A new life

"I will get out of your life Mark, and I don't want to ever see you again!!" Lyra yelled.

"Lyra! Lyra!" Mark yelled, running after her as she launched into the street.

Without looking, Lyra launched to the road, hearing all the horns and people telling her to leave the road, but she was too startled and just kept looking at the car.

"Oh, No!!!!!!!!" She shouted as she covered her face with her hand as the car hitted her.

"Please…." Lyra said her last word before her vision began to go blank. She was unable to see anything and she took her last breath.

Lyra has never believed in anything called the afterlife, but today she wished for another life even without having any hopes in what she said.

Lyra's consciousness returned slowly. She opened her eyes slowly and her head was still hurting her. She didn't know why she was still experiencing the pain after her death.

She moves her body slowly but she feel aches all over, she opens her eyes and finds herself in a lavish bedchamber, surrounded by Royal furnishings. A woman, dressed in elegant attire, stood beside her with a worried look on.

"Who... who are you?" Lyra stammered. Confusion gripped her and she was not sure of where she was.

"I am Lady Elara, your lady-in-waiting. You are Princess Lyra, Crown Princess of the Heavenly Realm."

Lyra's mind reeled. "What? No, I'm Lyra, a chef..."

Lady Elara's expression turned sympathetic. "Your memories will return, Your Highness. For now, know that you are engaged to Prince Lyrien, and your wedding is imminent."

Lyra's world spun. She was a princess? Engaged? This couldn't be real, she chuckled. "No you must be kidding me, and why am I dressed in this custom," she asked as she looked at her body, everything just looked funny to her. She tries to move, but her body is too weak.

"Why is my body weak? Did the accident leave me paralyzed or am I dreaming," she thought to herself, it was like she was running mad and everything was just confusing.

"Your Highness, what's the meaning of kidding, and also you have been in a coma for a year and a half. I am sure that My lady will be happy if she hears that you have woken up," Lady Elara said in excitement.

Lyra touched her head, she didn't find it funny anymore. The whole information was so hard for her to process, "And who the hell is my Lady!!" She yelled in annoyance.

"Your mother."

Lyra paused for a minute, she had a mixed feeling of happiness and confusion. She has never experienced what it is like to have a mother since she was an orphan.

"I have a mo…Mother," she asked while pointing at herself in surprise, everything that was happening was like a friction to her, as much as she wanted to deny it is still what she thought it was.

"Did I ... I transmigrated, what about my life, my friend, my restaurant, and my show," her head was already buzzing in confusion and she couldn't find the right answer to her questions.

"Your Highness don't get confused too much, you just have to take it slowly and you will regain all of your memories soon with time but for now you only have to rest, I will call you mother and crown prince Lyrien,"

"Wait, is he here as well?" She asked.

"Yes we moved to the palace when the crown prince did not see any improvement in your health and now you are being treated by the imperial physician," she explained before leaving in a hurry.

Lyra tried to stand up again but her chest began to hurt severely. "Ahh ouch!!" She screamed in pain as she touched her chest which was hurting so much.

Immediately Lady Elara rushed back with a woman who did not look that old, she seemed to be in her late thirties. Lyra stared at the woman without saying anything.

The woman also stared at her and in the next minute she charges towards her and brought her into her embrace and she wrapped herself up. Lyra was stunned by the sudden change of action.

Lyra did not know how to react to the situation and kept on hugging her.

"My dear Lyra thank God you are fine," she said as she looked at her, she looked back at Elara. "Elara go and prepares the bathtub for her. She should wash up before the imperial Crown prince Lyrien comes," Irene instructed.

"Yes my Lady," Lady Elara said before leaving her chamber.

"M..mo…Mom," Lyra mastered up the courage to call her but it felt so weird to her, she had never had a mom and now calling someone her mother was so strange.

"Yes my daughter, you don't need to force yourself to remember everything now, just act as if you remember everything, we don't want any rumors, and also now that you are awake the imperial household will prepare for your marriage to imperial crown prince Lyrien immediately," Irene said.

"Ma…marriage!!" Lyra stammered as she spoke, she was not ready to get married to a man that she knew nothing about and what was with everybody here why should she pretend as if she remembered everything?

Just as she was about to speak the chamber door was opened again and Lady Elara entered. "Your Highness, the bathtub is ready, I will help you with your bath," she said as she bowed slightly.

Lyra shook her head, no one had ever seen her naked before and she was not yet prepared to let a stranger take her bath.

"You don't have to worry Lady Elara is one of your most trusted personal handmaids, she has been taking care of you since you were born so you can trust her don't worry," Irene assured before Lyra nodded, she did not want to act suspicious she knows that this world is completed different from there's and if they find out that she is not princess Lyra only God knows what they will do to her so the only escape for her is to play along until she finds out about what happened, and why she is here.

Lady Elara helped Lyra to the other room where there was a bathtub, she entered the bathtub slowly and Lady Elara helped her to wash her body slowly, as she washed up a fresh memory flashed into her head.

"Wait ... .I …..I…am supposed to be dead…..I had …. An accident and this is an afterlife," she covered her mouth in shock as she learned new information.
