Lanyo's Foes

"Impudent man creatures, you invade my masters home and slaughter his pets. You bring a warden to eat him and torture our brethren within that curse blade. You dare think you've won but this dungeon will become your tomb, and I will drink your souls as if they are the lifeblood of worthy prey!" Hisses a voice from the shadows as the two men press their backs together and look around the room in dread.

"We killed the boss, and the mini boss, and everything else on this level damnit! Was their a wanderer we missed or something?" Sage asks with a tinge of fear in his voice as Henwick notches an arrow that glows softly before firing it into the shadows.

"You used your abilities idiot. Dungeons familiar probably warned it that you guys eat things like dungeon cores and such and now its going defensive. If that's the case this will be its strongest creature. Good luck." Henwick says before both men seize up, their eyes rolling to the back of their heads before collapsing. Above them towers Gorask, a thin tendril attaching to each mans skull from the lanyo's wrist as the creature closes its eyes and smiles.

"Where am.....wait.....I know this place." The warden says as he looks around him. Small cottages and huts dot the landscape around him, farms filled with normal livestock living alongside large lizards or insects in between several larger clusters. The warden looks behind him and see's an expansive mansion made of grey stone and starwood, the front garden filled with plant species monsters roaming and settling into their homes.

"Sagey c'mon! The class choices are starting! After today we'll have adventurers classes and be able to go exploring it'll be amazing!" Says a girls voice from next to him.

"Trisha?! Is that you?? Holy...I thought I lost you! That whole thing must have been a horrible dream! Yes thats it.....lets go pick our classes!: Sage says as the girl looks at him oddly before smiling, her mouth filled with pointed teeth as she grabs his hand and drags him towards the mansion, all the while a shadowy beast observes with a growing hunger.

"Wait I thought the ritual was supposed to be in a cave nearby not the keep? Trisha what's going on?" Sage asks uncertainly as the woman pulls him through the front doors of the mansion and into a large arena, the stands filled with shadowy spectators as Sage looks down at himself and see's his dress and weapons as they should be.

"Sage....no....Damien La Croix.....for years your selfishness has pushed you towards acts of depravity and violence....now is the time to answer for your crimes..." Whispers the voice of Trisha.....her voice morphing from a giggling schoolgirls to that of a warped and twisted beast as her body sputters, the lively and budding teenage girl twisting into a grey skinned walking corpse, the indent of a spiked mace clearly showing on her head as she glares back at Sage with hate filled eyes.

"No...this can't be real! I remember now damnit! You were my first sacrifice for me to be a warden! You forced me to kill you damnit!" Sage cries as he steps backwards before hitting a wall of flesh. Looking upwards he see's a large creature towering over him, its tusked face grinning in glee as it stares deep into the wardens eyes.

"True but what of this beast, its body in its death throes as it was about to pass into reincarnation but instead you found it on its last breath and slew it, its soul trapped and tormented for years under your command. What of the other creatures you've hunted? From viscous beasts to innocent children, we know all you have done La Croix! You will suffer for your crimes!" Screeches Trisha as the shadows in the arena begin to form countless creatures, brutish beasts and small children. The young and old mixing with monstrous others as the souls of the spirit warden close in on the shivering man, each intending to take their pound of flesh.

------------------------------------------------Henwick----------------------------------------------------

The fae prince looks around and nods in acknowledgement as he watches the slaughter of his people. Each murderer wears the face of Chena or Sage as they viscously slaughter the civilians of his home.

"You do not despair at this sight. Instead you accept what has happened young fae. This is a rarity in my line of combat but a welcome one. I can see the thread that attaches you to my master but sadly I must eliminate the threats to him. Your spirit warden friend is already succumbing to the torment of his own guilt as he confronts those he has enslaved and cruelly imprisoned." says Gorask simply as he stands next to Henwick, watching as Chena holds the Unseelie queen down and forces her to watch as Sage guts the manservant, smiling evilly all the while.

"There's nothing to despair about the past nor is there a reason to dread my death. I knew once we saw that Rust Lord fall that we would die here. My only hope is the dungeons spirit or familiar will easily hunt these monsters down for their crimes." Says Henwick sadly as the lanyo's claw gently slides through his throat and his body dissipates.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'So this is....kind of darker than I imagined. I figured he would physically shred them not...this..' I mumble in awe as I watch Henwick's body dissipate in one screen while his physical body jolts once and then becomes still as blood flows from his throat.

On another screen it shows Sage desperately fighting a losing battle as wave after wave of creatures tears into his body, each new attack in this mental plane appearing as a wound on his physical form.

"It is dark but thats the power of a dread lanyo. Physically they are powerful opponents but when it comes to their magic its of a whole other level from other lanyo's. It connects them to their victim and allows the lanyo to read their minds and history like a book, picking each dreadful memory and using it to torture their victims. The only way to survive is to either endure to the end or locate the lanyo in this mental prison and defeat it. Truly a delicious show." says Eri as we watch Sage's arm wrench from its socket as a large humanoid covered in fur and bones smiles, its eyes glowing purple as it lifts the appendage to its mouth and savors a bite.
