Gods... they are the highest of existence.
None could and would deny this fact.
Even the mad people pray for those who are in the Highest Realm. Ressuim knew and was aware of their Gods as these all-powerful beings are their creators.
Some of these Gods came down to the Low Realm to appoint Guardians after how many years.
The life on Ressuim knew about them and have experienced their holiness.
They are absolute and they cannot be disobeyed!
Everyone follows their rules. None could fight against the Guardians, much less these Gods.
Although there's a legend that a long long time ago, a mortal has defeated the Gods and ruled over them after mysteriously leaving.
But... pfft-! Who would believe that?
How can we, the creations on Ressuim believe such a blasphemous legend?
Just look at the Records of Lowes, the Guardian of Lowest. Although only the Apostles and High Priest/ess can hold this book, they spread the content of it.
Lowes guards the Gates of the Lower Realms so no Unforgiven could ever get out of the Lowest Realm just like how Highest guards the Gates of the Higher Realms so no possible Unforgiven could be given a chance to taint the Highest.
Although it is called the Lowest Realm, it is actually a place of beasts and monsters which are all called the Unforgiven.
These monsters have once tried to go against the Highest. All of them were once the rulers of the world, only lower than the Guardians. They became blinded with power and tried to challenge the Guardians with the intent to defy the Gods!
It is akin to going against the Highest!
Thus, they were banished to the Lowest Realm to suffer for eternity to last. Lowes guards them and says in his, the Guardian of Lowest's record, that these Unforgivens had long repented as they burn in flames. However, their actions are irredeemable and they could only suffer for eternity.
It's... a very scary place...
"Boy, you are very faithful, here, have something to eat!" an old vendor happily threw a purple fruit towards the young layman who kneels in front of stone statues.
There are twelve statues on the platform, each representing the Guardians. Beyond them were much bigger statues. Their brilliance brings peace over the city! Their heads could be seen even to the neighboring cities behind the mist and fog!
They are the Gods! The ones who govern everything!
One can insult their brothers, their sisters. One can slap their parents. One can spit on their rulers. One can try and kill the Guardians as long as it is personal. However, no one, not one being can speak ill against the Gods!
Above those Gods is only one, the God of Highest, Goddess Shiena!
"Get Shiena down here, I want to talk to her." and now, in front of the ten of the Twelve Guardians, a man called a God so that he can speak to her.
What is she? Is she a servant, ready to abide by your call?
Even Life, the ancient who was trembling became fierce.
"Are you perhaps... talking about the God of Highest, Goddess Shiena?" Spirit asked.
"Yep, if I remember correctly, only you, the Guardians can contact them, right?" Ayensi said with a tone of as-a-matter-of-fact, "So call Shiena to meet me. Tell her it's Ayensi."
The Guardians looked at each other. They all have complicated relationships. Some like each other but some want another dead. But if it is about their Gods... no one can talk to our Gods like that!
"Looks like Lowest will have a new prisoner." Power stepped forward, rage filling his face. The ground shook and his foot that slowly stepped onto it created a web crater.
No one said a thing.
Even the Guardian of Peace didn't want to stop this chaos for he himself wants nothing more than to put this otherworlder to suffer in the Lowest!
Spirit stepped back. She can call Goddess Shiena but why would she? Calling a God needs preparation. They would have to call every creature in this world to prostrate first before they call any of the Gods.
The wind blew strong... and stronger.
Clouds covered the sky, making the land dark. The far mountains and trees, the floating lands in the sky were all eaten by the darkness.
The creatures living there all panicked as they realized this is the wrath of a Guardian. They knew the whole land will be destroyed.
The king of those flying creatures immediately left their kingdom in the sky. There's no hope of saving it... because a Guardian had begun to move.
The High Priest/ess and Apostles all felt this terrifying sensation. They amassed the people and called the kings, emperors, rulers, and conquerors to all bow down to the Gods, wishing for the Guardians to succeed.
None have deficient faith. All of the creatures kneeled for they knew that the Guardians will succeed.
Power took his battle-ax behind him. Just waving it chased out the wind. Its weight was heavier than a mountain.
As the Guardian of Power, as the one who brings back power to the world once it is out of balance, how can he be weak?
"Don't kill him, he has to suffer in the Lowest Realm." Death with the long red hair reminded.
"I know..." Power unstoppably walked towards Ayensi like a titan, "I'm pretty sure this one is another Unforgiven, he wouldn't die but I'll incapacitate him."
In the eyes, due to his overbearing aura, he looked bigger than he actually is.
"Ayensi Sole Tiowen. Do you know who's the name you just spoke of?" Power looked down on him.
"Goddess Shiena, God of Highest, of course, I know her. That brat is still alive, no?" instead of being intimidated, Ayensi recalled the time when he was the Godking of the Highest Realm.
"..."
"..."
The Guardians looked at each other first as they reach another mutual understanding. There will be a new Lowest Realm after this, specifically made for this man.
"So you are not an idiot, you actually look... down on the Gods." even Power himself cannot put the words in one sentence.
Each Guardian holds great reverence towards their Gods. These Gods came down to them and appointed them as Guardians back then, showing them what true invincibility is.
"Look down?" Ayensi mused, "I don't think that's it. They're all very strong... it's just that, compared to me, they are all too weak now."
Power has already raised his battle-ax. It was their Gods who created the world for them. It was Them who gave them life, food, shelter, and everything!
"INSOLENCE!" not just him, but even all the Guardians on the back shouted in pure anger.
The battle-ax struck down. The ground, the clouds, and the tallest mountain in the Kresia Continent, Mt. Matoh, they were all split in half.
An injury befell on Matter, but it didn't care as it immediately healed itself for it is too small
Thinking that this might finish the calamity since Power himself acted, the Guardians were about to talk to each other when-.
"Actually, now that I remember, why are you all not kneeling to me, Ayensi Sole Tiowen?"
