Chapter 17 Line In Her Skin

"Come on,"

A light shines over Judy as she looks at the body, thats is Claire.

"Dammit,"

Judy watched the screen monitor shut down,

"It's annual shutdown,"

Judy slid back and got out of the chair,

"Let her be ok," She thought

Judy took the wrap off her shoulders and pulled it away from her, She watched the robot arms come to life,

"Updated completed,"

She smiles,

"Well, continue the rebuilding stage," Judy said

They continued to work on her building, once was lost in her head,

"Her backup was used last time she..."

Judy looked at her form still, but. She looked at the monitor, finding her artificial brain function acting off. They lowered before raising.

"They are sleeping,"

A voice called through the room, Judy turned to it and found her nephew leaning on the door frame. He walked into the room until he stood next to Claire. He lays his hand on the table and asks Her, "How has she been?"

"She's been rebuilt and checked for any damages, none were found," Judy said

He looked at Judy,

"But," Eurus said

Judy keeps looking at the monitor of her brain waves. He moves next to her looks at the monitor and touches the screen, making the graphs pulled out of it, in to his hands. Eurus looked at it, analyzing it, and he stopped, startled by the graph.

"That's not right... Is it?" He asked

"It's not for her. It was human, well close to human as possible," Judy said

Judy stared at the graph, watching it spike up, Claire yelled in pain. I'm moving around trying to get it to stop. Eurus and Judy ran to her side,

"This isn't normal. It can't be a bug in her system, can it? No,"

Judy ran to her computer and went into Claire's system files. She scrolled, looking for the answer, Eurus tried to calm Claire down, but her screams got worse. Judy keeps looking for any corrupted code as Claire screams,

"What's happening!"

"Auntie!"

Judy looked back to Claire, convulsing on the table, the arms of the robot arms holding her still, Judy looked back at the monitors and found an unfamiliar code. She held and clicked the code, saving it, before deleting it. Claire froze in her convulsions. Eurus pushes her back on the table and looks at the robots, saying,

"You can let her go. She seems to be fine,"

Judy stepped away from the computer and walked to Claire, looking for any sort of damage, Eurus watched Judy touch her head, asking the computer,

"What happened?"

"The android has a bug implanted in her codes,"

Judy placed her hand on Claire's head. She flinched away from Claire feeling her hand burning,

"There seems to be unknown footage found in the security footage, but it's strange,"

This piqued her interest.

"Send me that to my office," Judy spoke

It gave her a response and turned to Claire, scanning her once more,

"Eurus, come with me," Judy said

They walked out of the lab towards her office. walked by the library. However, they heard something from the hallway.

"That's Shai. She's been looking into some history book," Eurus said

"That's not new," Judy said

Eurus walks next to her, noticing how tence she is. He saw her fase noticing how frustrated she looked, He decided not to bug her about it. Maybe later,

"She has been looking for a way back," Eurus

They stopped at the door, Judy was reaching to open the door, but Eurus opened it for her,

"Thank you, Eurus," She said

Judy walked in, hearing her nephew say,

"What do you think what in the video?"

Judy sat in front of my laptop, and Eurus stood beside her staring at the computer,

"Whatever it might be, where about to find out," Judy said

Judy logged in, and immediately the code popped up, Judy clicked on it, and a video showed.

"Shai,"

Shai looked up from her book, and she went back to reading her book, ignoring the voice. the figure didn't appreciate this and picked the book from her grasp, glaring at her. Shai sat up, looking at the figure,

"Yes, what do you need?" Shai asked

The figure is a surprise,

"I'm stunned. You're talking to me?" The figure said

Shai gave him a bewildered look and asked,

"What do you mean by that?"

The figure moved next to her, closing her book and setting it to the side, He looked at her.

"After everything you have heard, you don't want to tell me to go away? To never come back into your life, to let you find your way home," the figure told her

Shai sat up,

"I'm still frustrated, yeah, but what good will it be if I just sat here," Shai said

Shai grabs her book back and lays back with the book, covering her face,

"Bitter and anger, yelling at you to go away... it will do nothing," Shai says

Shai looked at the book, feeling a void in her chest. She knew that this was true. If she was to find a way home, she would need to work with the figure. Shai placed the book on her chest,

The figure turns his head to her, he is shocked but he wants to ask her.

"Why?"

"Why what?" Shai said

The figure turns to her,

"I already told you what I know,"

"Anger, Bitterness, Pain, Hate. It hurts the soul, corrupts it absolutely," Shai continued

The figure stayed there, quit. Shai was something he hadn't worked with before. An honest being, not wanting for those negative emotions to make her something she's not.

"You are different," the figure let out

"I've heard one too many times," Shai spoke

Shai got off the coach and placed her book back on the shelf, Shai wondered to herself,

"What does he want to talk about now?"

The figure got up from the couch and went in front of Shai, he held out his hand to her. Shai stared at him, uncertain. Shai set her hand in his. The figure nods and maked a light appear near them, The light seems to be controlled by him. whirling around in the library above them,

Shai stares at it in wonder and asks,

"What is that?"

The figure pulled his hand away, raising it to the light and drawing it to him. The flight landed in his hand,

"This is energy," the figure told her

Shai lets out a chuckle in unbelief. She has seen lighting and fire as a form of energy. But this is something completely out of her skill set,

"I'm sorry it just," Shai says

Shai looks at the ball of energy. It feels familiar to her. not the figure but the ball of energy itself.

"I know it may sound weird, but I'm showing you this for a reason," the figure expressed

"For what?" Shai asked

The figure looks away from his energy and moves his hand to her. He places the ball of energy in her hands. Shai jolted up. A shock of that energy went through her, making her jittery.

"What did you do?" Shai inquired

The figuer looked sternly at her and said,

"I just help wake up yours,"

Shai moved away from him, holding her hand that felt on fire but didn't burn her. She sat back down on the couch. The figure didn't want to look at her, deciding to leave her with these words,

"I apologize, Shai,"

Shai looked at him. He noticed the look in her eyes. She knew something would happen of this caliber.

"I had no choice... I tried to convince them to wait but they didn't listen. only to have them turn it against me. These people creep themselves into this system to destroy it." The figure says

The figure disappeared.

Shai looked away from where he was to her hand, and what she saw scared her.

The lines in her skin glow,
