Chapter 18 Gawain

" Ah, it is so boring, Gawain. Why do we even have to go there? If it wasn't damn father of mine, I wouldn't become a royal knight. You think the same right."

The young knight complained with a bored tone while sitting on his saddle like it was nothing. His extraordinary riding skill could be seen in such movement and he didn't show any sign of struggle.

" Shut up, Tristan. It isn't like we have a choice either. Our heads might roll on the cold stone if the king heard your words."

Gawain rubbed his temple with stress, only to feel annoyed by his friend who was constantly nagging him. First, he nagged about food, then women, then king, and now this. He was sick of his friend who couldn't just get enough of himself.

" But look. We are both extraordinary knights who could probably defeat those old bags. Heck, our one punch could knock them out cold in the streets, yet we are being ordered around like some junior knights."

Gawain couldn't refute his with his friends' words while sighing with a helpless face. It was indeed true that they were wasted being here but that didn't mean they were being ignored. As a knight who harbored the name of the legendary knight, he felt Tristan was being rude. However, it was his behavior.

Unlike Tristan in the myth, Tristan was more carefree and pruned to the mistakes. Especially when it came to women, he was a terrible man who would try to flirt with them by using his handsome face. Obviously, the result would be disastrous as his face where he would often end up getting beat up by his father or his friends which included him.

" I don't know why the southern part is in turmoil but I have to say that their apple ale is the best. I have never drank better ale than theirs.

We should try it when we get there, Gawain. I know you love ale and besides we could enjoy some delicacies with our money."

Gawain rolled his eyes when he heard his friend's talk, hitting his chest with his arm to tell him to stop. However, Tristan didn't stop instead he laughed with a loud voice while humming with a happy face.

" You are a strange person, Tristan. I have never seen a happy person like you. It is like you don't have any worry.

Don't you know we are heading toward the former best knight's territory? I heard there are barbarians in their territory like giants. Maybe you should spar with them."

Tristan laughed dryly while looking at his sword. Unlike his friend Gawain who held a large sword, his sword was rather thin but it was deadly. In on one-on-one duel, Tristan would be the best knight among the young folks in the whole isles in his mind.

" We will see, Gawain. I know your arms are itching too."

The duo continued their journey with the degree of the king while the endless road appeared in front of them.

Meanwhile in Wales

" Miss Guinevere, we packed your thing. Do you think we are ready to go?"

The young man stood next to a beautiful young woman with a gentle smile. His beautiful grey eyes and blonde hair were exact copies of those from the legends.

" You don't know it, Lancelot. I hate my grandfather for forcing me to meet some unknown man.

I rather die with dignity than be used like this."

She tied her ginger hair up while holding her bow which she got from her mother. With a single hop, she mounted her horse while Lancelot sighed with a defeated face.

" Then let me accompany you. I can't let you go there in the wilderness. Who knows what will be waiting for us there?"

Lancelot cared deeply about her safety because he grew up with her and saw her as her sister. There was no chance that he would send her to an unknown place.

" Ugh, fine. Where do you think we should go?"

Lancelot smiled at her mark while mounting on his horse with elegance. His long hair dropped next to his shoulder as he buckled his helmet.

" South, my lady. We should visit their territory, no?"

Guinevere laughed at his cheeky words, directing her horse to the south.
