5 Atlantis

Stepping foot inside Atlantis was eerie. Unlike in the show, as I walked in, lights did not come on for me. The place simply did not work for me no matter what I touched. I knew it was because I did not have the ancient gene or the gene therapy that earth had come up with to give the ancient gene to those that didn't have it.

I was not worried though, I knew of this before coming to Atlantis. I had expected this and had stolen a portable light from one of the shops as I was waiting for it to get dark on the planet I had just left. I also had three possible plans to get the ancient gene. The first plan was to look for an ancient repository of knowledge. It was a device that would upload a vast amount of ancient knowledge into the brain of the person that used it.

The other plans involved either finding an Asgardian, kidnapping an earthling with the gene, and lastly hiring a geneticist. I figured those would not be needed considering this was an ancient outpost. It was bound to have a repository of knowledge considering SG1 had found three different ones at three different ancient outpost.

With my light source in hand and my shield at the ready, I went room to room looking for what I needed. The Atlantean outpost was huge, so huge that the earthlings that came here never fully explored the place while living in it. They were always finding new things within the city.

After two days of searching, I had finally found what I was looking for. Not wanting to be stabbed in the back, I secured the Jaffa to a nearby pillar using something similar to chains I had found laying around. I then approached the ancient repository of knowledge and it wrapped itself around my head, uploading tons of new information into my head including thousands of stargate addresses, how to repair and make certain ancient technology including ZPM's. It also uploaded the ancient language, the detailed floor plans of Atlantis and other Atlantean outpost, and lastly all the information pertaining to the ancient gene.

Unlike when humans used this device, my superior titan mind was able to take in all the information and store it. It didn't overwhelm me in the slightest. Accessing the new Ancient knowledge, I could now give myself the gene. It was so simple to do that I couldn't help but have a smirk on my face. The earthlings had developed gene therapy shortly after arriving to Atlantis, so for a being like me with ancient knowledge, it was even more simple.

I walked to one of the 8 Ancient laboratories within Atlantis and got to work. Luckily for what I needed to do in the laboratory to make my own gene therapy, everything was available and didn't need the ancient gene to use like most of the things around. Unlike how stargate command used a mouse retrovirus to insert their 'gene therapy', I used actual ancient dna that was stored within the lab and perfectly preserved thanks to the powerful zpm's that controlled Atlantis.

The serum I created was better than the earths gene therapy in every way. It actually gave me the gene, it wasn't just a therapy.

After injecting myself with my new concoction, I didn't feel any different, but the room I was standing in lit up and came to life. Seeing this, I unchained the shocked Jaffa before handing him my light saber and then standing there in front of him. The Jaffa had seen me activate the lightsaber before and knew how to do so himself. After activating the lightsaber, he looked up at me and then back down at the lightsaber before deactivating it and handing it back to me.

I was testing him. I wanted to know if he would attack me if given the chance. He was smarter than I had originally thought. If he would have attacked, I would have easily killed him. It was either that or a jail cell. He didn't know it, or maybe he did, but he chose the jail cell instead of death today.

It would have been easier to kill him, but Instead I took him to an Atlantean cell and threw him inside. It was a cell that I knew he couldn't escape. This would be his home when I didn't take him off world with me. I couldn't afford for him to roam Atlantis without me and I didn't feel like keeping an eye on him all the time. Although I didn't have to eat, he did, so Id have to remember to grab food and drink anytime I went out to keep him alive.

I knew the Atlantis Zero point module (ZPM) station needed new power sources because when the SGA had arrived in Atlantis the place was on it's last zpm of power that was about to reach entropy. Thanks to the ancient knowledge uploaded into my head, it wasn't a problem for me. I not only knew how to make new ZPM's, but I was also aware of a very secure and hidden room within Atlantis that stored some. Thinking about SGA running around the galaxy looking for zpm's made me almost feel pity for them.

Going to the zpm storage room which was behind a hidden door that blended into the wall, I found a small room with over a hundred different fully charged ZPM's. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. The room that held the zpm's was in one of the sections of the city that SGA had flooded upon their arrival. Of course the ancients would have had backup ZPM's, why wouldn't they?

I grabbed three zpm's and then made my way to the zpm power station within the gate room and changed them out.

Looking at the nearby puddle jumpers which were essentially transport spacecrafts that could go through the gate, I was a little saddened. I was initially really excited about using one, but looking at them in person I could tell I wouldn't be able to fit inside. For me to even walk through a stargate, I had to duck my head before entering. I should have realized. I decided that when I made contact with earth, id use them as trade items. SG1 and earth had no spaceships of their own and this would be something they would be highly interested in.

Now that I had secured Atlantis as my home base, the only other goal I had was to secure Destiny as my personal ship. I could put that off for now. It would be quite a while before SGU got ahold of the ship. Considering Atlantis hadn't been touched yet, it was safe to say that a lot has not happened yet. Before grabbing the ship, I thought it would be nice to explore a bit and maybe even make contact with earth.

I turned on the stargate forefield which was similar to SG1's iris, but more advanced. and grabbed the remote to turn it off from offsite stargates. After that I stored this dimension as the first button on the timer before opening a new random portal to another dimension and stepping through it, not knowing what universe I would step into next.
