Chapter 20 - Moving Mechanical Hands 2

"Time Stop!" As the word came out of my mouth, a wave briefly appeared on the fabric of space and time itself, then exponentially increased its size nearly instantaneously before stopping everything it touched 100 meters from my body. Treading through the stopped time as Eliza, my body moves with deadly precision and minimal waste, trying my best to dispatch my enemies using knives. The enemies are, of course, the hobgoblins that I grouped up as Leonard using Teleportation.

With knowledge from the outside world, the tower updated the usage rules for its abilities to be more user-friendly, which means I can put limitations on my powers to reduce the Vigor cost.

So in exchange for this use of Time Stop, I put in a few limitations. The first limitation is that, save for the heart and the brain, I have disabled my lungs, stomach, liver, and so on. Most of my inner organs are currently disabled, but they will be normal again after the time stop. The second limitation I put on my Time Stop is that I have to say it out loud, which further decrease the cost of vigor. I also limited the range of this time stop, it turns out the range of my time stop isn't infinite, it just goes as far as the floor can go, and these dungeon floors aren't that big, only having a diameter of 5 km for the first 10 floors, from what I heard from Gan. That's why I can now make the Time Stop effect only have a diameter of 100 m, which exponentially reduced the Vigor cost, allowing me to use it more freely and less exhausting, which is a good thing since most of the time in the last year it was my last resort. 

Anyhow, It's been 6 months since the last batch came, and I want more room for the people to live, as from what Gan said from the 5th floor that we cleared a month ago, he said that the new batch is going to have a million people come at once, which, if you think about it, is quite a large number, so I have to speedrun these floors for more space, and I'm currently on floor 9, with only both of my bodies, no Jake or Jenna since we're doing a race, and we know they won't die doing these things. Jake is practically immortal without even having to limit his ability, and Jenna, we can be sure that she is absolutely not a pushover, she has been using her Unique ability to enhance her inate learning ability, that's quite a smart move, and since she could do this, she became an absolute beast at everything she tried to learn in a matter of days or even less. 

Jake and Jenna are currently on floor 8, probably. We're in a race to beat Floor 10.

Another important thing that happened within these last 6 months was accommodating people from the last batch to these floors. We're building society from the ground up, which is quite a big responsibility. I want to give this role to someone else, but I can't trust anybody these days, and I don't want to push responsibility on the people I'm close to. So, eh, that's the gist of it.

I'm currently ruling over 2 floors as their king and queen. There were some rejection from some people too but since I'm literally immortal with return by death and with my space and time abilities from both of my bodies, I am unmatched, democracy be damned when I couldn't trust anyone with power beside myself so for now the rulers of the first few floors are both of my bodies, Jake, Jenna and Jacob but the three aren't interested in political stuffs, well I don't either so I just let them run their things until a problem rise up and reported back to me, for that I sent friend request to everyone so if they have a problem I can hear from both parties to judge and since I can make it look fair since being 2 people, no one can complain about my judgement, and if I'm being honest, trivial stuff are annoying to deal with if there are too much people so I just make them talk it out most of the time when problem arise and stop it before it could get bloody, a civil discussion is all they need and if they can't be civil I'll have to force them to.

Hmm, I got a bit sidetracked explaining stuff. So as I am currently dispatching these hobgoblins, they are now briliant piles of flesh and blood. The Time Stop and Teleportation combos are just too overpowered. Also, the reason why I could round up these hobgoblins very quickly and efficiently with Teleportation is because my vigor has increased by a lot, double point gain, and such.

Okay, so another thing, with our stats basically maxed out for under floor 10, it doesn't give us exp anymore and instead replaces it with special rewards that we can't even open currently (the author doesn't want to calculate). As I put those boxes into my inventory, both of my perspectives shifted to a pure white room, and these are my current stats
