Recovering the lost disciples

"On your left!"

Xin Feng and Hua Mei were running on the roads of the Seven Soaring Sects. There weren't many people outdoors, since the morning was still young. After running for more than ten minutes, Hua Mei still couldn't believe that Xin Feng had surpassed her regular running speed that quick.

"You sure are fast in everything, huh? I hope that's not the same in bed."

"Haha! If you mean how fast I can take care of my opponents, then… You're not wrong."

"Ha! Good, good… You think you've already beaten me with such lame performance. You'll have to do better than that!" Hua Mei mocked, before she slapped Xin Feng on his back and overtook him in speed. The two of them continued chasing after each other within the sect, until someone interrupted them.

"Get out of the way!" A carriage came racing in the direction where they were running. Hua Mei didn't care to move due to such disrespect and simply poured out her killing intent to scare the horses.

"What are you lot doing?! The king is seeking an audience with the Seven Swords, and you underlings dare to block our path!"

"Did you mortals forget where you stand?!" Xin Feng took the initiative to talk, as to hold Hua Mei back from starting a bloodshed. "You do realize that you are within an area filled with immortals who can crush you all with a finger, right?!"

Xin Feng looked at the knights with a threatening gaze, mocking them for their foolishness. "Don't think you can have the same arrogance as you have in your own kingdom! Now, go before I cut your heads off!"

The words Xin Feng spoke made sense, and because of his words they had realized how insignificant they were. Hence, the two people within the carriage and the three guards on their horses, drove pass them in silence. Due to the loud ruckus, a few disciples had gone out of their houses to see what was happening. When they realized what Xin Feng had done, they had nothing a look of gratitude.

"What do you think of my performance?" Xin Feng asked Hua Mei with a proud and smug look while he showed off his body in a jokingly manner.

"Tch! Yeah- yeah!"

A lot of gratifications were heard from the people around the two. Apparently, Hua Mei and Xin Feng were near the edge of the sect where the outer disciples resided. Xin Feng humbly accepted their gratitude, as he realized that the outer disciples would've most likely been afraid to cause a quarrel between nobles. The outer disciples were so pleased, that they invited the two to eat breakfast with them in the cafeteria. When they learned that Xin Feng was an overseer's equal, and Hua Mei a nascent realm cultivator, they were baffled and so worried, that they began talking to them with great respect. Xin Feng, who was the honest man he was, obviously declined them from such formality, and told them to treat him and Hua Mei as brothers. Hua Mei didn't mind that, and just nodded to whatever Xin Feng spouted.

After their breakfast, they ran back the same way they came from. The two arrived near the manor at the exact time the king stepped out of his caravan. The king had a bit of fear visible on his face, but behind it, one could see his anger as well. He eyed Xin Feng as if he wanted to eat him, before he stepped inside the manor. Within the walls of the manor, there were a few big buildings that the overseers used for separate necessities. They all lived together though, as one family.

In the sky, a young woman could be seen descending. Ju Li was the person who flew towards the King's direction to ask what business he had with the sect. When Ju Li arrived in front of them, the King and his guard paid their respect. All of a sudden, the king spit out his disgust for the two people outside the entrance, while asking who they were to do foul things to him. He thought that he had the upper hand when he saw Xin Feng and Hua Mei standing outside without moving an inch. But when Ju Li explained to him that they were guests from another sect, his shamelessness burst into its peak, as he began to scold the two. He suddenly stopped though when he saw Ju Li move the part of her outer robe that was hiding her hand, which was holding the hilt of his sword.

"U-uhm… Is- is there something wrong?"

"Oh, nothing much…. It's just that scolding our special guest, is akin to scolding us…" Ju Li replied with a dead smile, before she slapped the King.

"Your Majesty! How dare you!" The guards pointed their spears at Ju Li, which she simply broke with her slaps. She then proceeded to grab the head of the guard closest to her, and slammed it to the ground as she muttered, "Annoying…", before she continued with the other two, muttering the word "Ignorant" and "Arrogant" after each slam.

*Clap! *Clap! *Clap! "Brilliant! Something only someone as cool as Ju Li would do!" Xin Feng said with exaggerated amazement as he walked towards her along with Hua Mei.

"Oh… Hello, Xin Feng… Didn't know you were here." Ju Li replied with the most monotone voice, as a joke.

Alright, that's enough drama for today. We need to know the reason for the King's visit." Hua Mei interrupted.

*Sigh* "You wake him up then, since you want to know."

Hua Mei splashed some water at the king's face, and began her query. The King explained that he came in need of assistance, because evil red eyed cultivators had arrived near the populated villages under his jurisdiction. After his explanation, Hua Mei looked at Ju Li in wait for her opinion, which was a silent nod.

"Alright! We'll talk about this under eighteen eyes, and come up with a solution. Now count yourself lucky for us still helping you after what you did. Remember… We're doing this is for the people, not for you arrogant nobles. Now, shoo~"

The King and his guards left with the coachman, while the three went towards their home of strategy. With the connection the swords had together, Ju Li called the others for a meeting in the strategy room.

"They're faster than we thought…" Duso Wen commented when he heard their report. In the end, they came with the answer to send Hua Mei and Xin Feng towards that area to scout and defend that area, since the two were able to master mental techniques easily and had enough experience.

"Here's some teleportation talisman that will bring you close to the sect whenever you need to."

"Also, take this. In case you can't handle an enemy or if ExE appears, you would be able communicate with us. We'll send a sect leader or come by ourselves if such a situation ever appears."

Ju Li gave them a total of a hundred and two talisman, before they took their trip to the central region of Dhī shén jì. The two of them took the same mount that was used to flee from the Astral Project Sect, and were able to reach the central region within a few days. Fortunately. there weren't any flying beasts higher than the nascent realm, which was why they were able to make it to the central region without injuries.

Under Hua Mei's command, the fish-like mount flew carefully to the ground, as to not kill some of the weaker mortals that might still be alive. The village they were at, was the only village that had been affected by the charmed ones. There were no other ones when they had looked around from the sky, which made the two slightly relieved. Too much bloodshed would lower humanity's position in nature, due to the decrease in population. Quantity brought humans to the top, because the large numbers make up for the low chance of there being a mortal capable of becoming an immortal.

The two dropped down from their mount, as they went in search for the people that were still breathing. "Too cruel…" Hua Mei muttered when she saw the heads that had been turned to mush.

"So, no survivors then…"

*Sigh*

"We saw them not too far from here. Let's head there and prevent further casualties."

"You're right… Let's go."

Five charmed outer disciples were seen sprinting within the forest. They had a look of bloodlust, and the way they ran looked a bit inhuman. It was as if they didn't care about damaging their body.

"Mindspace! Expansion!" Hua Mei yelled to use the technique that would connect her mind with others in a mindspace. Xin Feng was brought along, completing the duo setup that would stand prepared in front of their enemies.

"You know you could just knock them out with a slap, right?"

"They're at the beginner realm…"

"I-Uhm… I just wanted to test out the technique!"

"Sure… Since you wanted to test things out, I'll just wait over here then. Good luck with your testing." Xin Feng said, before he sat crossed legged while staring at Hua Mei's face from his angle.

*Sigh* "Mystifying wings of Ulswright!"

Four broad-white-wings flew towards the five outer disciples that had no clue why the famous Hua Mei was in front of them. The wings flew around them, and when it had disappeared after flying around them for more than three seconds, the disciples became nothing but cut meat and bones.
