Tamru raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean by suggesting that we change how things work?" he says. "Do you mean making sure he's at the bottom of the ladder? Or do you mean to make it clear that none of that racist junk flies down here?" He gives you a playful jab. "Or did you mean that you'd campaign for me as a new council member?"

You cringe. Tamru escaped down here because he had finally reached a breaking point with the cruelties heaped on him from white people above. You both thought, coming down here, that things would be better, but it turns out that the people down here have been apathetic about his needs and slow to address them. And of course, who knows if this Flynn guy will just pile on, too?
