System Introduction

Leonhardt stood still in the middle of the hall, his gaze fixed on the System Window floating in front of him.

The transparent window was something new to him, something he hadn't even written about in his novel. It wasn't part of the world he had created.

His hand trembled as he tried to touch the window, but of course, there was no sensation. The window only appeared real without actually being touchable.

"This doesn't make sense," he murmured softly. "I never wrote anything like this."

In the corner of the System Window, Leonhardt saw two currencies listed Gold Coins and Premium Coins.

[COINS]

Gold Coins: 0

Premium Coins: 0

"Gold Coins? Premium Coins?" he thought, confused.

"What's the difference?" Leonhardt racked his brain, trying to remember if he had ever written about these dual currencies in his novel, but his mind remained blank.

He didn't know what the function of Premium Coins was or how to obtain them.

"I'll figure it out later," he thought. But now was not the time to worry about that.

The students began to move out of the hall, and Leonhardt remained standing in his place. The System Window slowly closed as he began to realize that no one else could see the window. There was no reaction from the other students, as if nothing had happened. The System Window was only accessible to him.

"Why only me?" Leonhardt wondered. "Am I the only one who has this system?"

Before he could ponder further, the sound of footsteps approached and jolted his thoughts back to reality.

"Leonhardt!" A loud voice called out to him.

Reinhard Arkwright, a young man with short brown hair, approached him with light steps. His smile was wide, and his eyes sparkled with confidence.

"Still standing here? Shouldn't you be hurrying to training?" Reinhard asked, patting Leonhardt's shoulder casually.

Leonhardt flinched, momentarily confused. Reinhard was one of the main protagonists in the story he wrote, a talented Knight from a noble family.

He was full of confidence, with a good reputation among the students. In contrast, Leonhardt knew that he had a bad reputation in this world.

Leonhardt smiled thinly. "I was just... thinking about something."

"Thinking about something?" Reinhard raised an eyebrow. "That's not like a jerk like you." Reinhard laughed, as if the statement was a joke, but the tone of his voice was full of sarcasm.

Leonhardt was silent.

"Jerk."

That was indeed the label attached to him. As the son of Marquis Ainsworth, one of the influential noble families, Leonhardt held a high position in the social hierarchy.

However, he was known as a troubled child, someone who liked to cause trouble, especially at his family home.

In the world of nobility, although someone's social position could protect them, bad behavior would still tarnish the family name.

The social hierarchy in this world was very strict. The nobles held high positions, with the kingdom at the top, followed by Dukes, Marquises, Earls, Viscounts, and Barons. Leonhardt, as the son of a Marquis, was in one of the highest layers of society.

However, everyone knew that he was a jerk who ruined his family's name.

"Of course, everyone knows my reputation," Leonhardt thought bitterly.

At home, Leonhardt was known for frequently causing trouble.

He often got into fights, defied authority, and disturbed the servants and guests of his family.

His status as the son of a Marquis made people wary, but no one truly respected him.

"I hear your father almost dragged you here by force," Reinhard continued, his voice full of mockery.

"You're so famous for your antics at home. Now, do you think you can act the same way at the academy?"

Leonhardt forced a smile. "I'll try to adapt."

"Adapt?" Reinhard stared at him sharply.

"You? Hah, I'm curious how you can survive here. This academy won't be as easy as your luxurious life at home. People here don't care how high your position is in the hierarchy. If you're weak, you'll be left behind."

Leonhardt knew Reinhard was right. The noble hierarchy might be strong on the outside, but in this academy, anything could happen.

Strength and talent were everything. Here, no matter how much wealth or status his family had, if Leonhardt couldn't prove himself, he wouldn't survive.

"He doesn't know... that I'm even destined to die early in this story," Leonhardt thought, feeling a sense of anxiety creeping up on him.

"Oh, by the way," Reinhard continued, "what Talent did you get?"

Leonhardt paused for a moment, considering his answer.

"Mage," he replied finally.

Reinhard nodded, although his expression did not show any admiration.

"Mage, huh? An interesting Talent, but... people say Mages are weak if they don't know how to use them."

His tone was condescending, even though he spoke with a friendly smile.

Leonhardt knew very well that his Mage was considered weak.

In the story he wrote, Leonhardt Ainsworth was a minor character who never truly developed. The real Leonhardt was a spoiled child who used his family's power to cover up his weaknesses and bad behavior.

"But now I'm here... and I have to change my fate," Leonhardt thought, deciding in his heart that he couldn't follow the same storyline.

"Anyway, good luck," Reinhard patted his shoulder again before leaving, leaving Leonhardt standing alone in the hall.

After Reinhard left, Leonhardt stood in the middle of the now-empty hall. He knew his reputation was bad here. The other students must have heard stories about his troublemaking at home, and even though he was a noble's son, no one truly respected him.

"I have to change everything," he murmured, staring blankly at the exit.

The System Window reappeared in front of him, displaying something new: a Quest. Leonhardt furrowed his brow as he read the description that appeared on the window.

[QUEST AVAILABLE]

Quest: Basic Academy Training

Description: Complete basic training at the academy and learn how to use the Mage Talent

Reward: 50 XP, 10 Gold Coins

"Quest?" Leonhardt read carefully.

XP? Gold Coins? It all sounded like mechanics in a game, but now this was his life. He had no choice but to follow this path. He had to survive not only from the enemies in this world but also from his own reputation.

"Basic training... this is my first step."

Leonhardt felt heavy, but he knew this was the first step he had to take.

To survive in this academy, and to change his predetermined fate.
