Ayumi eagerly declared she would train Marxell. Both me and Marxell were surprised of Ayumi's sudden declaration. I could not help but stand upon hearing here. Her eagerness suddenly changed the instant that she took a glimpse of my face.
"What?" Her eyebrow was raised. "Are you both doubting my skills?" she asked me. A bit my lower lip then tried my absolute best not to irritate her. These days Ayumi's mood felt like a test of endurance. The last thing that I wanted to do was to annoy her. I blamed pregnant hormones; I know she loved me but man this woman can change her mood from happy to hostile. I took a deep breath then tried my best to give an appropriate response.
"No, love.... it's just that you're pregnant" I cautiously answered. She narrowed her eyes then alternately glanced at me and Marxell then pouted her lips.
"So? The pack doctor said both I and the baby are healthy I can still do my routines. Plus being pregnant does not debilitate you." she argued back, her face had a questioning look.
"I do not want to disturb you Luna, I am only asking Alpha Devon if I could train with the others." Marxell hesitantly interrupted.
"Nonsense" Ayumi said with a smile. "You are the daughter of the former Alpha of the Black Moon pack. I cannot allow you to train with others...." she said then placed her hands on her hips. "Besides, I have been there, the feeling of being lost. I know it all. Let me transform you to a better version of me." Ayumi said to MArxell.
"But Luna...." Marxell said then looked at the ground. She was so timid. She was a former member of a high-ranking family in a wolf pack, but she looked fragile.
"Do you want Caleb to train you instead?" Ayumi asked he, noticed she had started teasing Marxell.
"Oh no no.... Luna." I heard Marxell answered. She was waving her hand vigorously in the air, gestured disagreement. I tilted my head on the side then stared at Marxell's innocent face. Her face turned red; I could not help but smile.
"Why?" Do you not find Caleb attractive? Hmmm I mean he is capable. He is one of our elite warriors." I too started teasing Marxell. I side eye Ayumi who was clearly amused by Marxell. Marxell hid her face and bowed her head. Her ears were visibly red.
"I don't think the Beta will like the.... the..idea... tr... training me." Marxell was hesitant to answer. I could not take it anymore. My laugh erupted inside the room. Ayumi was smiling and Marxell was staring at me in disbelief. I took a deep breath then tried my absolute best to look serious.
"Yeah, I know...Caleb, he looked constipated right?" I said but Marxell looked at me in confusion. Ayumi shook her head in disbelief. I cleared my throat then wiped my smile off my face.
"Ok.... I will let Luna Ayumi train you." I informed Marxell. Then I glanced at Ayumi who stood by the open door.
"But if ever you feel tired, allow Caleb to step in." I instructed Ayumi. She nodded in response. I sensed Marxell wanted to say something, but she never dared to speak her mind out.
Ayumi started walking towards us when she suddenly jolted and was about to fall on her knees. I hurriedly jumped next to her and managed to catch her falling hard. I held her hand then wrapped my arm around her waist. Pulled her to stand up then ushered her toward the couch and let her sit. I knelt in front of her while she closed her eyes.
"Shit! I am going to kill those witches!" Alora suddenly shouted in our minds. It was deafening and loud. Her voice was full of rage. I took a deep breath to calm myself. I felt relieved that Alora resurfaced.
Ayumi opened her eyes but has Alora's eye color, blue. It signified that Alora was in control. I cupped her face then smiled at her. She too took a deep breath.
"This is the second time I was binded by witches. Do you know how frustrating it was not able to do anything?" Alora uttered angrily. "It was frustrating, even my human cannot hear me." Alora added.
"Shhhhhh.... shh...." I tried calming Alora down while trying to control Drew from surfacing. We were still with Marxell. Alora nodded then sit straight on the couched then glanced at Marxell who was looking at us worriedly.
"I know you! You're that girl from the west border...You looked beautiful." She referred to Marxell. "I know you're beautiful, but you were covered in blood and mud then..." Alora being her giddy self.
"It is nice to have you back, but can we have Ayumi back. We are still discussing something." Alora stared at me then nodded. "I am glad you're ok love." I said to Alora. Alora smiled at me then at Marxell then she gave the control back to Ayumi. Ayumi leaned to the couch and positioned herself to relax.
"Alpha, there are books available about witches in our library. We have vast books of history in the Black moon pack it might help us understand our situation" I heard Marxell. I stared at her then started to give it a thought.
"How about we train you first, allowing anyone out of the border is still risky. If you can defend yourself then I will be confident to let you retrieve those books from your pack library. But for now, let us train you with self-defense." I answered Marxell. She nodded in response.
The door suddenly swung open with Caleb coming towards us.... He froze when he noticed Marxell on the couch. Then he tried looking at me, but she was throwing a few glances at Marxell's direction.
"Sorry If I interrupted you Alpha, but I heard Alora screamed in the mind link." Caleb narrated. He looked self-conscious.
"Alora's Ok don't worry." I said to Caleb, assuring him. Then I glanced at Marxell.
"I am afraid that Caleb will be training you today." I glanced at Ayumi's direction then stared back at Marxell. I tried to look serious.
"Ayumi looked nauseated. So, Caleb you must step in." I added then glanced at Caleb whose brows were furrowed. Marxell hesitantly nodded then excused herself. She shyly glanced at Caleb who was clearly uncomfortable.
"Wait for me outside." Caleb instructed her with blunt affect.
