Stalking through the forest, Enzo sized up his current prey.

He had been hunting for only twenty minutes, but whether it was due to high luck stat, or the abundance of low leveled creatures in the area, easy prey kept falling into Enzo's lap, making his leveling speed off the charts.
Hearing rustling in the nearest bushes, Enzo watched a pair of humans emerge from the woods, drabbed in fine silks and wearing flowery dresses.
"Sister, isn't this exciting? Papa's finally allowed us to go hunting all on our own!" one of the girls said, her pink hair blowing through the wind. She gripped a short sword as she stared at the rabbit, prepared to act.
"Don't harm him!" the other girl said, "it's just a little bunny."
A loud shriek filled the rainforest as the 'little bunny' pivoted and lunged at the unexpected girl.
The pink hair girl tried to save her sister from the rabbit's attack but was too slow. Then, in horror, she turned to her sister, expecting to see a spray of blood but instead gasped.
A lizard-like creature appeared mid-air between the pink-haired girl and the rabbit, blocking the attack with its scales and slashing the rabbit down with a single swipe of its claws.

Killing the rabbit was as easy as stealing candy from a baby and pushing Enzo just over the edge of Level 7.
Enzo grinned. 'Only 93 more levels to go until I can get my human form and exploit my memories.' Licking his lips at the thought of all the juicy gold he could rake in with his past life's knowledge, he turned around, completely ignoring the two humans.
When he saw the two humans, several possible options filled his mind.
The first option was to kill them. Killing them would garner him some experience, although only a little since they seemed like they were low-leveled. The gear on them also didn't look too appetizing, so he quickly gave up on that option.
The second option was to leave the area and run. But who was he? He was a dragon, a Lord of the Heavens. Could two puny mortals make him run?
That only left him with the option he chose, completely ignore their existence.
As Enzo walked away, holding his head up high, he heard, "W-Wait!"
Frowning, Enzo turned around and stared at the two girls in bewilderment. 'Are these kids idiots? Do they want to die?'
As he contemplated whether he should kill them just to eliminate any evidence of him being here, the pink-haired girl said, "Thank you for saving her, respectable beast."
Enzo wanted to curse these two for their stupidity and good luck. If he were any other Tier 0 beast, he would have been a mindless idiot who only knew how to hunt and kill.
The fact that they were interacting with a Tier 0 beast as though he had the same level of intellect as a human, which only Tier 3 and above possessed, showed their utter lack of knowledge.
"Mr. Beast, would you like to come with us?" the purple-haired girl hiding behind her sister suddenly asked, causing both Enzo and her sister to stare at her in bewilderment.
Enzo was about to turn and leave when he felt a slight tug on his consciousness. It was as though someone was tapping him on the shoulder and asking if he would behave or not, but mentally.
'Could this be…' Then, suddenly thinking of something, Enzo mentally answered 'yes', and the smile on the girl's face lit up as a T symbol appeared on Enzo's dragon palm.
Staring dumbly at the T symbol, Enzo thought like the pink-haired girl who said, "Did you really just tame him?"
Laughing ecstatically, the purple-haired girl ran up and hugged Enzo, stroking his scales as though he wasn't a noble dragon but a simple house cat.

'Alveron.' Enzo narrowed his eyes at the text. 'Shit, I could get used to my luck stat being this high.'
As soon as he had seen the word Alveron, Enzo knew he had hit the jackpot.
Before update 2.0, players in Beast Evolution were confined to the Razzar Continent, which consisted primarily of human kingdoms.
However, the most prominent non-human kingdom was the Alveron Kingdom, home to many Beast races that co-existed with humans.
But what made Enzo the most excited was that the Alveron kingdom was also known as the leveling kingdom by players.
The Alveron Kingdom hosted the continent's best fighting gauntlets that nobles from all over would flock to.
Enzo's mind whirled as several plans started to form in his head as the Avleron kingdom had been his home and base to the guild he had been a part of called Pantheons of Damora.
Although the quest he had just received did have abundant rewards, Enzo wouldn't be babysitting these two day and night.
However, since there was no penalty for failure, he still accepted the quest, as who would he be to turn down free rewards?
Turning to his new protectee, Enzo reached out with his mind to the dimwit. "Can you hear me?"
"You can speak?" Mouth agape, Kayla Alveron stared at him in shock.
Mentally face-palming, Enzo explained, "No. I'm talking to you mentally. Beasts of my level cannot talk aloud."
"What do you mean, Kayla?" the pink-haired girl asked. "Did he just talk to you through your pact?"
Enzo once again thanked his lucky stars for being stuck with only one idiot and not two. 'In fact, it's to my advantage that Kayla's not the brightest since if she was truly adept in beast taming, she would realize that the link is about as fragile as a toothpick.'
The link connecting Enzo to Kayla was about as thin as dental floss that Enzo could stop anytime.
If Kayla gave him an order through the link, Enzo could outright ignore it, and nothing would happen. That was the only reason Enzo had allowed the connection in the first place, as he had experienced being a slave in his previous life and wouldn't allow that to happen again.
He would rather die.
"Jenna!" Kayla exclaimed. "Jenna, he spoke to me!" Kayla jumped up and down in excitement.
The pink-haired girl, who went by Jenna, turned to Enzo and bowed again. "Then it seems I was not mistaken. You did indeed intend to save my liege."
Enzo frowned. 'Didn't Kayla call Jenna her sister?'
But before he had time to ponder the issue, Kayla slapped Jenna's shoulder. "It's sister, not liege," Kayla grumbled, stomping her foot. "How many times do I have to say it?"
Not wanting to waste his precious 24hr luck buff, Enzo mentally shouted, "Have you ever heard of the Alveron kingdom? I've always dreamt of visiting since I was just a small… lizard, but I've never had the chance."
Kayla's eyes lit up as she took the bait. "Yes, I have! In fact, that's where I live. Come, I'll give you a personal tour myself."
