Auxiliary Immortal

The world of immortal cultivation was always a grand one, filled with powerful swordsmen who could cut planets in half, divine doctors who could bring the dead back to life, and naturally the beautiful female cultivators who's single glance could stop the hearts of thousands of mortal men. Unfortunately for Minos, a poorly talented handy-man disciple of the Green Barrel Sect, that was a life he was destined to never know. That was until he figured out he actually was talented, though not in the conventional ways!

Activating his Omniscient Eyes at full force, Minos began browsing through books, using his split souls to split them up and study them separately.

When his mind reached full capacity, he would find a seat and give himself a moment to fully absorb everything.

This was different from the Lukalu peoples library, and Minos actually had the time to just sit back and absorb the information properly, so he didn't overwhelm himself, and just took his time.

Even then however, he still swept through the library at an incredible speed, his mind overflowing with a tremendous amount of information.

After consuming an entire bookshelves worth of knowledge, Minos rubbed his slightly sore head before heading home.

His mind was sufficiently filled at the moment, so now was the time to completely understand this knowledge and make it his own before returning to learn more.

However, just before he walked out of the Talisman Guild, he suddenly remembered something, changing his direction towards Jebron.

"Need something?" Jebron asked, a little confused as to why Minos returned.

"Actually I wanted to ask you about the sects in the area."

"Sects? Do you want to join one?"

"No, it's for my family."

"Ahh, I see. Well there are quite a few sects in the area, but you should know the talent requirements are very harsh."

"That's not a problem."

"Well since you're so confident, the sects will hold a grand recruitment in the city square at the end of the year. I can get the information for you if you'd like."

"Well then I'll thank you in advance."

"Haha, small problem, small problem. Give me a second." Jebron said, heading back into his office as he quickly prepared everything for Minos.

"Here you go. I also included some details about each sect to make things easier for you."

"Thanks." Minos said, reading the information as he headed back out.

'Fire Ascension Sect - Specializes in fire related skills and Nux, mid-tier in terms of strength and influence.'

'Demonic Beast Sanctuary - Specializes in training demon beasts, utilizing them in combat, mid to top tier.'

'Thousand Pill Forest - Specializes in alchemy and wood related skills/Nux, average strength but top tier in terms of influence.'

Reading through the rest of the list, Minos's eyes suddenly came to a pause as he noticed a sect that seemed perfect.

'Nine Yin Maiden Sect - A special sect that only recruits females. Its skills are versatile but are suited for women, making it a good option for your family. Its strength and influence are also quite strong, just slightly below the top-tier sects.'

Reading it, Minos realized Jebron seemed to have the same idea as him, including more information than usual.

However while Minos already thought this was the best option, the choice was ultimately up to Tinka and Rinka, and he would bless them no matter what they chose.

Arriving back home, Minos first gave his girls some hugs and kisses before calling them to the living room for a family meeting.

"What is it dad?" Rinka asked curiously.

"I was talking to one of my friends at the Talisman Guild and I finally managed to get some news about the sects, so I just wanted to ask you guys what you thought."

"Dad, I don't want to leave!" Rinka cried out, hugging Minos's waist tightly.

"Don't you want to make some new friends and see the world? Don't you want to be as strong as me?" Minos asked with a smile, picking his daughter up and placing her on his lap.

"Honey, don't you think Rinka is still a bit young to go on her own?" Tinka asked, worried.

"Well that's where you come in. I was planning for both of you to go to the same sect, that way you can watch Rinka." Minos explained.

"Me? Aren't I too old to join a sect." Tinka asked, still doubtful of herself.

"Maybe if you were a normal person, but you're a genius, so don't second guess yourself." Minos said with a laugh.

"Dad, why don't you come with us?" Rinka asked, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"I'd love to, but I'm afraid I don't have that kind of talent. Not to mention I wanted you guys to join a special sect that only recruits girls."

"Girls only?" Tinka asked, never having expected such a sect would exist.

"It's called the Nine Yin Maiden Sect, and it's quite powerful. Of course if you guys prefer to join another sect, that's your choice to make." Minos said, as he handed the list to the both of them.

"No, I think your choice is quite good." Tinka said after a quick browse through the list.

"How about we join another sect and dad can come with us?" Rinka suggested.

"Rinka, your dad isn't the genius you think he is. I only have this strength after fighting tooth and nail, but with my talent, it's impossible to join even the worst sect, much less one of the powerful ones." Minos said, trying to explain.

"No, that's impossible! You're definitely a genius dad!" Rinka said, refusing to accept the fact.

"You're right, but my kind of genius isn't the type that sects look for." Minos smiled.

"Then will you at least come visit us?" Rinka said, finally coming to terms with reality.

"Of course! And I'll bring plenty of presents too." Minos replied.

"Really? Pinky promise!" Rinka said, reaching her little finger out.

"Pinky promise." Minos smiled, hooking his pinky with hers before shaking on it.

"Well then, I guess we'll go to the Nine Yin Maiden Sect, but when will they start recruiting?" Tinka asked with a smile.

"At the end of the year, meaning we only have about four months to go. Since our time is limited, let's enjoy what we have left. So how about we start things off by heading out to eat?"

"Yayy!" Rinka cheered, always happy when it came to eating.

"Then should we take a walk around the park?" Tinka suggested.

"Whatever my Queen wants." Minos smiled, swooping Tinka in his arms, causing her to giggle.

"Me to dad!" Rinka said, jumping up and down.

Laughing, Minos tossed Rinka onto his shoulders, Tinka's waist held in his arms, the family walking off to the sound of laughter.

The next few months passed by in a flash and Minos decided to put his work on the backburner for the moment, enjoying every day he had left with his family.

With his free time, he turned the backyard into a playpen for Rinka, creating a large jungle gym, sandpits, merry-go-rounds, and all sorts of other fun things to enjoy, which made Rinka's harsh training a little easier.

He had even created a trampoline for Rinka to bounce on, making it so they no longer had to use the couch.

In fact his backyard had become so fun, that after Rinka invited a few friends to come play, news had spread fast, and soon enough all the kids were begging to come and play.

Just like that, their backyard became the most popular playground in the entire area, so much so that Minos was forced to expand so as to deal with the influx of children.

Of course he could have just told them no, but seeing Rinka having so much fun playing with all her new friends, he decided against it.

"Tinka, you're so lucky. Your husband is such a family man, nothing like my Daveon. Once he's done work, he heads straight to the bar, only coming home when he's completely drunk!" One of the mother's complained.

"Oh, I'm sure he's not that bad." Tinka said with a smile as she poured the woman a cup of tea.

Ever since Rinka had made so many friends, Tinka had become acquainted with some of the mothers, and soon enough, she had a small friend group of her own.

"Trust me, he is! Anyways, where's that husband of your's, I wanted to say hello." The lady said, secretly pulling out a small mirror from her dress and giving herself a look.

"He's at work, but he should be home soon."

Just as Tinka said that, the door swung open, Minos heading inside as he put up his coat on the rack by the door before taking off his shoes.

"Hello ladies, how are you all doing?" Minos said, walking inside the house.

"Oh, we're all doing fine!" The ladies quickly replied, some of them blushing as they averted their eyes.

Smiling slightly awkwardly, Minos gave Tinka a kiss before heading upstairs, not wanting to spend too much time with Tinka's 'friends.'

"How come your husband never comes and chats with us?" The first lady couldn't help but ask.

"Oh you know Minos, always busy with work." Tinka said with a giggle.
