Ch 2 Part 4

Sachi Bennion: "Well father. It would be hard to explain. Let us just say that these here would work well in a pinch. It is lightweight and powerful enough to stop most arrows from afar. It will need to be tested against swords, but it will work against poison darts and arrows for the most part."

Adie Bennion: "So, I am guessing then this may be something else the goddess is telling just you, possibly?"

Sachi merely shrugged her shoulders, as if to say, "maybe". Going back to eating some more food. Peering out the door, Sachi looked up at the sky, it appeared it was getting closer to noon than she thought. Taking a big drink off her glass, she picked up the armor and walked behind the screen near the tub. Taking her odd-looking armor with her, she took her dress off and started to put the armor on. After a few moments, her mother went around to the screen to see how she was fairing. She smiled and asked her mother to help tie it in place. Once finished, her mother helped to put her dress back over her and then helped tighten the tie in the front. Nodding to her mother, she came out from behind the screen. Her father curiously looked at her as he tried to figure out what it was going to be used for. Walking up to Sachi, he began inspecting how it looked when in place. He stood speechless for a few moments as he took in the scene. Stunned, he looked at Sachi and began to speak.

Adie Bennion: "By the goddess, where did you come up with such an idea? It has to be the goddess! If I had not seen this and now you wearing it, I would not have thought such a thing possible."

Sachi Bennion: "Calm down father. It is merely a prototype."

Her father looked at her strangely. A word he was not familiar with at all came from her lips. He simply repeated, "prototype". The look of confusion on his face.

Sachi Bennion: "Be calm father. Prototype means the first of its kind. It is merely an example piece for others that can be made. I made it so if they try anything on the way to the meeting hall, I would be less likely to die or be injured."

Adie Bennion: "You have already thought about the possibility before we even discussed a tribal meeting; I was not expecting you to take so much into account beforehand, but I fully understand why."

Ceilic Bennion: "I think its practical. Considering they already tried to kill her. Precautions are necessary. She also suggested to me that her brothers be wearing their armor and placed around her might anger them enough to make a move."

Adie Bennion: "That is brilliant. I will mind link my groups of betas to be at the ready. I do not doubt that it will do as she is thinking. The looks on their faces alone these past days taking her to the outhouse has already spoken volumes."

Her father closed his eyes and mind linked to several of his betas. He jerked ever so slightly as they answered back. His eyes remained closed as he spoke to them within his own mind.

Adie Bennion: "This is Alpha Adie. Betas, please answer me."

Beta 1: "I am here Alpha! What do you need?"

Beta 2: "I am here Alpha! What can I help you with?"

Beta 3: "I am here Alpha! How may I serve?"

Beta 4: "I am here Alpha! What can I do for you today?"

Adie Bennion: "Good, now that you have all reported in, I have a task for you four. Get your best underlings prepped and get set up at certain points throughout the village. From our house to the meeting hall to be specific. I want all of you on the ready. We plan to set up the trap. We are hoping seeing Sachi going out without help will anger her cousin and whichever sister it was enough to mess up and try and make an attempt on her life again."

All Betas at once: "YES ALPHA! We understand."

Adie Bennion: "Good. No make sure things are in place by eleven thirty. We will start the meeting a fifteen-past noon. Report in if they do anything suspicious beforehand. Have any of your trusted extra watching their places carefully."

All Betas at once: "Right away."

He breaks the mind link with them and slowly opens his eyes, blinking them a few times to make sure the fog is clear from his mind. Sachi peaks her head out the door and judging from the sun, it is roughly ten by now. Closing the door back up, she walked back over to her table, pouring herself another glass of water. Her mother and father finish eating as Sachi snacks on an apple. Her mother must have mind linked to a maid because two came in and cleared the food trays away. They headed back out the door. Trying her best to clear her mind, she stood shuttering a little bit. A nervous habit from her previous life when she was about to do something stressful. Sachi stood taking in a few deep breaths, shaking her hands lightly as she bounced on her feet. Once she felt calm enough, she then turned to her parents, she bent down picked up the makeshift folder and smiled.

Sachi Bennion: "Well, mother, father, I am ready to head out any time you are. Make sure my brothers are here and prepped first."

Ceilic Bennion: "Alright. If you think you are up for it, then let us get this done."

Her mother closed her eyes, mind linked to her brothers telling them to prep themselves and head on over. Within twenty minutes, all four were prepped, lightly armored, and waiting at the house just outside close to the outhouse. Her father then mind linked to his betas once again to make sure they were all at the ready. After a few moments, he seemed to get a reply that they were all standing by and in positions along the path to the hall. People were also in place around their homes incase they themselves left for anywhere other than the main hall. Once he finished speaking with them, he opened his eyes. Smiling to both his daughter and Luna, he nodded his head in satisfaction. Sachi sighed heavy, as she took in one last breath and prepared to head out the door. Her mother grabbed her hand lightly and squeezed in a reassuring gesture. Her father stepped forward and opened the door, her brothers standing at the ready near the outhouse on the path. Once they seen their sister, they all smiled, glad that she was doing good. They knew how much better she had gotten, but to see it for themselves, they were genuinely happy.

There was not much time for celebration at this point as Sachi mind linked her oldest brother, Keyon.

Sachi Bennion: "Keyon, I know you have a wealth of questions for me, but now is not the time. I will explain everything later. Please be watchful, we have all the betas on the ready in case our sister and cousin try anything. Dad obviously knows. Tell our brothers. This is exhausting for me to do at this time. We will talk later this evening or tomorrow, okay?"

Keyon Bennion: "I understand. It is simply great to see you. You are right, this is not the time, I will let them know."

Sachi Bennion: "Thank you brother."

Breaking the mind link, Sachi breathed heavily as she stayed close to her parents. The look on Keyon's face said he was letting the other two know what she said. They simply nodded and went on the ready. With six alphas at the ready, people would be a fool to try anything. Which is what they were counting on, their own stupidity to catch them. Her brothers turned as everyone started to walk down the path to the main meeting hall. Her sister and cousin had been sitting on their porches, they were already dressed for the meeting. Now her brothers could see first hand the looks given by their own blood as the hatred seemed to pour off of them. Arlynn and Tarai just stared daggers of disgust. Her brothers visibly seemed to shiver at the sight as they watched their eyes flux between their normal color to their wolves. They looked at each other in confusion momentarily as they did not know what to think. Sachi spoke in a low voice.

Sachi Bennion: "The look of jealousy and hatred brothers, learn it and know it."

Her brothers looked back long enough to see that Sachi was not lying. It was a human thing, this puzzled them even more. Her oldest brother finally realized why they were having the town meeting. It was to discuss, in part, the human behaviors some members were clearly trying to adapt. With a newfound resolve in their eyes, they understood what and why this meeting was taking place. They had tried to kill their sister, the special alpha meant to unite all. Their combined pride was not going to allow anyone near their youngest sister.
