The girl's eyes trembled as she wondered what had just happened to her and the guy appeared in front of her and she glanced at him as her vision was getting blurry and his eyes glowed brightly as he looked at her and she fell into her arms, unresponsive and his eyes narrowed.

"In the future, if I was one of your targets, I would be scared, you are going to get stronger and this is only the start of it, you have to consider your history and do what you must, this time without fail," He said as he lifted her up in his arms, then disappeared into thin air.

Hours later, when Adiria came out, she opened her eyes only to be met with the bright morning light and she immediately closed her eyes a little, so that it would adjust to the light.

"What happened?" She mumbled as she opened her eyes.

The girl exhaled deeply and realized that she was in her room within the palace and her brows furrowed as she looked around her, then flung up from the bed, in confusion.

"That guy... The one that attacked me I thought he was going to kill me, yet I am unharmed, what did he do to me? Why?" She mumbled before lowering her gaze, when she suddenly began feeling a little dizzy.

'Ah, is this the side effect of what he did? I feel a bit different,' She thought as someone knocked on her room door.

"Coming," She said then went to open her door, when she saw a woman dressed neatly standing before her, with parts of her body exposed and Adiria's brows furrowed.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Inspection, can I come in?" She asked as she walked past Adiria and the girl turned around to look at her.

'Why ask when you were going to enter anyways?" She asked and the woman turned to lok at her.

She had long brown hair, with blue eyes, slim, fair, had big breasts and seemed as though she was someone quite important.

"Sorry about that, I am only doing my job, we work directly under the emperor, we are here to help with everything that has been happening lately, so I am doing an inspection, now that you do, can I?" She asked and Adiria sighed.

"I understand, go ahead," She responded and the woman began searching around in her room, but unlike some would, she made no mess and did everything neatly, which kind of surprised even Adiria.

As she searched the room, one of the maids entered and Adiria glanced at her as she bowed her head to the woman, before turning towards the girl.

"Adiria, lady Anyel would like a moment with you, can you come when you are finished?" She asked and Adiria nodded then the girl left and despite having a lot on her mind, she knew she had to go and do her work.

The girl grabbed her clothes and went to freshen up, since she couldn't waste any time and it was getting late as well and the woman kept on searching.

A little while after, when she finished freshening up, she got dressed then exited the bathroom and at the same time, the woman had finished searching the room and Adiria looked at her.

"You are all clear, you are the new special servant right?" She asked.

"Special? I don't know about that but yes, I am new, I work for lady Anyel," She responded and her eyes narrowed.

"Why did you start working here?" She asked.

"Why do I feel like I am being interrogated?" She asked.

"Does that really matter? All that matters is how my questions are answered, you have no choice but to cooperate as well," She responded and Adiria sighed.

"People like you are such a pain, I needed to provide as well, experience life and I didn't exactly expect to get this job, if you want to know more, please ask away but you will have to wait later, I have work to go and do, please excuese me," She said as she walked past the woman.

The woman glanced at her then scoffed before leaving Adiria's room and the girl went to Anyel's chamber, where she saw the woman was waiting for her.

"Adiria, good morning," She said.

"Good morning, my lady, you sent for me?" She asked.

"Yeah, the events that are upcoming, I would like to make you my lady in waiting, you have done a lot for me, you pay will raise as well, can you stay by my side?" She asked and Adiria lowered her head then clenched her fists as the maids around her, stared at her, some with discontent.

'This is not good, I can feel some of their stares, but I want to rise in ranks, within this palace and I will use this as a chance to do so,' She thought.

"Fine, I accept and for those that are staring at me with discontent, do you want to say something? I am all ears," She said as she looked at them and Anyel smiled, seeing how observant the girl was.

"Good, let's go have breakfast then you can go to the troublesome lord," She added with a chuckle an Adiria smiled before going to work.

That morning, while working, not once was she feeling well but Adiria was determined to do what was necessary, for now she had more than one truth to uncover and she had begun realizing that there was something not quite right, with her body and intended to find out what was going on.

Later that day, Adiria had to take care of a few things for Sorang but when she arrived at his office, she overheard him talking to someone and he didn't seem pleased.

"You will not conduct any sort of investigation here without my permission, everything here is under my watch, your people will not move a finger without my permission, let alone touch anyone that works here," The young lord said to the woman who was searching her room earlier.

"Please excuse me," She said, upon entering and both of them looked at her and the woman stormed out of there, looking angry and that instant, she felt as though nothing good was going to come her way and her heart began feeling slightly heavy.
