Story 7 The Red Priest and Blue Slime Chapter 19

When we arrived at the front of the village and saw the Lizardman contingent... Rimuru who was in her slime form sagged in my arms. "Jake... How did you know?" Rimuru asked with mental exhaustion already in her voice.

Gabiru with some kind of bright lights based under his feet was T posing with his head thrown back as he was talking to Rigurd and as we got closer, we could follow his words and Shion's steps behind us became heavier as she began stomping holes into said ground.

"You should all become my men! After all with the Orcs invasion into the Great Jura forest, you weaklings need the protection of the lizardmen who are the only faction that can resist the Orcs!" 

Wordlessly I gave Rimuru a look as I raised an eyebrow as the dumbass lizardman was still T-posing with his head thrown back.

"Uhm, Gabiru right?" Rigurd the leader of our goblins said slowly and finally Gabiru 'deigned' to look down at us and my lips twitched as he looked at us and whispered.

"Weakling, weakling, old weakling... Wow!" His voice went sharp as his eyes went to Shion and the massive cleavage she had open for her own comfort.

"Can I kill him yet?" Shion whispered softly and Rimuru had to seemingly think on it before she responded quietly out of the hearing of the lizardman.

"Nah, not yet at least..."

I coughed and tried to move the conversation on lest Rimuru kill Gabiru for being an utter goober. "Anyway, what did you actually want in coming here," I asked frankly.

Gabiru focused on me and his head tilted to the side and he seemingly spoke to himself for a moment before speaking more to everyone else. "A human? Nah, can't be... Yes! I heard tales of this Goblin village having tamed a great number of dire wolves, I want you to bring those dire wolves and their masters to me so they can become officers in my forces!" He announced.

And then even inclined his finger towards us as though demanding we hurry up and deliver them which made Shion visibly even more angry as the veins in her balled-up fists popped up.

But thankfully before Shion could go and inflict some 'Oni' grade violence upon the dumbass Rimuru spoke up. "Actually, we haven't tamed the dire wolves or anything. We just work together to make everything the best situation we can have."

Then Rimuru continued. "Ragna." And after a moment my shadow thickened with the massive wolf jumping out of said shadow and landing in front of us with his unamused face but feet away from Gabiru as Rimuru's words continued. "Anyway Ranga you can talk to him!" 

"Yes!" Ranga shouted with solemn weight and then the wolf's body became stiff and almost spikey as he snorted and I felt the weight of the strong wolf's murderous intent lash out toward the Lizardmen who almost all threw themselves to the ground out of fear of the wolf.

"I am listening," Ranga said coldly and after a bit of song and dance as Gabiru flattered the wolf lord, he then pointed at Rimuru who was in my arms. 

"So this slime is your partner! Are you saying that stupid and weak slime is your village leader!" He shouted with utter disdain in his voice and I couldn't help a manic giggle as Ranga... Was just a tiny, tiny hair away from turning the lizardman into a fucking short-lived squeaky toy.

'It's good Fenrir or Sif wasn't here... They don't have Ranga's patience as the leader of the lesser wolves.' I thought before Ranga snorted and his yellow eyes landed on me and he grinned.

"Indeed! Lady Rimuru is in charge of our great village, but if you cannot defeat her second in command then there is meaning in further discussion." He spoke making my eye twitch and I swore to enhance some fleas for drawing me into this issue as the lizardman looked at me with disdain.

"Oh some kind of mutt between a human and Maijin will fight me? Very well, maybe he will have some talent somewhere! Now you fight Gabiru, the heir to the Lizardman race and bearer of the blood of the True Dragons!" He announced as he elegantly waved a spear around in preparation to fight.

'Can he sense the Yatagarsu's flames and thus think I am part Maijin or something?' I thought before snorting and even though I would have preferred the canon path of Gobta kicking the shit out of him but the hobgoblin was nowhere in sight having gone out on a hunting trip earlier with his own wolf partner.

"Very well." I drawled out walking forward as the lizardman soldier's began loudly chanting Gabiru's name repeatedly while clapping their hands together. And the arrogant twit actually bobbed his head to the sound of the chanting like it was a sweet lullaby to his ears.

"You two may now fight!" Ranga said dramatically and without a word, thankfully for my own sanity at this point, Gabiru dashed forward with his spear held up and aimed to stab into my stomach for a non-lethal wound.

I waited while putting up a panicked expression and even turned my face and body half way to the side as though readying to run and just a moment before his spear reached me I loudly fake sneezed in the lizard man's direction but instead of snot or something coming out of my mouth, there was a pillar of black flames that smashed int Gabiru.

"Nooo! Jake you weren't supposed to kill him dammit!" Rimuru yelled and I couldn't help a chuckle as the flames broke apart to show Gabiru only lightly singed but clearly battered by the actual force of the explosion of flames impacting him while lying flat on the ground.

"I have gained better control over my flames Rimuru... It was literally not even as hot as sticking your hand in a campfires low flames for three seconds before I killed all the flames." I said dryly and Rimuru slime body jiggled before she yelled back.

"Why didn't you give a sign then? I thought we were... Going to have to kill them all or something." She finished quietly as Gabiru was helped back up by his fellow Lizardman who took off running with him back into the forest.
