Chapter 51 River's Whisper
After an explosion, Veer emerges from the ground, his hand bloodied and panting heavily.
*huff huff huff*
"Damn it, that motherf***er nearly killed me. The pain is unbearable. If it weren't for my mental barrier within 5 meters, I wouldn't have been able to walk, let alone survive."
Veer reaches into his bag and takes out a vial containing a dark green liquid. He drinks it down in one gulp. After consuming it, he lies down, his eyes closing.
An hour later, Veer's eyes flutter open. He gazes at the sky, where the sun is at its zenith. Slowly, he rises to a sitting position. His attention is drawn to the presence of two or three creatures resembling raccoondogs, but these creatures exude a more predatory aura. They fix their black and red eyes on Veer, as if they've found their next meal.
Upon spotting the creatures, Veer channels his internal energy and mental fortitude to prepare for a fight, but then he senses something else.
