Afraid of Facing Rejection

 " am okay, why did you ask",

 Kara asked looking at him with inquisitive eyes.

 " nothing exactly, just wanted to make sure that you are okay,.. I was just surprised earlier with your reaction. Here have your keys ",

 Vince extending his hands that has the keys to her while Kara noded and collected the keys and mouthed a thank you to him.

** Kara's office**

 Time really flew so quickly,but someone's mind was still lingering back to the past.

 Vince words were still replaying in Kara's head which made her mind didteacted from her work.

 " what are you thinking of",

 Said a voice from the door which made Kara immediately face that way and a broad smipe appear on her lips.

 " Hi, Mrs Templeton",

 Kara said and the woman nodded in response.

 " just came to check on you and ask if you will like to join Tina and I for lunch, she came with her baby",

 Theresa Templeton,just recently got married to one of their share holder and she is pregnant with their child, Tina on the other hand got married about a year ago and she's blessed with a baby girl.

 She really do love to carry baby Talia because it makes her memorize how she'd carry her own child.

 But then looking at the work she has at hand,it gave her a second thought but then she decided to go with her previous thought.

 " yes, nothing could possibly go wrong if I take a break ",

    Dropping the pen she had in her hand on the desk,she adjusted her sweater then stood up, Vince present added to her consciousness of being vigilant about her showing her baby bump. She will make sure to find time to tell him about it.

    Theresa is in the same case as Hailey,she not aware of Kara's pregnancy, so she made a mental note of telling Hailey,Tina and her about it in the same day. 

  She followed Theresa out of her office and walked to the elevator,after some minutes they both got to the cantineen.

 In the cantineen, Tina can be seen with her baby and some admirers who happens work there too. It was after some time that Kara gets to carry baby Talia.

  Babbling words with her month as she blew a bubble at her, babies are blessings which made them precious to man kind, they stole your heart without even trying. 

   It made remember her baby and no matter what Vince will say about it,she will still keep it, she wasn't sorry about it and she will never be sorry for the pregnancy. It would have been a sad moment to be surrounded by people or friends as became mothers later and to wonder if ever she will get pregnant.

 Hearing some male voice behind her,.. Kara looked up and her gaze slashed with Vince's gaze, next to him was Ben Dan who was also surprised to see her carrying an infant wrapped in a flannel.

 " since when did you have so much interest in babies ",

 Ben muttered which caused Kara to hold her breath the release it. Seriously,Ben was becoming stranger than before, his he for some reason trying to sale her out to his friend Vince before she does or does he have other reason for his strange behavior. Clearing her throat,she said;

 " I have always loved kids,.. And am sure you know that I am incharge of the day-care committee.

 " OK",

 Ben said and Kara breath a sigh of relief, while Vince frowned.

 " it being long since I last visited,maybe you can take Vince and I on a tour around the day-care center",

 Ben said and again at that point Kara's breath hitch on her throat.

 " I didn't know you were interested, because it seems that you aren't the one to have a yet",

 Kara muttered taking her face back to the baby.

 " and the place isn't finished yet",

 Kara added;

 " but at least you can tell us about it, how it is gonna be in the future",

 Ben murmured something then made his way out.

Vince looked at his friend departing,he had questions for Kara, but then he thought he might be closer to his answers. The she held in her eyes when carrying the baby gave him a great deal.

 Taking her to a more secluded area, Vince blocked the exit and crossed his arm over his chest;

 ." Our affair was ended because I made it clear that I didn't want children, at least not for a long time",

 He said finally breaking the silence between them and Kara's eyes widen and some kin of guilt flash through her eyes.

 " Huh... No",

 " you don't have to deny it, it was written all over your face earlier",

 " don't be so ridiculous, I do love kids and that's it",

 " That's right,.. But then I told you that I wasn't planing to marry for some number of years,.. So I..

 " So nothing happened,.. Believe me when I say I wasn't planing to get married,so your lack of interest in it has nothing to do with us breaking off",

 Vince tried his best to remind cool even after the insult. Besides, she had not said that she didn't want to marry him, but instead she didn't want to marry at all.

 " Maybe we should continue our discussion upstairs ",

 Kara was starting to feel concerned,but he made a gesture with his hand that signifies no disagreement.

 " has any one told you how annoying you are",

 Kara muttered as she slid past him as he smile in her direction.

 " Really, no one had said that before ",

 " so everything is always going your way, doesn't it?",

  Kara said in a sad voice that even him hasn't heard of before. Kara's throat kept moving,he never had the intention of hurt Kara,at least not again if he has before.

 " you are just so worked up because you haven't face rejection before, at least not in a relationship that a girl decided to call off",..
