3 Chapter 3: Defeat the team captain.
"Ryan, if I've known he was so fast then I won't play him next time" Daniel Cullina said while looking at Ryan Elimquist. Daniel Cullina is a white defender who's the most handsome in the team whose also popular with women and a student of engineering department. He isn't pursuing basketball as a profession but play to enjoy the appeal of college girls or basketball.
Daniel's temperament is to some extent the behavior of the Beavers team. Caltech is known for its strength in natural science and engineering; it's often ranked as one of the world's top-ten universities. There are 22,930 total alumni in the U.S. and around the world. Twenty-two alumni and 15 non-alumni faculty have won the Nobel Prize. The Turing Award, the "Nobel Prize of Computer Science", has been awarded to six alumni, and one has won the Fields Medal.
So for NCAA team players, basketball is a start for their lives and destiny. Except for Matthew Della Torre, he's the team's ace and decided to go to the NBA. So every game this season will gather a lot of scouts to watch and he must live up to expectations. Now the outside regarded him as a strong contender for the lottery shows this summer's draft.
"Hey, Jayson! Let me also play with you some Singles." Matthew said
Jayson was feeling little conflicted, he already played singles with three teammates a total of fifteen balls.
"Okay, let me rest at least five minutes" said Jayson to him
"We will have five goals to win" Matthew was determined and passed the ball to Jayson after the five minutes of rest.
The penetration ability that Jayson showed exceeded his expectations. He's a triumphant person and the leader of the Beavers team. As a player who will soon join the NBA as a lottery show. He must leave a legend in the training hall to the younger brother in front of him.
"You pick the ball first" Matthew passes the ball Jayson, then he turn and said to the players watching to the side. "Look, this is the correct defense should be."
Jayson took the ball and adjust his breathing. He took ball to the three point line and was full of confidence in himself. His advantage is his possession of the ball and he likes to play with an opponent rather than shooting all day long.
As he stepped forward, he then increases his speed and the dribbling pace. Matthew bent down and follows direction of progress of Jayson. His height is more than two inches higher than Jayson; Jayson's is six feet five inches which is one meter ninety-six centimeter. While Matthew's height is six feet seven inches which is over two meters and if you add his upright hairstyle, his higher than Jayson by at least five inches.
Jayson began to change direction from right to left while increasing his speed and dribbling, then he saw Matthew losing his center of gravity. He takes this opportunity to make a breakthrough to the right side, at this moment Matthew thought of the NCCA's most famous point this season, Chris Paul. He even thought of Jayson sitting at team's bench and he can easily break into the top three players.
As Matthew withdraws from his foolish thought, however Jayson already made a breakthrough in his defense and rush to the basket. He felt his sense of balance was disrupted. Matthew tried to stop Jayson offense by stealing the ball but he unknowingly sitting his ass was already on the floor.
Jayson reach basket, he jump quite high and made a board breaking two-handed jam that shakes the ring violently for a few seconds.
There were some cheers on the sidelines and no matter what the situation; the success of the person who challenges a superior will always lead to excitement. Everyone was on high, as Jayson made an ankle-breaker which made Matthew fall his ass on the floor and a 180 degrees two handed dunk that almost broke the back board. There was a round of applause and screams on the sidelines.
Matthew could only raise himself, shake his head and smile but admit that Jayson ability is already high to play in games and the teams needs him after he get drafted to NBA.
"Jayson, I'm very happy that you're here this time coz we will be facing UCLA our most important opponent and only by defeating them, we will have a opportunity to enter the top 64!!"Matthew said after tapping Jayson's shoulder.
He has a high expectation on Jayson and thought that he could bring the Beavers team to a higher level. However, this showed the burden Jayson will be carrying in the upcoming game. He showed Matthew his best and couldn't help but lay down on the floor due to high-intensity defense is difficult to adapt but this changes everything after obtaining the system.
"System, are you still there?" Jayson mutter in his mind.
"The mission is a success and how will the host distribute the ten points reward?" system said.

"I have to go to coach to tell him Jayson's recent progress and now the emergence of this guy will help the winning chances of Beavers much higher. Coach worrying the next game UCLA will be much less and entering the national top 64 will be the real challenge... March Madness, here we come" Matthew said while walking towards the office.
When Matthew was excited to find the coach tell him amazing news but there was already a man who walked into the head coach's office. This man's purpose is also Jayson but his only there to get Jayson out of line-up of the Caltech Beavers team.
