My Roomate

I was surprised to find out that I received a scholarship to attend Hampton High.

I didn't want it! I already had plans to attend Omega Academy the public school close to my house.

When I told my parents they where mesmerized they were so happy for me.

I protested saying that I didn't want to go!

They told me that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and that I should enjoy it.

So here I am the new girl in the private-rich high school.

I should mention a few things about myself.

My name is Amelia Edwards but my parents call me Amy for short and I'm a fifteen-year old-girl who is really ticked off by the sudden school changes.

I have red hair and brown eyes I don't say I'm perfect because nobody is but I can say I'm pretty.

The outfit I am wearing is a dark pink top And my jacket light pink jacket tied to my waist while and for the shoes I wore boots.

I love my family Im an only child but I appreciate my parents for taking care of me.

It's barely December 5 2020 and it's freezing out here.

I shivered and looked at the front of the school.

Well, this is it...

I entered the school doors and I was amazed at the beauty of the school.

This was every poor girl's dream come true!

My worried slowly slipped away and I decided to relax.

I walked over to the front office and told the front desk lady that I was new here.

"Amelia Edwards? Yes you're here okay listen dear in this school you have roommates so you might actually make friends here..." said Sarah.

Roommates? Oh god

"Oh okay," I said.

"Here's your dorm number tomorrow at 7:00 am sharp you have to be in the cafeteria eating breakfast," said Sarah handing me a key.

"Thank you," I said nodding and walking away.

"Have a good day sweetie!" said Sarah waving.

Let's see who I got please let it be a girl!

"Dorm: 245

Roommate: Chase Salazar"

I felt time around me stop.

A guy?! Oh no no!

Am I going to be stuck the rest of the year with a guy?

This is going to be difficult.

You don't take surprises well don't you said my inner self.

You are one to talk...

Taking a deep breath I walked over to the dorm that was labeled 245.

I was nervous I didn't know how my roommate would be.

I opened the door slowly and said:

"Hello?"

Having heard movement I froze in place.

I tried to move out of the guy's way but I accidentally tripped and fell on top of him.

"Can't you see where you are going?" hissed the guy.

"I'm so sorry I didn't-"

I made eye contact with him.

Woah.

He was wearing a black hoodie with dark blue on it and ripped jeans.

For being a guy Chase was tall with dark brown hair blue hair dyed at the tips.

But what amazed me were those intense cobalt-blue eyes that he had.

My heart started beating faster I couldn't look away from those eyes.

I felt that he was looking into my soul.

He broke eye contact and cleared his throat.

Quickly I got up.

I told him that I was sorry and apologized again.

He just ignored me and slammed the door in my face.

When I fell on top of him I accidentally dropped my jacket and he dropped his sweatshirt.

Picking up my jacket I tied it around my waist.

What a Jerk!!

Who does he think he is to treat me in such a matter?

This is not going to end like this!

I'll find a way to get my roommate changed I don't want to deal with someone like him.

Who thinks that just because he has money he's better than my kind.

I already had a bad relationship with my roommate.

My temper is not to brag but I get annoyed real easy.

Sighing I packed my clothes away and decided to take a walk and explore the school a little.

While I was walking I accidentally bumped into someone.

The person was carrying a binder and when I knocked into them I accidentally made them drop their binder and papers were flying all over the place.

"Omg! I-Im so sorry! Let me help you!" I said trying to pick up the papers.

"It's okay really," said the girl.

"Im so clumsy Im so-"

I picked up one of the papers and saw that they were drawings!

This girl has the talent to draw!

"This is a nice drawing," I said.

"Thanks, I made it myself" she replied.

I smiled at her and continued picking the papers up.

"You...are new here aren't you?" asked the girl.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I am" I replied.

"I can tell my name is Shadow Star but you can call me by my middle name Jackie," she said.

Jackie had dark brown hair, light brown at the bottom and dark blue tips, and cobalt blue eyes. She wore a black hoodie and gray pants.

"Nice to meet you Jackie I'm Amelia but I prefer Amy," I said extending my hand out.

"You have a pretty name," said Jackie shaking hands with me.

"So do you!" I said smiling.

The rest of the day I spent all of my time hanging out with Jackie and getting to know her more.

Jackie showed me around the school and I liked the fact that we had the same age.

She was very cool! She knew how to do so many things!

One thing that got me curious was the fact that she also had the same cobalt-blue eyes as Chase.

Jackie looked like they could be related!

We had a lot of things in common that slowly my anger on my roommates' attitude from earlier.

Who knew that by making a new friend everything would get better?

So far everything is going okay.

I mean what else could possibly go wrong?

Everything!
