For the time being, won't be in vain

After leaving, a little while after, they entered an office and the personal servers for the ones in the palace lined up and she joined them as well, awaiting the emperor's trusted one and Adiria sighed, since her body was in a bit of pain and it was only her first day at her new job.

As they were waiting, many were talking different things about the one she was about to meet and she wondered whether any of it was even true or not, so decided not to pay any attention to them, for she knew they were the type that likes to gossip.

After a few minutes, the guards bowed their heads, announcing the guy's arrival and as he walked past Adiria, his shoulder brushed against hers and he glanced at her with his eyes narrowed and a piercing look in them.

'Are they sure this is a guy?' She wondered as she glanced at him and how elegant yet stern he looked and she scoffed.

The guy was tall, slim yet quite muscular, had long silky hair, which was black but had a mix of purple to it, due to which it looked like dark purple, he had a slim face and gold eyes with red lining around them.

'Hey, is it okay for a man to look him?' She wondered as she lowered her gaze then sighed and he sat down by the desk then took out a book and began scribbling a few things.

"Good afternoon, guys," He said with a smile and all of the girl blushed while looking at him, even one of the guards outside.

Upon seeing that, Adiria's brows twitched in irritation and she took a step back, wanting to leave from there but knew she couldn't and as he looked at them, his gaze landed on her and his eyes narrowed, even though she was at a distance, she could feel his gaze piercing through her.

She glanced at him, looking right into his eyes, without any fear in them and a smirk appeared on his face, causing her to feel a shiver going down her spine.

'I am having a bad feeling about this, I feel like smashing his head in for looking at me like I am some sort of prey,' She thought then clicked her tongue and he saw.

Within the days she came to the palace, the one that had been looking her way for a while, even the guy she bumped into on the streets by mistake, was him and due to all of that, including her saving the child earlier, she had finally peek his interest, which was not a good thing.

"I know some of you are quite busy these days, sorry for taking up your time, but I have to speak to all of you, I was sent her by the emperor himself, to look over a few things, I will be the head here until I leave and I expect full cooperation in whatever I do here, from you guys, can I assume that I have your cooperation?" He asked.

"Yes, master Sorang," They responded and she sighed, while passing her hand on the arm that was bandaged and her eyes began closing, since she was a little tired.

"Now, there will be a few upcoming events and a lot of people will be here, I want you guys to prepare for that and right now there are many things happening lately, so I want you guys to do your job well and feel free to report to me if anything happens, I will be staying here for a while, prepare for the upcoming events, got it?" He asked.

"Yes," They responded as he stood up and looked at them with a serious expression on his face and a stern look in his eyes.

"Another thing, since you guys know there are more than one reason why I am here and most of which has to do with what has been going on with the kingdoms recently, I will just let you guys know, I might be easy at times but, if any of you even think of betraying your masters or harming others here and think you will get away with it."

"Whether it's a maid or one of the ladies you harm or whether it's one of you who betrays the crown, I will personally see to it that you are six feet under, am I clear?" He asked and they all flinched then bowed their heads.

"Yes, my lord," They responded and Adiria looked at him then bowed her head and his eyes narrowed as he looked at her.

"Good, I am glad you all understand what I am saying, you may take your leave, all except the new girl," He said and they nodded then left and Adiria looked at him, as did the man by his side, who was his assistant.

"My lord," She said and he approached her.

"Master Sorang..." His assistant mumbled as he leaned in closer to Adiria and she pulled back immediately.

'What the hell is wrong with him? I am going to sed him flying, for some reason, he is getting on my nerves,' She thought as he looked at her.

She was tall, slim, had big breasts, a slim waist, long hair, which was brown and cream in colour, but within the sunlight, parts of it could seem gold, she was quite fair and had a few parts that were tanned, due to her being in the sun a lot and her eyes were piercing brown, which was mixed with a pink and reddish hue and she had long lashes.

"Name?" He asked.

"Adiria," She responded.

"You are the one that saved the child earlier, right?" He asked as he stepped back a little and she sighed.

"Thank you for that, I have a question," He said.

"There is no need to thank me, I am just doing my job, go ahead," She replied.

"Oh? Your job doesn't require you to do that, you did it on your own, even though he was a stranger to you and even though it meant you could have broken something, I have to save that was brave, I saw the whole thing, tell me, did you notice anything strange?" He asked and she looked at him at the same time and his eyes narrowed.

"You are right, I did it because I wanted to, after all, no one in their right mind, who knew they could save him and had the ability to, would just let him fall, also, I saw nothing strange, if that's all, please excuse me," She responded then bowed her head and walked away.

"Looks like my time here won't be in vain after all or boring, this is going to be interesting," He mumbled with a smirk before walking away and his assistant followed him, quietly.
