wanted to take a bath and rest, but now he is meeting with a very special guest.

Seeing Thornir come in and take a seat on the Throne the Envoy took a slight bow to show his respect.

Thornir waved his hand before he spoke "Let's forget all the formalities for today since I'm tired and just get right to the reason for your visit today"

Hearing this the Envoy was glad since he didn't want to spend that much time in this city anyway.

"The Iron back would like to invest in this town by hiring blacksmiths and other professional people to come here and teach your people how to do certain things such as forging weapon's, making clothes, crafting tools, etc" Said the Envoy

"And what do they want in return since this town is relatively new and money doesn't just come out of the ground" said Thornir since obviously this deal wasn't for free.

"All the Iron Bank wants in return is a 30% cut of all the profits earned from trading and 20% of any new mines found in these lands which include Iron, and such" Stated the Envoy

Thornir was too tired to hear the amount of bullshit coming out of this man's mouth at this moment. They were asking for more than they were offering. This was obviously very disrespectful since they thought that they could just try and gain tremendous profit's out of his Kingdom and that wasn't even much of an investment.

Maybe if Thornir didn't have a second way to improve his city then he might have considered the offer but in the end he probably would have ended up rejecting it anyway.

And this is not the first time something like this has happened where foreigners have tried to exploit him into making a profit and every time he has rejected but none have made an offer like this where only one side benefits while his people will be used.

But Thornir was way too tired to lose his cool, so he simply stood up and looked at the guards before walking to the exit of the Throne room.

The Guards seeing the look on Thornir's face were surprised since this was the first time they have seen him look so serious.

And they knew what that look was for. It meant that his offer was rejected so get this trash out of my Throne room. Is what some of the Guards imagined Thornir thinking in his head.

The Envoy was confused since all of a sudden he was being escorted out of the keep by two guards who looked like they would kill him if he tried to resist.

So he remained calm until they got to the gate of the keep where he was informed that his offer was rejected and to never come back here again.

The Envoy walked back to his ship in anger because of how rude this King was. Usually Kings would be drooling at the feet of the Iron Bank, but this King just rejected their offer and threw him out.

The Envoy hurried back to his ship as he left the port to inform the Iron Bank what happened.

Meanwhile, Thornir was taking a nice relaxing bath in his Keep after the meeting. As King, he was not alone as he had people who would wash him in there with him. Not saying that he couldn't do it himself but who would want to when you can have 4 ladies do it for you.
