Chapter 20

After talking with Eve I went to bed once again at the base of her bed. I sleep for around 4 hours and wake up to continue on the rocking horse for Eve. The rocking horse is nearly done and I just have to carve out the details because it looks very plain. But after another half night of work Eve wakes up and stares at me expectantly. So I sigh and lol toward the door and say.

"Magic?"

"Yes! You shouldn't lie to a lady!"

"Of course Eve, let's go."

"Mhm!"

I walked out of the room and let her change. After the past few assasigation attempts I had a servant teach her how to change, so I don't have to deal with the risk daily. After a bit she walks out and we start to walk to where the guards train around back. We walk toward the center of the ground and the guards move to the side. Are they curious? Did they think I would kill a random person for fun? Again?

I may have been disposed of a guard during one of the magic test days. He was talking about Eve in a negative light, something about her being high on her horse. He didn't even survive one swing, the other guards looked afraid, but he started it! It was disproved for someone who would trash talk a kid. Anyways the guard could have parted for a few reasons, the most likely being fear, a close runner up would be to get on my good side. Magic is appealing! Why am I so interested in knowing why they parted? Does it matter? Am I thinking about it because my subconscious thinks it matters? Am I thinking too much? Probably!

We walked to the center of the training ground and the wanna be assassin was still tied up to the chair. He looks like he's asleep. How can he fall asleep when he could be killed at any moment? I have a few more magic questions then I will free him. If someone gets killed by god's child do they go to heaven or hell? That's the last thing he can check! I lead Eve to a few feet away from the tied up servant and ask her to sit.

"Are you sure you want to risk getting magic?"

"I'm the soon to be hero nothing bad can happen to me!"

"That's not what I asked, are you sure you want to risk your life doing this?"

"Yes, I want to do magic!"

"Then please sit down."

"On the dirt floor?"

"Yes."

"Can't you make him give me his chair?"

"Fine, you will be standing."

"Actually I'm ok with sitti-"

"I'm glad you want to stand."

"But my legs are going to get tired."

"You should have listened first, now turn around I'm going to touch the back of your head."

She turns around and I walk up to her. I place my right hand on the back of her head. I channel my magic into her head and direct it toward her main node, which is in her head like mine. It slowly fills her node, and it takes longer than anyone else I have attempted to give magic to. Which is probably a combination of me being super careful and her having a larger main node. After it fills I slowly direct it to the mini nodes leading to her arms. I start with her left and after I finish I more to her right.

"Alright, can you feel a spot of heat in your head?"

"Yes."

"Try to move it carefully, make sure to be careful, and remember being careful is your top priority!"

"Ok, I'll try to move it."

I check her internally and see the magic moving through her body to her hand. After it starts to feet the node I look at her hand to see what kind of magic she has. I wait and wait and nothing happens. Legit nothing. I looked at her internally to see if she filled up the node and she did! It's just not having an effect. Could she have light magic? Wouldn't that be really bright? If it's water there should be at least some mist right? There is no way it's fire or wind.

"Eve could you touch the ground?"

"Ok…"

She seems a bit bummed that her magic isn't flowing everywhere and making a huge display. But as she bends down and reaches toward the floor I hear something and the ground starts to move. Once her hand fully touches the ground a 5 by 5 meter wall of dirt flies towards me. I leap out of the way and rush to Eve, ignoring the gasps of surprise from the soldiers.

I see Eve and she looks pale so I quickly rush up to her and yell at her to stop her magic. She stops it from moving and falls to the floor. I catch her quickly and rush her to the manor. I jump past the guards who are guarding the manor and rush to Eve's room. I lie her on her bed and run to a servant so they get help. After a few minutes a person runs in and starts to treat Eve.

After an hour she wakes up and she looks at me and asks.

"What happened?"

"You passed out after using too much magic."

"So I used magic?"

"Yes I think you used earth magic!"

"Not fire?"

"Just earth."

"That's kinda lame."

"Lame how do you know what lame means?"

"You told me?"

"Oh. Extremely, don't use so much magic, you could harm yourself seriously!"

"Ok…"

I quickly ask the doctor or medical person if she will have any lasting effects. All he says is he's never seen something of this nature so he has no idea. Which may be because it's magic related. So yipee to magic! And all of the thing that come from it, like unknown illnesses.
