Chapter 26: Saying goodbye

Miracle's Pov

I took a deep breath.

This was the right thing to do…the sane thing to do, my regret was not being able to say goodbye to Hardy. He was the only one who had shown me kindness here.

"This way, Cadet!" Sergeant was impatient already.

I followed him outside as I tried to match his strides with mine but it was an impossible task.

It's been a long day.

A lot has happened and it doesn't look like it will get any better any time soon.

I followed him through the hall. Almost made it to the exit when I heard a familiar voice.

"Leaving without saying goodbye, are we darling? Ouch! I thought we connected"

It was Hardy Lockhart. I smiled and turned around.

He had a smile on his face as usual and both hands were placed inside his pocket.

"You didn't go through the door! I thought you went through the door!" I was surprised to see him.
