In an unnamed mountain range, at the same old temple, there were gigantic trees and vines all around that shot up into the sky and reached toward the moons. Darkness covered the area and made it seem dull and cold.

A bonfire was burning in the old temple and the dry twigs and bamboo would occassionally explode.

The bonfire lit up the darkness. There was no light around and if one hadn't lit up anything, it would have seemed really terrifying.

But even the bonfire only lit up a small region and the other areas weren't lit up at all.

Zhong Zi Qi wasn't afraid. He was a cultivator, a strong one at Legend Realm. He was about to reach Grandmaster Realm and he had a bunch of Celestial Artifacts protecting him, so he wasn't afraid of those evil spirits.

The bonfire burned. He closed his eyes and used his cultivation technique to improve himself.
