TWO WEEKS

Next day

"Hey Ayo have you gotten your essentials ready?" asked Rayla as she walked into the classroom with him.

"Yeah, I believe so" he said scratching the back of his head as he remembered he had packed the clothes the boys bought for him.

"Same here." She said as she sat down, "My dad gave me these cool gifts for our journey, I'll show you later".

"Cool"

Despite their best attempts to take their minds of the fact that there were leaving, they couldn't help but not forget it.

The day didn't feel the same, it felt like they were saying goodbye to the people they knew, the world seemed to be dyed in strange colorful lights making it seem like time was at a standstill to Ayo, As he walked out during lunch he couldn't help but think about everything.

Later that Night,

Rayla stood on her rooftop as she gazed at the stars wondering if she would ever have the chance to see this starry night ever again, she started wishing she was numb to all the things she was feeling in that moment.

Feelings of nostalgia hung in the air, fighting with the feeling of having to go and the feeling of finding out the truth about themselves.

A week flew by in what seemed like mere moments to Rayla and Ayo leaving them tense and making them anticipate what they were about to find out.

"Ayo, Rayla could I see you guys in my office" asked Val as he picked up his bag while exiting the classroom.

Standing up both Rayla and Ayo followed him to his office.

Outside his Office Ayo asked "is there any problem?"

"No but I have one last thing to tell you guys that's all" he said.

"Well what do you want to tell us?" Rayla said as she slowly took off her face cap.

"I want you guys to bear in mind that where we're going to everything is possible and it is also filled with danger at every corner and they are factions which I will tell you more about when we get there." He said. "I will not stop you from joining any of these factions since it will be your choice to make but you should be sure of what you're doing".

"Okay Val" they both replied as they slowly nodded their heads.

"You guys should think about it carefully since every decision you make has a consequence" he said.

"Val, I think we understand that" said Ayo.

"Good"

As Val picked up his cup of tea and took a sip he asked.

"Have you guys packed?" he said changing the topic.

"Yes, I'm done" said Ayo.

"Same here" immediately replied Rayla.

"Alright".

With only a week left they were both feeling more anxious with the new information which Val gave them.

As they both left his office, they couldn't help but try to shake the rising feeling of being scared away but they knew that time was running out.

"Hey Ayo can you shake this feeling?" asked Rayla.

"What feeling?" said Ayo as he turned to look at her.

"The feeling that I might find it very hard to come back to visit my dad again." She said feeling worried and scared.

"You don't have to worry about anything because I'll be right there by your side through it all" he said while slowly rubbing her hair to comfort her "Plus, what would you do without me?"

"Right I guess I don't have to worry that much." She said.

"I wish I could say I wasn't scared too but the truth is I'm also scared but I just have to learn to control the way am feeling since everything am currently searching for is just right in front of me, all I have to do is just take that step forward." He said.

"You're right I can't shrink back right now when everything I want to know is right here" she said as she willed herself to be stronger.
