Chapter two

Looking ahead, James saw a tall young man. He had blonde hair, green irises and everything else about him spelled only beauty and handsomeness. While James' face looked more feminine, this young man's face looked more masculine. He was Nobert Ndinda.

" I'm surprised you kept your word." James stated.

" Oh! You should be... In fact, today is going to be full of surprises." Nobert said to James

" Greetings auntie. Nice to meet you again." Nobert turned sideways and greeted Sandra who was busy watering the flowers.

" Goodness, if it isn't... Uh..."

" It's Nobert." Seeing that she didn't recall his name, Nobert reintroduced himself to James' mother. Only now did she remember his name.

" Sorry about that Nobert. Thanks for coming. I guess the two of you should go and hang out...You know, and catch up on..." Sandra said to Nobert before looking at her son with insistence in her eyes.

James also knew what his mother wanted so he got up and invited Nobert inside.

Sandra really wanted her son to socialize with different people and make many friends as possible, after all it was every parent's wish for their children to make friends and also get along with others. ' I really hope he doesn't encounter the clans yet.' She pondered as she watched the two teenagers enter the house

" Your house is really good, I must say. The simple design..." Nobert praised.

" Ugly boy, what are you doing near my brother?" At this moment, Jane interrupted Nobert. He was dumbstruck.

" I see you're in a daze. I mean you, Noble...Nob... Ah! Whatever your name is. The trouble you caused my brother was enough." Jane said fiercely with her arms akimbo.

" Haha... " Nobert couldn't help but chuckle." James... Your little sis is really funny and cute. " He added with a toothy smile.

" You... "

" Okay, enough Jane. We all know that was a misunderstanding. Those magic users were strong after all..." James stepped in to stop James from throwing a tantrum.

" Actually, I'm really sorry for back then... I'm going to make up for that by gifting you this. " Nobert abruptly said. He got something from his brown trenchcoat and it happened to be a strange book.

" Wait... Is that what I think it is? " Jane gasped before asking and looked up at Nobert, who by now had a smirk on his face, with her wide eyes. Even James was shocked because...

" Happy birthday princess." I stead of answering, Nobert congratulated the young girl.

" Is that a mystic magical book?" James asked while pointing at the navy blue book.

At this time, Jane also looked forward to whatever Nobert was going to say.

" You guessed it wrong... This ain't no mystic magical book." Jane's hopes were shuttered immediately.

' Yeah... Like how the hell would an ordinary person like this ugly come across such a book. ' Jane pondered to herself disappointedly as she looked at the book in her hands with low enthusiasm. On the other hand, James was relieved since he knew what a mystic book meant. It wasn't a joke since it would bring out problems.

" This is a classic magical book." The next moment, Nobert said unexpectedly. The brother and sister duo, who had initially gave in to their conclusions gasped in shock.

" Are you kidding me? How the hell would you come across such a great book?" Jane sternly asked.

" Well, you know very well that I'm a strong magician and I come from an aristocratic magical family, the House of Ndinda." James wasn't as surprised as Jane at that moment because he already knew Nobert's family background but the thing was that he didn't know how much power and influence they held.

In that era of the Gurou daynasty, there were very many things that had been redeemed as supernatural. Those things mainly had to do with magic. And to learn magic, there were different books that could be used. Of course it wasn't necessary to learn magic this way.

One had to first learn the secrets of nature, using the seven body chackras. In this way, the chackras would be fully opened and if opened, one would start practicing magic. There was also another way of practicing magic which was through books since most people couldn't open their chackras. Everyone knew it well that only those who were blessed or cursed could successfully open all chackras of the body to their fullest.

Having seen that magical books were an easier way of learning magic, many people gave in to books. These books came in six different phases though.

The first and initial phase was the Qi gathering magical book. This could help one gather nature essence and drive out magic hindering toxins from the body, making it suitable for magic wielding. The second one was the Qi storing and refining magical book which would enable someone who mastered the first phase to gather the nature's life force, Qi into the body and refine it into magical body nutrients. This way, the person would attain supernatural strength and abilities.

The third phase, also known as the mystic magical book was that one which enabled magic wielders to learn various ways of using their abilities to a potential way beyond their imaginations. The forth one, was known as the Classic magical book which had different teachings about various sorcery techniques commonly known as magical spells. At this phase, one could attain the title of mage or sorcerer.

The fifth book was the Spirit body magical book which would make one invincible. Very little information was known by commoners about this book as for the Supreme magical book, also known as the book of immortality, was considered a legend. Many didn't know if it still existed. Not even those powerful magical clans.

" I've already mastered this book so it's of no use to me. And you know my situation pretty well, I'm the weakest in our family so everyone has already mastered it by now." Nobert explained a lot more clearly after seeing the duo's shocked expressions. Any ordinary person couldn't just get their hands on such a powerful book.

" W-wait, since it was yours... Doesn't it have the blood signature?" Jane was obviously a smart girl and so she had to ask such an important issue.

In order to prevent theft, once one attained such a book, they would perform a blood ritual called blood signing. This is where a person would insert their blood essence into the book to create a blood signature. The ritual had to be performed by a master level sorcerer so as to be strong. After all, every problem had a solution and this kind of signature was a problem to thieves.

" You must really know that our family is strong and so, no one would dare to steal from us... But anyway, I had it undone." Nobert explained proudly though he didn't dare to show his pride Infront of this adorable hostile girl.

And then, Jane was looking at him strangely.

" What...!?" Nobert asked.

" Don't you dare think about me being adorable or cute or hostile. Otherwise..." Jane said threateningly while she popped her small knuckles.

" Does your sis read minds!?" The boy whispered to James who shrugged in reply.

" Fend for yourself I'm outta here." James smiled helplessly as he backed out. He couldn't help but think that the two, Nobert and Jane, were cute together by the way they didn't get along.

" Anyway, thanks for this Nobert. I don't know if I'd ever get the chance to attain this book in my life if it wasn't for you. So thanks." Jane said to Nobert in a polite tone and she really meant it from the bottom of her heart.

If only she could ever become strong, then she would be able to protect her brother and mother from the hostile society and alo save her father from the black organization. Those were Jane's goals.

The young girl ran to her room under the two boys' gazes. Nobert looked at James and wanted to speak but froze immediately as if he had seen a ghost.

" What the hell, James... You actually dyed your hair?" Nobert was shocked.

" Oh, and you just realized?" James asked indifferently.

Seeing James' expression, Nobert chuckled nervously as he scratched his head.

" Well, I guess so. Anyway you still look good... actually you really looked awesome with your white hair. It's just that your looks are like a curse. " Nobert said thoughtfully with a pondering expression on his face.

The last statement though, made James have a strange look in his eyes.

" I'm uh... Well, let's forget that. " James said as he pondered a bit.

" So what do you say Mr. Sorcerer? How about we organize this place a bit? " James grinned, looked at Nobert and suggested.

" Haha... Time to put my sorcery to good use. Behold... " As Nobert said this, he raised his hands and sparks of golden light ignited around him. His already green eyes started glowing like an emerald glass lit with sunlight.

James looked at the scene in bewilderment.

Outside the house, Sandra stopped watering her flowers and strangely looked back at the door. Her gaze was filled with worry and she couldn't help but shake her head sadly.

' I can't keep him away from magic forever but I won't allow those hypocrites to take my son away.' The woman pondered with a solemn and determined expression on her beautiful mature face.
