He held in the laugh at the determination on her face and threw an arm around her shoulders to lead her down the hall to his condo. She was immediately distracted by the wall of windows that fronted his living room, walking to them and laying a gentle hand on the glass that separated them from the twenty story drop below. The snowplows were out along with the sanding trucks and she seemed fascinated by the blinking lights that scattered light on the piles of snow that the plows were scraping up.
“I have never been so high,” she turned to him briefly before turning back to the windows. “It is not unlike the Ferris wheel, just as exhilarating.”
