Chapter 7

The two brothers made their way through Awerkok's room where everyone else was playing with whatever was lying around, Awerkok looked around confused. What is this place? It didn't seem like a house, it seemed more like a warehouse... Or maybe a basement?

"Where are all these stuff from?!" Asked Awerkok looking around his surroundings,

"There's stuff here! You've never seen anything like it!" Explained Aaron excitedly pointing at random things laying around his bed.

"How many of those were you carrying?" Asked Awerkok curiously looking at the bags of junk.

"All of them!" Answered Aaron quickly putting his arm in the air, "we were doing research for the party and when we found a bunch of stuff we didn't want to leave alone. Oh and that box you picked up earlier is the last thing." Explained Aaron pointing at the large cardboard box near his foot

"Woah I thought the boxes we bought only had two things! Why would there be so much stuff?" Questioned Awerkok looking at the items in confusion,

"That's for me and Kaelian to decide what we actually wanted! And we do that whenever our friends bring over more stuff" Said Aaron moving closer to Awerkok so that he was standing right in front of him,

"I think I'll take a closer look at what's in the last box. Do you mind if I open it?" Asked Awerkok raising his brows

"Knock yourself out!" Smiled Aaron nodding his head vigorously,

Awwerkok walked over to the box, he picked it up carefully not wanting it to break and then brought it into his room. Carefully sitting down he opened the top of the box, he saw a lot of clothes and some boxes of toys, Awerkok lifted one of the small toys to inspect it, it looked like a bunny with black fur. As Awerkok played with the toy it made a funny noise, he put the toy on the floor and picked up another one, this one looked like a dog covered in a thick layer of fur. When Awerkok lifted the second animal up to his eye level he noticed a big scar over the animals eyes causing him to flinch slightly,

"Why are you shaking?" Asked Aaron as he peered over Awerkok's shoulder,

"N-nothing" stuttered Awerkok feeling the tears welling up in his eyes. Awerkok placed the small dogs back on the ground and wiped away his tears, "I-i'm sorry, i'm n-not usually a crier." Replied Awerkok trying to hide his sniffles

"It's okay" Said Aaron placing his hand on Awerkok's back, "you can cry if you need to"

"T..Thank you" Said Awerkok quietly smiling up at him,

Just then both boys heard footsteps coming down the hallway, Awerkok watched as Aaron quickly walked behind the couch where the family picture was, he was hoping they wouldn't see it. As soon as the footsteps stopped outside the room Awerkok felt two pairs of eyes looking at him.

"Who's there?" Asked Awerkok, his voice cracked from crying,

"It's just me Awerkok, it's me! Don't worry I'm not gonna hurt you," stated the first voice in a soft tone, it belonged to a woman,

"Is that your mom?" Asked Aaron softly,

"Mhm," replied Awerkok turning his head around slowly and looking at the woman who was staring right back at him, his heart dropped when he recognized the woman in the photo.

She was standing across the hall from Awerkok and staring directly at him, she seemed to be holding her breath waiting for him to recognize her, Awerkok stared at his mother, she looked different, she looked older. She was wearing an orange sweatshirt which was hanging off of her frame loosely
