This is as far as I can take you milady.
Evelyn smiled bowing deeply with her hands behind her.
And why is that, aren't you allowed into the library.
Am sorry but only a few people can go into the royal library milady, I will wait till you are done with your time here.
Alright, there's no need to wait outside for me I can find my way back once am done.
Are you sure milady, you've only been round the Palace today ,what if you get lost.
Impossible I've a very sharp memory and even when it gets odd, I can ask one of the maids to help me out.
She could see the excitement in her eyes, the way she ran off made her wonder if it was really the same woman who begged to stay seconds ago.
The huge door to the library was covered in ancient inscriptions, and drawings inscribed in gold.
It opened up revealing a big world of books.
Never in her life had she ever seen such collection of a million books in one building, of only governess Edgar was here to see this beauty.
At least don't make it too obvious that it your first time milady.
A tall lady spoke from behind her, she had a striking resemblance to glady Yvonne that it was hard not to recognise at first sight.
Sorry, let me introduce myself properly, I am lady Cecil the librarian of the royal library and the crow of this building, meaning I see all and know all going all around here.
Her bow somehow showed a bit of mockery and the way she presented herself like she was staking her territory was too bland .
Am lady clara the King's wif....
Everyone knows who you are milady
It's rude to cut someone short during introduction Cecil.
Well apologies your highness...I meant milady, since you aren't the queen yet., I didn't know I sounded rude .it just that you are already famous around the Palace.
She'd only met this woman eight minutes and she was wasn't hiding the fact that she didn't like her, most especially the disrespectful way she approached her.
Of course, but you should try to practice it from now since I would soon be queen, I won't mind if you even prostrate miss Cecil.
Of course, as you can see my uncanny resemble to lady Yvonne is because we are both cousins.
Hmmm...
It must run in the bloodline, being stiff and Grumpy even at old age.
She wasn't here to waste time on this lady so why was she still here.
Enjoy your time in the library, but I will advice you keep away from the East part of the building its restricted.
I will.
The walk round the library was interesting and wonderful, the paintings on the wall telling stories of .
Most of them had bloodshed with demons killing the villagers.
How could they have such paintings set up in a place like this, it could give nightmares.
She had a ton of books to read, each more thrilling than the last.
From time to time she could feel lady Cecil's eyes over her in an uncomfortable way.
The lady was indeed the row of the library.
She had strolled round the library except the East of the library.
What was so special about it.
Something about the East Side of the library piqued her interest, lady Yvonne had clearly warned her to keep away from that side, and yet the more she thought about it, the more she was drawn to that very side like a force pulling her to the unknown.
She hugged the book in her hands tight to her chest and walked towards there, just a little look wouldn't hurt.
Beside what could actually go wrong.
The door was jabbed, covered in cobwebs and still holding a candle in the candle holder.
How do you manage to get inside this place,
She thought while searching all over the Web infested door for a clue.
As if stumbling on something new she noticed the unfamiliar knob at the bottom right of the door.
Bending on both knees to pull properly on the knob she heard some footsteps behind the shelve.
She quickly stood up and pretended to be looking over one of the books.
Milady.... Cecil gasped as she found Clara at this part of the library.
What are you doing here?.
Ohhh... i was just searching for something interesting and decided to look over here, is everything okay miss Cecil?.
The only thing was to play dumb around this tiger faced lady.
She scrunched her nose and placed a hand on the shelve.
Of course everything is all right milady, but am afraid you're already at the East Side of the library, I hope I told you not to come over to this side. Didn't I
Was she asking her or cajoling her like a little girl, either way she didn't like the way the lady addressed her.
Really I must have missed the directions, besides am not good at telling directions, if a board was hung over here with the name written it would be better.
Aren't you here as well or did you lost your sense of direction miss Cecil?
The lady infront of her was fuming turning red without even knowing.
She breathed out and held Clara's arm
You are right maybe we both lost our way around the library, so now that you know let's not come to this part milady.
She took her back out of the place and returned to her duty.
Grumpy lady, indeed she was Yvonne cousin and both were old and Grumpy.
But how would she get back there without the crow of the library finding out.
She decided to while away with a storybook about a girl who wanted every good thing in the world.
Finally done with the book her mind wandered back to the secluded door if it was off limits , then why make it obvious and not cover it up.
She dropped the book in its place and sneaked towards her goal, miss Cecil was currently attending to lady Yvonne and her wholesome complaints this was the best time to strike.
Sneakily she arrived and quickly got on her knees pulling for the knob, with her palms which were sweaty from nervousness.
Milady.... she heard her call again and just then the door gave way as she rushed in and slowly shut it behind her.
Her knees were shaking and chest kept heaving breathlessly as she smiled inside the room, finally, she walked about observing the view.
What in the name of zeus.... her jaw dropped at the intake of the room.
Massive like a whole different library on its own.
Huge charms and ancient creatures hung from the ceiling, the grey colour entwined with forest green colour gave the place a divine atmosphere.
Where was she why were these locked up behind this door.
All sense of question flew away as she walked deeper into the room, it was like a study for ancient calligraph and culture .
Walking further she noticed the giant status,a closer look and you could recognise they were seven gods of the earth, at the end was the statue of zeus the god of the gods.
A huge water fountain bubbled, it was like the sky was inside the building,
She smiled and ran about being wowed at the wonderful view.
They seemed to be some sort of whispering coming from the books, it was magical, more like the books were singing as sirens, luring her in.
Thirty minutes in the room and she finally reached the shelves.
A huge golden book caught her attention the most, she took the ladder and reached for it, pulled it out and a loud thud filled the room as the book came crashing down.
She reached for the book and that was when she heard the most cold chilling voice ever.
Who gave you permission to come to this side of the library, claire.
A manly voice came from under the dark side.
She was dumbfounded, how did he know her name and why was he even here to begin with.
Who are you sir and how do you know my name...step into the light.
She pulled up her bold face looking stoic to the man hiding behind in the dark shadows.
You might not like what you see.
