Recovery

I woke up in a hospital.

I frantically looked around for someone, anyone, who could tell me what happened when I was met with Recovery Girl.

"Oh! Hello ma'am." I greeted her. I sat up quick and paused, making myself dizzy from the action. I moved slower and slid out of the bed.

"Now, I think you should rest a bit longer. You only got here a few minutes ago if you hadn't noticed, you're still in your hero suit." She said.

I looked down to see she was right. I quickly left the room leaving her protest behind and looked up and down the hall. I turned a corner and ran into someone.

"Ack! Sorry." I looked up to see Aizawa-sensei and smiled. "Oh, hey. Where are the others?" He asked.

I noticed his sad gaze and unhappy eyes. He led me to a room where Nighteye was. Laying in a bed, all kinds of tubes stuck in his body. He looked really bad.

I quickly opened the door to see Midoriya, All Might, Bubble Girl, and Centipede in there.

"Nighteye no . . . . " I said approaching his bed.

He smiled at me.

"(Y/N), with your help, the entire operation was a success. I don't think we could have done most of the things we did without your help. Thank you." He said quietly.

"But I didn't save you. I didn't save anyone, how am I supposed to be a hero if I can't save one life?" I asked, my voice breaking.

All Might placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed reassuringly.

"You did plenty. And thanks to Midoriya, I now know the future can be changed."

I backed up against the wall, covering my mouth to hide my sobs. Aizawa-sensei gently pulled me closer to him and rubbed my shoulder.

There was a small commotion in the hallway and I turned to see Togata trying to fight his way to the room.

"Aizawaw . . . " I whispered pointing.

He looked at me, then out the window and sighed. He walked over to the door and told the nurses to let him in.

I nodded at him when he came in and left. Unable to control the tears the ran down my face.

I sat in the hallway, tears dripping down my neck and into my suit. A few moments later, I heard a bunch of sobs from inside and knew the terrible truth.

He was gone.

I smashed my fist into the floor and held my voice in. Trying not to draw the attention to my noise in the hallway. A few doctors escorted everyone out and shut the door. I felt their eyes on me as I didn't move from my spot on the floor.

"(Y/N) . . ." I heard Midoriya's voice. I needed to move quick.

I jumped up swiftly and sprinted to a nearby window. I opened it and jumped out, only to be stopped by Aizawa-sensei. He wrapped his cloth around my waist.

"(Y/N), no-" I heard his footsteps approach behind me.

"Aizawa." I said my voice tight. "I need a little time. I'll meet you back at UA." I kept my face turned away from him.

He started to pull me back into the hospital but I felt my heart pound.

"PLEASE AIZAWA, I CAN'T BE IN HERE RIGHT NOW!" I felt myself break again and tears overflow my face.

He set me on the floor and let me there for a minute.

"DAMMIT! WHY COULDN'T I DO ANYTHING?!?!" I shouted.

I was met with silence.

I may not have know Nighteye for long, but to see such a kind person who had worked so hard to saveone girl, and lost his life to do it, set me off.

"(Y/N), Let's get some rest." I heard Midoriya say.

I fitfully got up and quickly made my way back to my room. I threw myself down onto my bed and laid there, praying we could leave soon.

~Time Skip~

We were walking up to the dorms, about to walk inside when we were joined by Uraraka and Asui.

"Hey you guys! I didn't think we would get back so late." Uraraka called.

"Yeah," Kirishima said. "Feels like we haven't been back here in forever."

I kept silent and walked behind the others as we went inside. We were bombarded by our fellow classmates and we being hassled for questions. I quietly stayed behind the others until I saw an opening.

I quickly scrambled from behind them and to the elevator. Todoroki and Bakugou were the only ones who didn't seem excited to see us. I made eye contact with Bakugou and looked away when the elevator dinged.

I stepped in and went to my room.

I arrived on my floor, ran to my room, and slammed my door.

"Dammit, dammit, dammit, goddamn you Overhaul!" I screamed into my pillow. I couldn't cry anymore, so deprived of tears, I realized how dehydrated I was. I sighed, realizing I had to go back downstairs.

I quickly changed, pulling on some shorts and a long-sleeve shirt. I walked back out of my room and downstairs to be tackled by Mina and Toru.

"Ugh," I said getting up when they let me go.

"(Y/N) YOUR OKAY! Midoriya wouldn't tell us why you left so quickly and we wanted to come see you but strangely BAKUGOU stopped us and told us to leave you alone."

Mina wiggled her eyebrows.

"Got a secret boyfriend?" She asked.

"I got a secret pain in my ass. Her name is Mina." I said sarcastically.

Mina laughed and we walked into the kitchen.

"Oh, hey (Y/N), you okay?" Kaminari asked looking at me. He nudged my side and I smiled.

"Oh, I'm fine, just tired." I looked around the room to see Bakugou and Todoroki gone. Huh.

I thought about today's short event and chugged my water bottle.

"I need rest. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I went back to my room and was surprised to see Bakugou in front of it yet again.

"Firecracker, what-" I didn't get to finish before his arms were around me.

I didn't move for a minute, assessing what he was doing before he buried his face in my shoulder.

"I was so scared. Your the only person who ever made sense. Even when I heard your conversation with stupid Deku, your words resonated with me. Your flipped my world on its head and you drive me crazy. To know you could have gotten seriously injured like that-"

I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him back tight.

"I didn't know I mattered to people here. I just thought I was another one of your comrades. I didn't think people here would want to be friends." I said in his ear. His grip on me got even tighter a he dug his face deeper into my neck.

Recovery Girl had finally removed the bandages around my neck to reveal clean and new skin.

"Your neck's better." He said.

I laughed and pet his head. Surprised that his spiky hair was really soft.

"I wanna be-" He started but cut off when he heard footsteps approach.

He quickly let me go and shoved his hands into his pockets.

I turned around to see All Might.

"Ah, Young (Y/N). I was looking for you." He looked tired and I could tell he had cried for a long time. "Aizawa wants to see you." He looked and smiled at Bakugou. "Young Bakugou, are your prepared for tomorrow?" He asked.

Bakugou snorted and walked away.

"Course I am. The exam wasn't even that hard, they were just crappy judges. I'll blow half n' half outta the water." He turned a corner and was gone.

I waved to All Might and walked downstairs to find Aizawa waiting by the front door.

"Aizawa-sensei, you wanted to see me?" I asked.

He turned to me and sighed.

"We might have a problem on out hands." He looked at me and walked away. I was unsure whether to follow him, but did anyways.

We walked to UA and into the conference room. All the teachers were waiting.

"We wanted to discuss your meeting with Dabi." Nezu said setting a cup of tea down. "We find it very dangerous that he has a picture of you and the league probably is keeping a lookout for you. They already stole the quirk erasing bullets, so we need to be on our toes.

"I didn't want to, but with how much threat they pose, we need to draw them out." He looked at me. "And we need you to be the bait."

~Bakugou's Point of View~

I didn't tell her.

I growled in frustration that All Might interrupted us before I could tell her how I felt. I thought about her beautiful (E/C) and her long (H/C) hair. Her smile and laugh. Her determined face in battle. She drove me mad.

I looked up at my ceiling and thought of her burns.

"She's hiding something." I whispered.

I looked out my window to see her walking with Teach into UA.

"Why are they going in so late?" I thought.

I laid down and shook my head.

I needed to be at my best tomorrow.

~Dabi's Point of View~

I watched as the girl came out with the pro hero Eraserhead. The bandage around her neck was gone and her skin was clear.

I watched as they walked into UA and out of view. They were doing something pretty shady as far as I could tell. I stood up and called Shigaraki.

"What do you got?" He asked, his voice unusually unscathing. He must still me pretty cocky from he successful plan on the Shie Hassaikai.

"She's being brought into the school late at night. She got back from the Shie Hassaikai not too long ago and they're definitely up to something." I said keeping my eyes lasered on the building for the girl.

"Keep eyes on her. She knows something I bet. Do you let anything slip?" He asked.

"I was speaking to myself for a bit before she kindly let me know she was spying on me. I complained about finding members and I was leaving when I heard her. I think that's it." I said recounting that night.

"You idiot. They don't know much, but they aren't dumb. They'll figure out we're looking for members. They'll try to shut down as many villains in the area as possible." He groaned on the other side of the phone. I could hear him scratch his neck.

"Stop scratching and listen. Toga and Twice said her performance was most acceptable at the Shie Hassaikai. She's strong. Really strong. If we get her on our side, we have more than enough power to bring the heroes down." I said.

Shigaraki was silent.

"Then get her. Don't make stupid decisions, but do your best to set up a plan. But if they're really onto us, then let her some to us." He said.

And that's exactly what she did.
