Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Manipulating.

The first names Jiran wanted to collect were from those in the earth kingdom. But unfortunately the Truthdealer didn't give Jiran the exact location he just said 'You can find them at the northern edge of the Earth Kingdom, in a small village'. Which was very vague since there are five villages on the northern edge of the kingdom that fits the description.

Due to that Jiran had to massacre three villages by hiring a notorious mercenary before he could find the village where those talented young earthbenders reside.

Which was a pity for the lives lost but it's for the greater good.

According to the Truthdealer the young earthbender that lives in this village has the greatest potential among all the living earthbender right now in the world.

In the future they just didn't realize their potential as they lived their lives here in this small village mediocrely. They didn't face any challenges, any dangers, anything that would give them drive to train their earthbending.

And instead they used their unlimited potential to earthbend in farming. That was the reason why he pities them.

So much potential, so much talent and yet it all boils down to them being a farmer. But thankfully he is here. Yes, he had to hire a mercenary to kill their loved ones but it's for the greater good.

If this didn't happen they would just live their lives without even being able to reach their full potential. There are a lot of cases like those too. Powerful and unlimited potential but they didn't manifest those in reality as their circumstances didn't need them to.

It was like the saying "Hell is the place where the person you ARE meets the person you could've been".

But no worries, Jiran is here. And he saved them. Saved them from mediocrity.

"Do you feel pain?" Jiran asked. The four children stopped their sobbing and looked at Jiran. They all nodded in deep sadness as if their head itself weighed a thousand tons.

"Do you know why this happened?" He asked again. And no answer came from them.

"This happened because there are evil and incompetent forces in this world. If the Earth Kingdom government weren't so incompetent then they would've sent any semblance of order here in this village and in every other village those bandits massacred. This happened because they are too busy filling their pockets that they forgot who truly matters, and it's you young ones" Jiran said in a firm voice. Their eyes widened as if the four children reached enlightenment. He was correct, Jiran was correct.

If only the Earthkingdom Government paid attention towards them they could've sent an army or any extermination force to destroy the lurking bandits but they didn't.

They were busy with their fancy parties and extravagant lifestyle that the people on the lower ring neglected.

"I am Jiran. My lifelong purpose is to help people overcome the tyranny the government has gripped upon their people. To eliminate evil and corruption. To make the world equal under one rule, my rule. That is my purpose and I want you four to become a part of it. A part of a greater future, one where no tragedy such as this will ever happen again." Jiran declared then he handed the four a fine and expensive looking scroll before saying.

"This is the finest earthbending scroll I have procured through various means. I know that the four of you are talented enough to learn this all by yourself so that is why I want to give this to all of you. Travel the world, learn, become the best version of you and become a part of my crusade" Jiran handed over the scroll to them and patted them.

"Are you going to leave us?" Kenshi asked in a sas and desperate voice.

"Sigh, I have no choice but to. There others that needs help just like you and I can't bring you with me when you are still weak"

"But we can get strong! Please take us with you!" Jorn pleaded.

"I wish I could, young ones but circumstances force my hand not to. Become strong, strong enough that no tragedy like this will ever happen. When you have reached your full potential, you can be a part of my grand mission." After hearing Jiran all of them could just sulk in their butts and hold their heads down in shame.

'If only we were strong. If only…' They thought.

"Do not sell yourself short. Just become better and when the time comes I will look for all of you." Niran said then he stood up from his seat and gave the four a hug.

"I am sorry for your tragedy and I mourn for your people's death. I am truly sorry" By giving them one last hug Jiran swayed his hands removing the mist completely revealing the corpses and the gore he had created.

But strangely there was no disgust in the children's eyes. Instead when they saw the corpses of the perpetrators a cold and silent anger showed in their eyes.

"This is the power that I possess. And I want the four of you to reach it, to achieve our dream of eliminating evil in this world." He offered his hand to them, and the four took it.

He pulled them up from the ground; as if a metaphorical gesture of him saving them from the ground and lifting them up anew.

"I will see you all soon" And with that another mist was conjured and he disappeared.

This is the first of the long and cruel journey for the betterment of all.

Jiran walked slowly towards the horizon, his sleeves fluttering in the wind.

'The cries of the dead. They are deafening but it's necessary.'
