I stood in front of the bookshelf, with Bella standing by my side.

"Is this one of those situations from movies where you have a secret room in your office?" Bella asked, a perplexed expression on her face.

"Perhaps," I replied, chuckling as she let out a gasp of surprise.

"I'll show you for yourself, and then we can talk," I said to her, and she turned to me with furrowed brows.

"Don't you have to push a special book or pull out a fake book to open the door?" she inquired, and I couldn't help but burst into laughter without realizing it.

"Well, sometimes that's the case, but the technology I chose to use only requires my fingerprint to gain access," I answered, and she nodded in understanding.

I placed my thumb on the fingerprint scanner, resembling a light switch, and the bookshelf split open, revealing a door leading to my workspace—an area I never allowed anyone else to enter, except for one person whom I'd rather forget.
