President Du's Birthday Party (14)

Meanwhile, back at the garden, DX had to handle the consequences by his own. Mostly, he felt annoyed at being stared at by everyone, including his own mother and his servants.

He pinched his glabella as he thought about how to handle this. No doubt this would be on the news tomorrow.

He could try and push this down using the influence of Du Corporation, but then again... The corner of his lips lifted slightly as he realized that this might actually be a great advantage to him.

With his problem solved, he looked up with his usual calm face as he glared at those who were staring at him.

Except for his mother who was rubbing her temples while glaring back at him, everyone else looked down and stopped their whispering when they noticed that he was glaring at them.

Song Qiao walked towards him and in an awkward manner, she asked, "A-Are you alright, Xi An? That man, he..."

DX waved his hand. He did not want to talk about it with her. He knew that his mother had talked to her father behind his back and he did not want to give her any hopes.

With a dismissive tone, he merely told her, "Qiao Qiao, I don't want to talk about this now."

Before Song Qiao can say another word, DX strode over to Naomi to fulfill Kai Xin's wishes.

Naomi who was stunned by what she saw earlier turned red as a rather naughty thought entered her mind. It was a fantasy scene involving two very naked, very virile man.

"Ms. Naomi Nakamura?"

Naomi was so engrossed in her fantasy that she did not managed to realize that the man she had a crush in since she was a little girl was standing right in front of her and that he was calling out her name.

Rin jumped up gleefully when she heard him calling out to her older sister. President Du had never talked to them before.

When she noticed her sister was standing there with a dazed look, she nudged her with her elbow, "Naomi!"

The nudge was a little strong and Naomi cried out in pain, "Ouch! Rin!"

When she finally saw DX standing in front of them, she gasped, "P-President DX!"

She recalled the thoughts she just had about the imposing man in front of her and her face turned even redder.

Ignoring the blush on the maiden's face, DX merely gave a bow and extended an invitation, "Would you grace me with a dance, Ms. Nakamura?"

"No way...He actually did it..." Rin muttered under her breath as she secretly worshiped the mysterious K.

When she saw her sister standing there like a block of wood, she groaned and took one of Naomi's hand and put it on DX's extended hand, "Of course she would, President Du. Have fun!"

Rin watched as DX led the dazed Naomi to the dance area and she quickly whipped out her phone and took some shots with it.

She looked around for Kai Xin to thank her but the latter was nowhere to be found.

When the dance between DX and Naomi was over, he led her back to where her sister was standing.

He smiled at them when they were talking.

He even acted extraordinarily courteous with them and made the customary small talks instead of walking away like usual.

After all, Kai Xin liked them. With the way she kept finding herself in trouble, it would be best if she had more allies than enemies.

DX glanced at his mother and he looked away in relief when he noticed that her complexion was better compared to earlier.

She probably thought there was hope for him since he danced with a girl willingly.

He sighed silently and hoped that she would stop her dream of having a Du-Song alliance.

He had only noticed Song Qiao because of her father and he had never thought of her as anything other than a younger sister.

Sure, she was an accomplished woman. She was a socialite and she always did the right thing, but he had no feelings for her whatsoever.

DX walked around the garden to look for Kai Xin but he cannot find her.

He suddenly had this sense of dread, like an impending doom was closing in. He quickly went back into the house to look for her.

He checked with the kitchen staffs but they said that no one else came but the servants of the house.

He then ran out to check with the attendants. However, the attendants were busy and they did not notice anyone.

Even the guards said they did not see anyone with the description.

DX told the guards to check the security cameras while he continued his search.

Suddenly, a man with grey hair ran towards his direction.

The man was sweating and he kept looking back as if he was worried that someone might be chasing him.

DX found his behavior suspicious and stopped him.

DX thought that the man in front of him seemed familiar but he cannot recall exactly where they met.

Those mismatched eyes...As he gave the man a cold glance, he asked curiously, "Who are you?"

Without answering him, the man nervously rambled on, "The-the. Something's not right. He took him into the room. B-but his face was weird."

DX's expression darkened as he glared at this rambling fool in front of him, "Who took who? Speak clearly!"

"I- I can't!" The young man shook his head, "They would kill me if they found out!"

DX was getting worried and he snapped, "Who? Do not make me repeat myself!"

The man looked around nervously as if he was scouting for spies. He then lowered his voice and whispered, "Shangguan Xing! Shangguan Xing took a man there!"

A man?

Alarmed, DX grabbed the man by the collar and snapped, "WHICH YOUNG MAN?"

The man was trembling by now as he looked at the scary President Du.

He shrank back as he stuttered, "I-I d-don't know his name. H-he was in the archery tournament earlier."

DX's expression darkened as he asked with a low threatening voice, "Is he wearing a midnight blue blazer?"

The young man thought for a while before nodding nervously, "Y-Yes! I-I think it was m-midnight blue...I-It was blue!"

"Where?"

"I-I saw them d-down the hall. Th-Third room to the l-left."

DX threw the young man aside and ran towards the direction he was pointed to.
