[Black Creek, August 12th, 18:20]
We continued to roast the boy without a care in the world trying to outdo each other. From roasting his face to the white vans he was wearing nothing was off limits. The more ingenious the roast the better but what we didn't realise is how loud we were. The people around us could hear us and the guy we were roasting could for sure hear us.
How did I know this, the occasional muffled laughter and the fact the guy's face turned reader the more we talked. At some point, his face rivalled the colour of a tomato and he trembled even more than Royal did earlier. When I noticed this I stopped roasting the dude but the big guy next to me didn't seem to notice as he continued without a care in the world.
"What'd you say?" The guy exclaimed jumping up from his seat and started stoping our way. "I'm sorry about him he's not all in there," I told the guy causing his approach to halt 3 meters away from us as I pointed at Royals head. He seemed to be trying his best to compute my words but he eventually snapped back to reality.
"You also said things about me," He retorted with an even angrier expression as started rolling up his sleeves trying to look as intimidating as possible. "Oh it's because I'm hungry, I'm not me when I'm hungry," I told him in a serious tone trying my best to keep a straight face but the guy next to me ruined it.
He burst out laughing quickly infecting me, he obviously knew that I was trying to BS our way out of this situation. However, the guy in front of us seemed to lag behind a little as he tried his best to process my words. It took him a second but he finally got the reference, which he wasn't very happy about. As he slowly got closer to us we subconsciously started to back up until we eventually bolted not willing to hand out an ass-whooping.
The guy chased us for a while until we eventually split up but the guy decided to follow me for some reason. Maybe I'm not as intimidating as I think I am, or my handsomeness triggered him for some reason. Anyway, after three whole minutes of bobbing and waving past people, I finally lost him. However, to be sure I kept my head on a swivel just to be sure he didn't pop out out of nowhere.
That's when it happened I bumped into someone falling to the ground with them. My world slowed for a second as I subconsciously braced myself for impact with the ground. As we were falling I noticed that it was a girl and my right hand subconsciously snaked around the girl's head so she would knock her head on the ground.
The next moment we landed on the ground with me on top of her with only my left hand keeping my upper body up. Looking down at the girl my whole world stopped again but this time not because of adrenaline. She looks a little younger but I could recognise those green eyes, light blonde curls and the same round glasses.
"Ahem, you planning on getting up soon," an icy voice brought me back to reality forcing me to look down at her. Her green eyes glowed with the reflection of the light from the setting sun but her glare didn't let me appreciate her beauty.
"Not gonna lie I'm quite comfortable right here," I replied with a sly smile wanting to tease her more which caused her to furrow her brows. Not wanting to push things I got off her getting back up on my feet. She seemed surprised by my actions fully expecting me to tease her longer.
Stretching my hand out I pulled her up in one smooth motion causing her to jump slightly. Lucky for her I was there to catch her in my arms that have been toned through relentless training sessions. Now in my arms, her scent became more clear reminding me of daisies.
She didn't let me hold her for too long stepping back to distance herself but her sweet scent still lingered. Smiling at her I observed her features more closely wanting to be sure that it was really her. Abigail Jacobs but I'm not supposed to meet her yet, then again she said that her family is from Florida.
"what are you looking at?" she questioned after taking a moment to compose herself. I can tell she is getting increasingly annoyed as her left brow twitches ever so slightly just like in my memories.
"Your eyes are almost as beautiful as mine," I told her wanting to compliment her but I chickened out in the end. "Is that even a compliment?" She questioned no longer bothering to hide her annoyance, clearly not appreciating my compliment.
"Yes your eyes are as beautiful as my mums, don't tell her I said that though,"
"O'okay," is all she said with a slight blush and a hint of embarrassment after seeing how serious I was. "I'll be going then," She continued immediately turning on her metaphorical heels which are in fact suede boots.
"hey where are you going," I exclaimed quickly following after her not wanting to end our interaction so quickly. Since I met her here I'm not willing to let our first interaction end so quickly
Thus I followed her around the creek engaging in mostly one-sided conversation as I tried to get her to open up to me. I didn't take her cold attitude to heart since she was like this when we first met at college. She is one of those people who are always serious and goal oriented and she is a bit of a nerd if you ask me. From what I can remember I've never seen her without a book on her person and judging by the book shaped imprint in her side bag that hasn't changed.

[Black Creek, August 12th, 20:00]
Sitting around one of the few campfires set up in the creek clearing Hakim could be seen silently reading a book. The book was titled The Wanderer a romance novel by best-selling author Robyn Carr usually preferred by girls and older women. However, at this moment he was seriously reading it, fully engrossed in the book finding similarities in Hank's inner struggles and his own now that his future self's memories merged with him.
Since assimilating his future memories a few months ago he has been struggling with his more mature thoughts and his adolescent instincts. He has been channelled his inner contradiction into improving himself but ever since meeting Abby, he struggled more. Memories of the time they spent together and how she practically rescued future him from depression isn't something he could easily brush aside.
The reason he resonated with the book is due to the fact the main character is a person who feels lost. Dealing with the loss of a friend resonated with his quite literal memories filled with deep loss. Sometimes he questions whether he is dreaming, as he would have moments where future memories overlap with the present. However, he was mainly reading Abigail's book to stop her from ignoring him.
So seeing the woman to whom he owes so much right in front of him he can't help himself wanting to get to know her. Actively trying to get close to a girl isn't something he has ever done but something about her has him hooked. That is despite the fact she doesn't dress outwardly pretty choosing to wear a baggy sweater and bring a book to a cookout.
Any normal person can tell that she just doesn't want to be bothered, yet here he was simply enjoying her company. That is despite the fact he had to annoy her and tease just to keep her attention. At some point, he was questioning his chams as the girl in front of him seemed just blocked it out.
