Second Mate

When I got up in the morning, I found that there was no one inside the house, I stretched out my arms and after going to the bathroom and changing the cotton and burying the used one in a pit for disposal, I sat down on the deck in the front of the house looking around with a confused face when I saw that Eric came out of the forest in his beast form holding a animal hide bag in his mouth.

He instantly halted after looking at me, I gave him a smile which made him walk upto me as he placed the animal hide bag on my lap. I looked down to find that there were fruits inside it so I habitually stretched out my hand and rubbed his head but suddenly I realised my mistake of mistaking him as Sam.

I warily looked toward him to find that even he was stunned, before I could've removed my 'bad hand', Eric turned into his human form in a sitting pose with both knees kneeled down, looking at me with shocked eyes while I was also giving him the bestest competition with the same look.

His Auburn golden eyes were definitely the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen, whenever I looked at them, they always appears to be peering right into my mind or soul, so before he could've guessed my inner malicious thoughts I looked away but my vision accidentally caught a glimpse of his member which was definitely a monster in real life.

My face instantly turned red so I looked away bashfully, I instinctively retracted my hand as I said "Ugh.. Eric...why don't you get dressed...".

My words instantly made him react because he dashed inside the house and came back with a fur skirt on.

He apologized but I chuckled as I told him that it was nothing while motioning for him to sit beside me, he hesitated but still got seated.

"Where are others? I didn't see a single soul except you!" I asked while looking in the front.

"They went to that leopard's house, whom Sam fought with yesterday" Eric replied calmly but his words were enough for making me cough up blood.

"WHY?" I asked with both surprise and fury.

Eric looked at me and replied, "Qingqing said that she wanted to visit and see how he is doing."

"This girl! She really can't be left alone! Is there really any reason for visiting him?" I talked to myself but instantly realised that I wasn't alone so I looked toward Eric with an embarassed smile as I apologized for speaking like this.

"No! Please don't! Why are you apologising?" Eric instantly replied with his flabbergasted expression which made me chuckle all of a sudden.

Eric looked at Kyra's smiling face which made him smile too, so he asked in a soft tone "Do you want to go there too?"

"Huh? Why would I go to that leopard's place?" I asked in a confused tone while munching on the fruits.

"Because Sam and your sister are there..."

"So what? They will eventually come back and since Sam is there with her, I'm not the least worried about her safety"I replied with a smile as I offered some fruits to Eric.

He hesitated but still took the smallest of all the plums and nodded, After the fruits I went inside and took out a big bowl of hot meat and vegetable soup that was definitely prepared in the morning and handed it to Eric while I went to bring mine.

We both silently ate our breakfast while sitting on the deck, looking at the beautiful scenery in the front with cool breeze embracing us.

Soon Qingqing and Sam came back, Sam came running toward me and gave me a hug while Qingqing smiled cheerfully after looking at us, but when she noticed that I was giving her death stares she shuddered.

I got out of Sam's embrace and took some heavy steps toward her side, I glared at her as I asked, "Why did you go to Parker's?"

"Ughh... sister...he was also hurt...so I just went to look at him" she replied in a meek tone while fiddling with her fingers.

"Did you not think that it was right to ask me atleast?"

"Why? I just went to look at him and I'm back already" Bai snapped suddenly just to receive my another glare.

"Oh, really? Just to look at him? Did you forget what he was going to do, to YOU, yesterday? Did you forget that he hurt Sam too!" I snapped back at her.

"But... didn't he protect us earlier, how can I avoid him when he is hurt?" She replied in a slow voice but from the fluctuations in her tone, it was clear that she was getting irritated.

Seriously bimbo? Whom do you think you are showing your attitude to?

"Oh yes! You're right! He protected you!" I said in a full surprised dramatic style,

I continued with the same drama "Then Qingqing, you should pay him back too! You can't keep someone's favour for free, Right?" and questioned her.

Bai was bewildered with such a fast transition between my reactions and my hand on her shoulder was somehow making her feel pressured so she nodded haphazardly.

I forced a smile on her answer and continued, "Then how are you thinking of repaying Qingqing?"

"Ugghhh... I can cook something for him... "

"Oh! And who told you that he will get satisfied with just this much?" I asked her with my still forced smile.

My words made her startled and she got silent and looked down so I made her look at me by holding her chin, "You know what Bai, if a male saves a female then he gets the right to become her mate! So Qingqing, are you going to take him as your husband now?"

"No! Why would I accept something like this?" She instantly said with a horrid expression.

I made her look at me more clearly, as I said with my blackened expression, "Then why did you go to his house? What are you, a five year old toddler? That I've to clean after your mess! I never asked you to go there! I'm trying my best to keep you safe, but No! You're doing your best to create problems!"

I looked at her eyes which were on the brink of bursting out with tears but none of the expressions were going to make my anger subdue so I continued "You know what, your excessive kindness will eventually become a doom bringer for you! You-" I was going to continue but Sam suddenly came and hugged me from behind, startling me.

He instantly got me in a princess carry and before I could've said something he took me inside the house closing the door.

Eric looked at the gate and then at the girl standing in the lawn with tears in her eyes and sighed, he was really surprised when he saw Kyra teaching her sister because it was a rare sight, after all you'll never found someone reprimanding a female.

Eric got up and looked at the closed door and went toward Bai, he looked at her sniffling on a spot so he hesitantly stretched out his hand and rubbed her head, while offering her the plums he said "Qingqing, your sister was telling the truth. I know that it might've sounded be a little hurtful but she did that for your good".

Bai looked up at Eric's face, she nodded while wiping her tears and picked up a plum for herself.

Eric was satisfied after seeing her calm down so he asked "would you like to go on a short walk in the forest?" Because he could hear the sounds from inside the house so he decided to give his brother some privacy with his mate.

Bai nodded and they both altogether went on a walk in the woods behind their house.

"Stop it Sam!" Said Kyra while laughing as she was trying to remove his face which was moving down from her collarbone while planting hickey.

"Why? I don't want to~" said Sam as he looked up without getting up and again started doing his job.

"Shh! Don't! There are people outside!" She said while trying to control her laugh because of the tickling feeling she was getting.

"Don't worry, there is no one outside~" he said as he moved his hand to pull the tube top that came into his way but stopped when Kyra said "Sam, you know that I can't mate with you because of my periods".

Sam pouted and let go of the top, he gently pulled Kyra into his arms and sat down while scooping her from behind while snuggling against her neck.

"Kyra, you don't need to shout like that on her, after all she is pretty young, right?"

"Oh! Then why don't you try to stop me Sam~, I promise that if you ever dare to intervene in my teaching lessons, I'll stop favouring you~" instead of replying, I threatened him in a pretty sweet voice which I don't know why made him shiver.

Why? don't ask me! I talked pretty sweetly!

Sam instantly said, "No, no, that's not what I meant! I was saying that I'll also help you! Will that be fine?" while putting his head on my shoulder.

I laughed out loud as I rubbed his head, because I know that no matter what happens I'll never be able to stop favouring him, after all he got the qualities that already makes him hard to be ignored.

After ten minutes, we saw that Eric and Bai came back while carrying freshly picked vegetables. I just looked at her without saying anything while sitting on the deck beside Sam.

Bai came toward me but I tried to ignore her when she apologized, 'A sincere apology' because she moved to tears while admitting that she was wrong,

now no matter how cold hearted I was, I just can't ignore her crying face so I instantly hugged her, after feeling that she was sniffling I said, "Miss Qingqing, I'm going to get covered in your snot~" teasingly which instantly made her laugh.

Our little melodrama ended pretty soon with both Sam and Eric as audience who I don't know why but were looking pretty much moved.

By this time it was already nearing afternoon so Qingqing and Sam both started preparing for lunch, so I looked toward the guy on my left and asked, "Eric, will you come with me for a walk in the village?" In the most courteous way possible.

Eric looked a little surprised but instantly nodded and just like this we started our 'short time killing walk' because if I stayed back at home then my conscience will start eating me up after looking at the others cooking while I'm resting leisurely, so it's best to just get disappear!

Soon we were walking on the main pathway of the village with many huts and beastmen around us, I could hear them all whispering about me because I, unknowingly become the fiercest female of the village.

Okay! I admit that this much was expected after my impulsive show but that wasn't me! They were my period harmones, I'm sure!

In the whispers, I heard the words like "Who is that ugly male?"

"How come there was a four striped beastman in the village and we were still unaware?"

"Looks like that female have accepted him as a guardian"

"Of course, someone like him can only become a guardian at most, after all who will accept him with that scar?"

I listened to the non-sense they all were spouting with my forehead twitching and the tightening of my grip on the baseball bat that I was holding,

I looked at the guy beside me because those hurtful terms were addressed to him just to find that he wasn't looking the least bothered as if he couldn't hear it.

"Isn't he ashamed that he is roaming in the village to scare females! Even we males can't look at his face, what is the use of being powerful when you can't attract even make a single female look at you!" A male suddenly said in a slightly increased voice which made me stop.

Eric also stopped and looked at me confusion as he asked if something was wrong?

I looked at him with a lot of emotions because I wanted to ask him that why is he staying silent after listening all the shits these guys are spouting? Even when they are a no match against him!

I wanted to ask him, why is he giving them the chance to speak nonsense? When they themselves are a lot inferior to him if we start comparing the looks!

I wanted to ask a lot, but I know when and where I'm supposed to open my mouth so I just shook my head to make him relived, I instantly looked toward the guy who said the last statement and gave that stripeless tiger beastman a life threatening glare which made him shudder.

"Kyra?" Eric called bringing my attention toward him as he said, "shall we keep on going?"

I nodded and Eric turned to start walking when I hugged his right arm in my left one making him startled, flushed and halt at the same time.

I looked at his eyes, looking at me with a lot of confusion and questions while his face was having a beautiful red hue, so I said with a warm smile, "Eric~ shall we keep on going?"

He was bewildered but still nodded as the answer for my question. We started walking with my arm wrapped around his muscular biceps which were definitely one of the best feeling while Eric kept on looking at his arm and my hand wrapped around it.

I could feel his stare but I ignored it, because it's not like I'm not blushing or my heart is not throbbing!

We were walking peacefully while listening to the discussion of beastmen which turned into jealous words after looking at a so called 'imperfect male' walking this intimately with a female but we both just ignored their words like thin air when suddenly a sharp irritating voice came, that was definitely hard to ignore.

"Oh! So you're roaming with an unwanted beastman you unwanted female!" Eudora said, No, more like screamed to get our attention.

I instantly stopped and turned my head to look at her, just to find that she was having more males she earlier had, who were creating a protective circle around her.

The moment my gaze got locked onto her eyes, I showed her the most scariest psychopath's smile and I called her name sweetly, which instantly made her neck shrink and her to hide behind her males.

"Eudora~" While calling her name, I walked toward her with my creepy smile and open arms "You personally came to welcome me~" but her males instantly blocked me.

I glared at her males while saying, "Am I supposed to teach you that you should step aside when two females are talking?" "Right Eudora~" I asked while looking at her.

"No, we can't let you have any kind of interaction with our female" a male in the front said.

"Oh! But I really don't want to hurt any of you males!" I replied all dramatically looking at them with my emotions dripping from my eyes.

Eudora's male started laughing at my statement, "Female, you really think that you can hurt us yourself!" and again started laughing.

"Aww! Then I'm apologizing beforehand" I said in a soft tone but before I could've gotten any other reply, I swung my bat and hit the head of one of the male so hard that it made him fall onto the ground with a thump!

I looked at his body which was not showing any moment and then looked at the others guys who were shocked to death.

"So, are you guys still not moving?" I said while putting the bat over my shoulder as I looked at them with my tongue clicked but to my surprise that none of them moved away.

I gave a deep sigh and looked at them as I again prepared my hand for another strike but I was suddenly stopped by the man behind me because he gently grabbed my hand and said, "Kyra, don't hurt your hand for these weak males".

I smiled and nodded at his statement.

Eric instantly released his four striped beast pressure which made all the males stagger and kneel down leaving their female unguarded.

I crossed the kneeling men with a smile and instantly reached my target, Eudora was horrified so she instantly tried to run but my hand holding her arm wasn't letting her do so.

"So~ I think you were saying something, right?"

"....."

"Weren't you telling me something?"

"....."

"Eudora, I'm talking with you~"

"....."

That woman just decided to stay silent which instantly made my forehead twitch with irritation, so I finally let go of the forced smile and sweet voice, I released her arm and made her look at me with my hand on her chin.

"Are you that scared, that you can't even repeat your words?"

"...."

Ugghhh... this is getting boring! Why the hell is she not speaking? This is no fun dude!

I looked at her with my eyebrows furrowed with fury and said "Eudora, the ugliest female of the village~ I'm asking you for the last time because if you still refuse to spea-"

I was about to complete when she snapped and interrupted me by saying "Who dare you to call ugly? I'm the most beautiful female here! You're ugly! Your sister is ugly! That male walking beside you is ugly!"

I upraised my eyebrows on her statement while my eyes flashed a devilish shine, looks like someone have a shitty superiority complex~

It would be nice to shatter that thing of yours~

I released her chin but held her jaw with my single hand as I asked "Whom did you just call ugly? Him, Eric?" While making her look at him.

"Who else it can be, if not him?"

"And why do you think so?"

"Just look at his scar, he looks so ugly and scary!"

"Don't you think that scar looks beautiful?"

"Huh? How can a scar look beautiful?"

"Aww Eudora~ just by looking at his stripes you can tell how strong he is but that scar tells you that he will protect his loved one without caring about anything~"

"....."

"And did you see those beautiful eyes? And those powerful and appealing arms? Ever seen something like that?"

"..." Not only Eudora but every other person present, blinked their eyes while looking at Eric whereas our man of conversation was looking at me with clear shock filled eyes.

"Just look how tall and muscular he is! None of your males can be compared to him Eudora!" I said while making her look between her males and Eric by moving her head myself.

"Not only your males but any other male standing here are like those pebbles at the roadside that we just ignore!" I said in a pretty loud voice so that everyone could hear it.

My words definitely prick something in her mind because she herself started comparing her males with Eric which was clear from her expression.

I was satisfied after saying everything because I could see those defeated looks on the males who were present there, I met with Eric's gaze and gave him a smile which made him start blushing while having a stunned expression.

Before I could've enjoyed that expression more, Eudora literally spouted the shittiest words someone could ever say, "You male! I'll accept you as my mate even with that scar of yours"

Her words instantly made Eric's face lose all the shyness because his expression instantly blackened but before he could've said something, I pulled Eudora's head by grabbing her hairs,

"Eudora~ I only allowed you to look, but you really are getting ahead of yourself!" tightening my grip on her hairs and making her scream in pain.

"Hey! Is she pregnant?" I suddenly asked to one of her male who was kneeling under Eric's beast pressure, he hesitantly shook his head while looking at me with horrified eyes.

His response was enough to make my last kind of sanity drain as I slapped her making her fall onto the ground, "Eudora~ how dare you to have thoughts about him~" while giving her another slap.

My 'taking out of my frustration' session continued for a long time because of the obvious reasons! How dare she have thoughts for My crush! He is already My Man!

I got up leaving a female crying onto the ground with both swollen cheeks and of course with some pulled out hairs, I mean I promised her that yesterday, right?

"Get lost Eudora before I pull out your remaining hairs!" I said while picking up my baseball bat which I didn't use because I know that if I had, then she would be dead by now, after all, other than me no one knows how uncontrollable my wrath is.

Eudora shuddered at my words but she instantly went away with help of her mates altogether, until this time a big crowd was already around to see the drama but the most funny thing was the silence that was definitely not there earlier.

I looked at the crowd when I saw some familiar faces so I called out loud, "Ivy! Eve! How are you guys doing?" While giving them a smile.

My attention instantly made them flinch because they shuddered as they tried to hide behind their respective males, but do I look like someone who would stop?

Hell No! so I instantly walked to their side, their males indeed tried to protect them but Eric's aura instantly made them helpless when I said, "Eric, don't do that! They are my friends and you can't treat my friends' mates like this" with a small pout.

Eric instantly withdrew his aura with a nod while I looked toward the females and said sweetly "Eve~ Ivy~ why are you getting scared? Don't take my interaction with Eudora to your hearts, after all, you guys are my friends~ and she is definitely not!"

My words made them look at me as they finally nodded toward each other, Ivy was the first one to come forward followed by Eve just after her. They hesitantly looked toward me just to see me having a soft smile on my face.

I offered them the plums that Eric was carrying and that thing somehow made them forget their earlier fears because they all started talking with me quite merrily, pretty soon the other two females Ann and Beth also joined us.

We altogether sat down under a tree and talked, it was more like about them gossiping about Eudora's deeds and how nicely I taught her a good lesson!

I waved all of them a good bye because from the sun's intensity it was clear that it's afternoon and lunch should be prepared by now.

Seeing me getting up, Eric instantly came toward me to escort me back. The only problem with his escorting was that he never offers his hand so I helped myself and grabbed his arm just like earlier and started walking.

During our way back, Eric suddenly asked, making me shocked, "Kyra, can I become your guardian?" which made me to stop and look at him with clear disbelief.

Eric was looking at me with hopeful eyes when I replied, "...no" which instantly made his body stiff as he hurriedly looked away to hide his expression while saying "Alright".

"Eric...." I slowly said hoping that he will look at me but to my surprise he didn't so I instantly made him look at me by cupping his face which was definitely the most fervent act of mine because even Eric was looking at me with the 'a bolt from the blue' expression.

I looked into his eyes and took a deep breath for calming my already racing heart, "Eric, please let me finish..."

And with this I let go of his hand and kneeled with my one knee onto the ground as I asked in a knight's demeanor with my one hand extended in front of him,

"Eric, the reason I didn't accept you as a guardian is that I really like you and hopes that you become my mate. So, Eric... Can you accept me as your mate?"

My words definitely shook him hard because I could see he was stupefied, he tried to open his mouth to speak but still couldn't utter anything in the end so I added, "Please?" while looking at him with a pleading smile.

Our whole confessing scene again caught the attention of the villagers because they again gathered around us to watch the free show, but I didn't pay any mind because the jealous and shocked expressions I was getting were pretty amusing.

Eric instantly helped me stand up as he asked nervously, "You really mean it?"

I caressed his cheek as I nodded my head in approval which finally made him reply, "Thank you Kyra for accepting me as your mate" while grabbing my hand on his face lovingly.

The reason for my sudden proposal was my chat with Sam in the morning when he told me that he really wishes that I can accept his brother as a mate because it was him who caused his brother to get that scar.

It was Sam whom Eric was protecting from a beast tide which caused him to get that mark at a pretty young age. Sam already knew that I liked his brother and he was pretty happy about it too so he asked me if I could ask his brother first because according to Sam, his brother will never propose to me because of being his brother's mate.

I looked at Eric's face which was adorned by the sweetest smile which really made me happy from deep inside so taking the chance I tip-toed while pulling him down from his neck as I placed a kiss on his lips making him startled.

"I can kiss you, right?" I asked teasingly while still holding onto his neck.

Eric blushed all of a sudden but he still nodded which made me give him another peck on his lips but this time he suddenly get hold of me as he gently held my head while reciprocating the kiss without letting me go which surprised me, but didn't make me feel like retracting because I was enjoying this 'public display of affection',

after all the males who were cussing him earlier definitely needed to see that they are no match for Eric and in reality it's them who are unwanted because my Eric already got himself the best wife~

We both came back to our house with hands in hands, during our walk I told him the 'other world' stuff that he took pretty seriously and sensibly as he instantly took an oath in the name of beast God that he'll never let her get into any kind of danger.

We all together had our lunch which went pretty smoothly because Sam was snuggling against me while Bai was sitting at her usual position, which was beside me and because of this Eric was sitting opposite to me but the reliving thing was that he was smiling while his extremely fluffy tail was swaying behind him as he looked toward me shyly and lovingly.
