DX tried to hold her down, but she kept thrashing about as she resisted him. It hurt him to see her like this, to be helpless as she was fighting her own internal battle, and to know that he was the one scaring her.

Not knowing what else to do and afraid that she would hurt herself, he pulled her up and hugged her tightly as she kept thrashing and scratching his back and begging to be let go.

Her wailing was so loud and pitiful that it affected those who were standing outside the door.

He merely rubbed against her back gently to comfort her as he kept repeating, "Kara, it's me! DX! It's me! It's ok now. No one would hurt you. I'm here. I'm here!"

As if it finally dawned on her that the man hugging her was her lover, she started crying pitifully but the volume was lowered.

She finally released his neck and let herself completely fell into his embrace as she hit his chest repeatedly, "DX...Why didn't you come? I kept waiting but you didn't come! No one ever came!"

When he heard that, DX felt guilty and he was filled with so much anger that he just wanted to beat someone up.

A murderous aura ran through him and his eyes had a tint of cruelty in it. He wanted to kill someone but he was unsure of who he wanted to kill.

He wanted to kill Shangguan Xing for touching his woman. He wanted to kill Callum for looking at her. Most of all, he wanted to kill himself for not being there for her.

As the heat from his body warmed her up, and with his warm hand comforting her, Kai Xin's body started to relax and her tears were slowing down.

His fingers hovered above her wounds as he blamed himself for his inability to protect her. If his heart was glass, it would have broken to a million pieces by now.

He looked down at her as he noticed that something was not right. Her face was flushed and her eyes appeared unfocused.

"Kara, baby." He held her face gently as he asked, "Did you take something?"

Kai Xin shrugged. She tried to touch him but he stopped her. He pushed her down gently and covered her with a comforter.

DX left her for a moment as he took a second look at Shangguan Xing's pockets again. Rummaging through all the pockets, he found a bottle filled with some pills.

He then threw the bottle at Callum and ordered him to research them and get back to him by tomorrow.

When he went back to the room, he froze. She had pushed the comforter away and she was touching herself. As he observed her actions, he had an inkling what those pills could be.

"That bastard!" He growled as he wrapped her up in the comforter and carried her away.

When she protested, he kissed her forehead and told her,

"Kara, baby...We will go to my room for now."
