Chapter Twenty Four: Fated Feelings

I bite down hard on my arm until my mind finally snaps, and I open my eyes, looking down at Izek. 

I wiggle my teeth, feeling his sword's metal steel, and find myself chewing it.

Realizing what I was doing, I let the sword out of my mouth and backed away in fear.

I kept my distance away from Izek and sat in the corner.

I knew my consciousness was elsewhere because of Sabine.

She pulled me away while I was in a killer state. Looking down at my bracelet, the cracks in the beads are realistic.

It's broken. But how?

"Ria?"

I lift my head and see Izek in front of me.

The flashbacks of my killer state had me move further away, but I couldn't hide from him. 

My heart is racing, and the fear of what Izek thinks of me as a monster increases.

Izek has seen me like that with the female rogue, but attacking him jeopardized our relationship.
