I.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 (NKJV)

v22 - Then Samuel said, "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed man the fat of rams.

v23 - For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord. He also has rejected you from being king.

II.

Zechariah 7:8-14 (NKJV)

v8 - Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah saying,

v9 - "Thus says the Lord of Hosts: 'Execute true justce, show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother.

v10 - Do not oppress the wdow on the fatherless, the alien or the poor. Let none of you plain evl in hs heart against his brother."

v11 - But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.

v12 - Yes they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of Hosts had rent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of Hosts.

v13 - Therefore it happened, that just as the proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen", say the Lord of Hosts.

v14 - "But I scatter them with a whirl-wind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned for they made the pleasant land desolate."
