Running From Law

Turning around, I see Edward running in a completely different direction from us.

"Edward! That's the wrong way!" Waving his hand, he continues to run in the opposite direction.

Hearing a loud I don't care, Raven! I quickly run into a valley only to see guys in green following us. Pushing Amber forward, I grab a trash bag and throw it at our followers.

*BANG!* As they shoot the trash bag, loads of junk and mixed liquid spray onto our followers.

Blinded by the trash, I take a hard right into an alley and climb up a fire exit. Running across the roof, I jump across the first gap.

Hit the ground, I feel a sharp pain in my leg.

"GUH!" Starting to slow down, I see Amber run past not even realizing that I fell behind. Not willing to be left behind, I jump the second gap between the roofs.

"GUH!~" Feeling a strong stab in my leg, I stumble a bit before, I see Amber jump another gap. Breathing heavily, I give myself a small running start before jumping.

Jumping across the gap, I land on my leg and hear it.

*CRACK* in a split second I hear the words from the nun. [I advise you to not engage in physical activities.] Landing on the leg, I hear the bone fully break and pierce out of my leg.

"AHHHH!" Falling to the floor, I roll on the ground, screaming.

....

Jumping over the gap, Amber feels her heart race like crazy. Jumping over another one, she hears a loud scream. Turning around, she sees Raven fall to the ground screaming in pain.

Running back she sees the guards finally make it up the stairs.

Panicking she quickly hides behind an electrical box.

Feeling her heartbeat inside her chest, she listens. "Go! The girl has to be near!" Seeing most of the guards run past her and jump the gap, she notices two guys standing over an ever-smiling Raven.

Now feeling like her heart is gonna pop out of her chest, the surroundings begin to turn into a blurry mess as her thoughts are the only thing she can hear.

Can I leave? Can I talk my way out of it?! All these thoughts rush into her mind spinning the world around her even more.

But the answer is obvious. I can't run, I can't talk, I can't hide, I must fight!

Looking around there are hundreds of things on these unkept roofs. Grabbing a rebar she runs out of the cover and slams it against the head of the first guy.

*Crack*

Her already beating heart beats even faster. Everything around her disappears, Raven, roof, everything. It's just her and that thing. She doesn't even see him as a human anymore just a sack of flesh that needs to be gone.

Her body shakes uncontrollably, as she images all the possible scenarios.

Out of nowhere, a guy jumps at her. She can't hear anything, just her heart. Swinging arms freely, no form no training, all of that has been forgotten in a split second the moment she hit the first guy.

The guys punches, she doesn't feel them she just knows that they happened, and that's all!

Getting tackled, she drives the rebar through the man's back. Nothing she doesn't even hear his scream. Pulling it out she slams it on his head over and over. Until something grabs her hand.

"AMBER!" It's Raven, stopping her hand from striking again. Dropping the Rebar Amber has a sudden realization of what she's done. A thousand thoughts about her life have come to be.

Am I going to jail? Did I kill him? Am I going to be-

"AMBER!" one more time hearing Ravens' voice she partially snaps out of it. Falling into his arms, she begins to sob.

As Raven watched Amber turn a guy's head into a pancake, he consults her in a warm and tight hug. Taking off the scarf of his leg, he warps it around Amber.

"I'm gonna ask for that back before tonight ends."

I have a bone sticking out of my body. I don't think a scarf is gonna help. For that, I have my belt. Grabbing the rebar, I turn them into a makeshift tourniquet.

"God..." Hearing Ambers' whispers, I worry about a single thing, and that's my leg.

Sitting there for god knows how long, I feel my body turn cold. With Amber now sleeping on me, I lightly slip from underneath her. Pulling my body to the ledge, I see my ticket out of this situation. Edward, I truly thought that he was gone already, but now I see him fighting a group of green pads.

"Edward! Up Here!" Noticing me, he throws one of the guys like a sack of potatoes onto the others before jumping up the building.

"Raven! What happened?!" Seeing me with a broken leg and Amber sleeping. He rushes over to me. "You need a doctor!" Smiling, I joke. "You don't say, I have a bone poking out of my body."

Even though he rolls his eyes, I can see a small smile pop up. Putting me on his back with Amber, he quickly runs over the rooftops. "So, mind telling me what happened?" Jumping across a large gap, I tell him. "Nothing just me being a dumbass, and Amber getting into her first real fight." Chuckling about it he uses a scaffolding like a makeshift pole.

"OVER THERE!" Seeing a green pad, point at us. A bunch of them come running at us with their halberds ready. Not thinking twice Edward grabs one of the legs from the scaffolding and brings it down.

"AH!" As the scaffolding falls onto them Edward quickly runs into an alley. "Edward! We need to get past the side river to the central slums!" Knowing where this is going he yells. "We're not going to Daemian!"

Running through the alley, I slam my cane against the head of one of those thugs.

"Sorry! But I need a good doctor! I have a bone poking out of my body!" Hearing him sigh, he takes a hard left. "Fine! But I hate that guy! And you know it!" Running to the river, we arrive at a tall apartment building.

Large wires go from it to another building that's on the other side of the river. Walking to the apartment, I try to tell Edward that we can't use the ziplines since the gate is locked.

"So?" Saying that he crushes the gate lock in his hand. "What were you saying again?"

"Just that I'm jealous of your strength, fucking Tenfold."

"Hey, it's not my fault you can't use magic to increase your strength 4 times the norm." Putting my hand on the side of his neck I say. "Yeah, but I can do this!" Freezing the back of his neck. He screeches like a little girl.

"YAUH! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Ya Nordstorm Fuck!" Laughing at him, we entered the roof and saw the zipline. Putting me and Amber down, he starts to brake into the nearby shack, while I wake up Amber.

It doesn't take long before Amber is awake, seemingly traumatized by the fight. I try to comfort her.

"Don't think too hard about it, Amber. Things like this happen even to the best of us."

Looking me in the eye she yells. "Happens? Happens?! I'm a murderer! I have blood on my hands! My life is over!" Showing me her bloodied hands, I just wave it off.

Showing her my hands, I ask her. "Do you see any blood on my hands?"

"Of course, I don't see any blood! You wiped it off!"

Smiling, I say. "Exactly! No one needs to know you did it. If it makes you feel any better I'm willing to take their dead on me."

Sniffing, she asks me how I plan to do that. Taking her hands and wiping the blood off them onto mine, I say.

"See? You don't have any blood on your hands, I'm the one with it." Smiling at Amber, she sniffs a few more times before smiling back.

"Found the things, or whatever they're called." Barging into our conversation Edward hands me a contraption made out of two small wheels with rebar stuck in between.

Giving one to Amber, I hear her shaky voice.

"T-t-that's supposed to hold us? Wh-wh-where is the harness o-or anything?" Her trauma was replaced with fear for her own safety, so I joked to lighten up the mood.

"Ah, safety measures are for cowards. I mean what's the worst that could happen when you forget all safety regulations? And if you're so unsure, how about Edward goes first?"

Giving Edward a worried look, he just smiles back and puts his pulley on the rope. "Don't worry! It's actually a lot of fun!" Sliding down the rope above the river, he safely arrives at the other building.

"See! Everything's fine!" Jinxing the whole situation the rooftop doors get busted by the Green Pads that started to have it with us. "Shit! It's the volunteers!" Edward yells. While I curse him for jinxing it.

"They're here!" The first two responders yelled. Grabbing the pulley, I put it into Amber's hands and put her on to the rope. Leaning on my cane Like crazy, I feel like I'm balancing on a toothpick.

As I'm about to push Amber, I get tackled by one of the green pads. "Stay down you criminal! You're under arrest." Giving him an elbow to the neck he fainted on the spot. Throwing him off me, I pull myself up and hit the second guy with the cane over his head.

Thinking that, I't my turn, I grab the pulley only to see Amber still tiptoeing on the ledge.

"AMBER! GO!"

As Amber fears for her life, All possible scenarios come to life, the rope snapping, the thing breaking all of it. She hears some clatter behind her, but she doesn't have the strength to look from the ever-blue river far beneath her.

Suddenly getting grabbed by the shoulder. She sees Raven. But not in the way that she wanted. He's smiling?! Like crazy.

Dropping his cane, he grabbed Amber by her shoulders and yelled.

"Amber! Just smile, I know it sounds crazy, but when you smile you can turn anything negative into something good! SO GO!"

Not getting a single thing he says, Amber just puts on a chuckling smile of a freak, before Raven pushes her down.

As she takes up speed she smiles like crazy, while the wind blows her hair back. Starting to laugh at the sheer craziness of the situation, she yells as Edward did. "WEEEE! haha!" Seeing the moon, shine in the beautiful night sky, she realizes something.

The zipline didn't seem so scary.

Reaching the other side, she was caught by Edward. "That was actually fun."

Smiling, Edward puts his hand up or a high-five. "See? I told you that it's gonna be fun! You just had to smile to see it in a fun way!" As they slap their hands they can hear a horrifying almost whip-like crack right next to them.

The zipline has been cut. Leaving Raven on the other side.
