79 What makes you so different?

"I was just about to have dinner, join me". Melina spoke up as she headed in with them following after her.

"so I was wondering did you keep it?" Alexei spoke causing them to turn to look at him in confusion wondering just what it was he was mouthing on about this time.

Melina on the other hand had a smile on her face as she motioned to a room, Alexei broke out in a wide grin before heading in with large strides.

Batman took a glance at Alexei's back before focussing on Melina, "I heard you were a doctor".

"scientist but yes you can refer to me as a doctor" her smile remaining on her face as she stared at him, "so what can I help the Batman with".

"This" Batman brought out the reagents, "we are here to free the widows but we need your help" Melina took the reagents and took a long look at them before looking back at Batman.

The smile which looked like it would be ever present, dissapeared at this moment.

Half an hour later Melina in her personal lab had brewed a batch of cure and although Batman didn't show it he was absolutely surprised by just how little time it took her to complete this feat.

"Here you go" she spoke as she packaged them into a case and handed it over to Batman.

"I made the cure into an aerosol, that way you'll be able to get it to more widows and reduces the difficulty in applying it" Melina explained as she took of her lab coat.

"Now would you mind joining us for dinner" Melina asked once more.

As they made their way to the table, Alexei finally made his way out of the room dressed up in a uniform that was definitely a size to small.

"How do I look?" Alexei asked as he got into an iconic superhero pose with both arms on his waist and chest out... or in his case gut out.

"You look amazing my love" Melina complimented him with the most obvious lie ever but Alexei didn't notice why that was Batman had no idea as Alexei proceeded to try to show of his muscles.

At this point the girls could hold it in no longer and broke out laughing mocking Alexei, who tried to defend himself with his so called great tales of his time as the Red Guardian.

At this everyone broke out in laughter, although Batman didn't laugh alongside them he had a smile hidden behind the mask as he saw the girls getting along.

"Okay, okay settle down so we can eat alright" the trio soon calmed down after hearing Melina words also because of the dishes that were soon delivered to the table.

Batman's mask moved away from his mouth allowing him to eat as well. Melina payed attention to the little bit of his face she could see before focussing on the food on her plate.

"so what happened?" Alexei asked which caused Melina to pause for half a second before she spoke up, "I decided I was and left Dreykov"

"So Dreykov just let go of his best Tactician and they say I'm the stupid one" Alexei mocked Dreykov as he heard that but Batman was even more wary against Melina.

They Both shared a look which was broken by Inessa asking a question, the one they all wanted an answer to.

"Where is the Red room's headquarters? me and Anya searched for it on our own but we came up with nothing" Melina turned to Inessa and spoke up.

"I really don't know, after I cut ties with Dreykov I've not received any information whatsoever from them."

They seemed to buy that but soon enough Inessa, Yelena and Alexei were down leaving only Batman and Melina seated at the table.

"I'm impressed but I'm curious how?" Melina asked still calm, "I'm immune to most if not all poisons" Batman responded in an even tone.

(A/N he has attained immunity to almost all poisons but not all as there might be one or two poisons out there, who knows.)

"A man who is always prepared huh, I should have known considering another mask under that one. What you thought I wouldn't notice? I'd have you know I'm pretty good at making those kind of masks myself." Melina had a smirk on her face as she continued to stare at Batman.

"How much time?" Batman asked, "In thirty minutes to an hour they should be here to collect all of you" Melina responded.

"You don't want to do this" Batman spoke once again making it to his feet, "you speak as though you know me" Melina made it to her feet as well with a gun trained at Batman.

"Dreykov never let you go infact Alexei overestimated your importance, you are like the others aren't you? under his control" Melina's finger had now moved to the trigger.

"I can help you take him down and let Yelena live a better life", Batman offered. "people before you have tried they only made things worse, what makes you so different?"

"I'm Batman"
