1 Chapter 1

I was in my room listening to the music when someone knocked. I open the door and saw Minnie standing there with a smile on her face. I returned the smile. She said "Mr Kay would like to meet you."

I thank her and went to his office.

I knocked twice and went inside. Mr.kay was sitting with his back facing me. He didn't seem to notice my presence so I coughed to grab his attention. He revolved his chair to face me and hi eyes met mine .

Something is wrong.

His eyes didn't contain the usual happiness when he would see me . There were many emotions in his eyes

regret ,forgiveness.

These emotions were never shown by him. These cannot be good.

"Ah Beatrice , come sit ". He said

I sat in front of him and looked at him so that he may say what he want to say .

He looked at me and after taking a deep sigh he stated " You have been adopted".

I was shocked but didn't show it in my face . It was something I have mastered in 10 years never show your emotions .

With my lack of response and emotions he started rambling " look Beatrice I tried to stop them but they won't budge and threaten me to sue my orphanage and was threatening me with the children and their future . Look I tried my best but they had very strong connections and I couldn't do anything please forgive me!!".

He kept glancing towards me in between his rambling .

After saying he looked at me expecting a response or any emotion in my face but there was none.

After some time the only thing I said was " Who are they ?"

He hesitated a little but then he replied

"The Regio brothers" .

I know now I am doomed...
