Wifey, you are getting good at this

They lounged in the bathtub with Kai Xin leaning back against his chest as he gives her a sponge bath. She was wiped out from their earlier workout and allowed him free reign to her body.

"Anyone suspicious?" He asked. Placing the sponge aside, he pushed her up into a sitting position before giving her a massage.

She nodded. She completely understood his question and where he was going with it. "I have narrowed down to two suspects. John Warwick, the Head of Accounts. We had been chatting quite often and he would always make innuendos that was a bit over the top. When I called him out for it, he dismissed it as a joke. The Head of Human Resources, Richard Lee, he did not talk much, but I felt uncomfortable around him."

"Why?"

She shrugged, then she shook her head, "It's a feeling."

DX frowned as he thought about those two. They were both hired at around the same period of time and were highly recommended by one of the directors of Du Corporation.

He absent mindedly played with her fingers as he said, "If it is really one of those two, we have to be careful. As far as I know, they are recommended by Director Xiong. The old fox is probably waiting for me to make a mistake. I will tell Han Ye to look deeper into their background."

Kai Xin nodded. As far as she was concerned, her role was to weed out the suspect. "There's one more. Gao Qiu."

DX knew Gao Qiu. He had been with the company for 10 years. "What about him?"

She glanced up at him and put the bubbles on his chin. He had looked at her curiously but he did not do anything to stop her.

Once she was happy with her handiwork, she said, "I think he resented Mrs.Smith for the promotion, Mr. Santa Claus"

DX nodded, completely ignoring the fact that he had a bubble beard. He had expected this when he promoted the least experienced member of the team to be the Head of the Legal Department. He had his reasons for doing so.

On one hand, he wanted someone who can pave the way for Kai Xin when and if she joins him at Du Headquarters.

On the other, despite having lesser years of experience, Mrs. Smith's work had been topnotch and he never had any problems with the quality of her work.

In addition, despite being the only female and the youngest at the team before, she was not afraid of speaking her mind.

She was the only one who dared to point out a mistake in a contract signed by the previous Head of Legal.

If the contract went unrectified, Du Corporation would stand to lose hundreds of millions worth of dollars.

The money itself was a small sum, but DX's capability to lead would be questioned.

He wanted someone who can do their work properly and be loyal to him and the company. A lapdog served no purpose in Du Corporation.

If those so-called senior legal counsel cannot do their work properly, then so be it. He had never regretted his decision to promote Mrs. Smith.

"If he makes any trouble for the legal department, let me know. I would deal with him...personally."

"Mm…" She replied. She turned to her side and lay back onto his chest. The water sloshed about from her movement and the sound echoed off the wall of the massive bathroom. "I'm too comfortable to move."

Stroking her head tenderly, he said with a gentle voice, "You are going to be an old prune if we soak any longer."

"Don't care. Be a prune with me." Like a brat, she murmured and closed her eyes.

Helpless, he let her have her way. She fell asleep after about 5 minutes later and DX slowly got out from the tub and carried her to the shower area.

He made sure that the shower was in the right temperature before washing the remains of the soap from her body.

From the way her thighs tightened around his waist, she was obviously awake. However, she was enjoying the treatment and refused to open her eyes.

"You little minx...I think I have been spoiling you too much." He said, faking a stern voice as he stepped out of the shower room carefully. He quickly grabbed the towel and covered her with it.

"En!" She agreed without opening her eyes. A faint smile was on her face as he carried her out.

When they went into the bedroom, the sudden drop of temperature caused her to shiver in his hold. "C-cold…" She complaint, sticking closer to him.

He placed her down on the floor and quickly put a robe on her. The black cashmere robe with 'Kara' sew on it in gold quickly warmed her up.

Once she felt warmer, she went to the vanity table to blow-dry her hair. DX went over to help her after he puts on his robe.

"Wifey, you are getting good at this." She joked as she looked at their reflections on the vanity mirror.

"It's because I have a great husband." He played along as he handled the blow dryer expertly.

Once he was done, he lifted her by the armpit and deposited her on the bed.

He then climbed up and with his hands bracing on either side of her head, he kissed her once on the forehead, moving down to the bridge of her nose, then ended on the lips.

When he finally looked up and smiled at her, she felt a weird sensation in her heart. It was a feeling that she had never felt before.

DX rolled over to the other side. He took his laptop from the night table and said to her, "Sleep first. I have some work to finish off."

She nodded and closed her eyes. However, a minute later, she opened her eyes to peek at him as he focuses on reading whatever it was on the laptop.

He had turned off the lights in the room and solely rely on his laptop to provide him with visibility. Even though the light from the laptop made him looked devilish, she thought he looked handsome.

With his eyes still glued to the screen, he uttered, "Stop staring at me and go to sleep."

She chuckled and whispered, "I will wait for you."

Knowing that she was waiting for him, he quickly finished up with his work and put his laptop aside. Sliding into the comforter, the two of them just lie on their side facing each other.
