Auxiliary Immortal

The world of immortal cultivation was always a grand one, filled with powerful swordsmen who could cut planets in half, divine doctors who could bring the dead back to life, and naturally the beautiful female cultivators who's single glance could stop the hearts of thousands of mortal men. Unfortunately for Minos, a poorly talented handy-man disciple of the Green Barrel Sect, that was a life he was destined to never know. That was until he figured out he actually was talented, though not in the conventional ways!

"All I know is that I want nothing to do with her, so let's stop talking about that and try to find an escape." Minos said, not wanting to ruin his good mood thinking about Lilia.

"Fair enough, let's get to work then." Potin replied.

The two proceeded to head room to room, a bit uncomfortable as they saw the corpses that filled each room, the two of them being the only ones left alive by now.

"That old man is gruesome, his death feels a little more satisfying now." Potin said, as he took big steps to avoid bloodying his shoes.

"His methods are a reflection of the Aleph Empire at large, so you should probably keep your guard up if ever interact with someone from there." Minos replied.

"Good point."

After traveling to each room, Minos figured out they were all seemingly laboratories, but each had different devices inside, the only one with the DNA Extraction Pod being the one Minos had first gone to.

Honestly, Minos already knew how to escape, but he wanted to inspect the place first, not to mention remove the blood mark.

He also wanted to make it seem more believable to Potin, because while he trusted him, he preferred if he kept his suspicions at a minimum, just for the sake of their friendship.

After sending Potin off to keep searching the room, he went back to the library, using this time to not only read up on the books he couldn't absorb with his Omniscient Eyes, but also figure out a solution for his blood mark.

Giving the blood mark a glance with his Omniscient Eyes, he figured that a blood extraction would suffice, but while it sounded simple enough, it was actually an incredibly intricate procedure.

Fortunately, Minos had already had the perfect operator on hand, so he quickly made his way back to the DNA Extraction Pod before activating it, allowing the needle to burrow into his forehead.

With his Omniscient Eyes, he knew exactly where Lilia's blood was hiding, so by positioning himself precisely, he had the needle land in the perfect spot.

After the needle stabbed in deeply, it quickly absorbed Lilia's blood up, the machine whirring as it activating at full force, decoding Lilia's DNA.

While it did that, Minos double checked to see if the blood mark was gone, soon relieved to find it completely removed.

With the final weight off his shoulders, Minos truly felt free for the first time since he had met Lilia, though he knew as long as she was alive, danger was always lurking.

Shaking those thoughts out of his mind, he focused back on the machine that flashed a green light before showing a text.

Just a few hours ago that text was completely foreign to him, but now he understood it at first glance.

'Success! DNA Information downloaded.'

Among the information Minos had downloaded from the library was an operating manual for this device, which the Lukalu called a Compo.

A Compo is a complex algorithmic machine capable of all sorts of advanced calculations, and it was the cornerstone of Lukalu civilization.

This was a special DNA Decoding Compo, a Compo specially created for dealing with complex genetic information.

After hitting enter on the Compo's keypad, Minos scrowled through the dense list of genetic code that spanned thousands of pages.

This information was far too complicated to be processed by a normal mind, which again was where the Compo came in.

By typing in a few lines, Minos could immediately find any piece of genetic information he wanted, from eye color to skin color, and everything in between.

Of course while Minos had downloaded a massive amount of Lukalu information, which included a large amount of genetic engineering studies, he still had yet to absorb it.

It was all there in his brain, but he still needed to go through and understand the details of it, which even with his incredible intelligence, would take a while.

So for now it was better to just burn all the books in the library into his brain, before finding a chance to understand them in the future.

The biggest problem was the machines themselves, Minos not being able to remove them from their current locations, meaning he'd only really be able to use them as long as he stayed here.

He didn't want to take any risks, so he'd prefer to leave as soon as possible, but before that, he'd ideally like to come up with a solution.

Removing the machines alone wouldn't be too hard, but it was the power system that Minos was struggling with.

Unless he could understand the Lukalu's peoples energy systems and how to recreate them on his own, then taking these machines would be no different then hulling around a large piece of metal.

Had he been anywhere else such a task would be impossible, but right now he was surrounded by the Lukalu's people's life long collective wisdom, the doors to learning swung wide open for him.

His thirst to learn had never been so high, so after giving the DNA Extraction Pod one more glance, he headed back to the center room and continued reading up on the advanced textbooks.

With Minos's perfect memory, it only took a couple hours to burn the last large books into his mind, having now reached a point where he could say confidently that he memorized everything here.

With everything stored in his mind, it was time to finally sit back and truly understand this information, the first book he chose being called 'Energy Systems - Beginner Edition.'

Beyond the beginner edition, he also had the intermediate and advanced edition, among hundreds of other books that also taught about energy.

'Energy Systems - Beginner Edition' was a good comprehensive guide, but if Minos truly wanted to understand the Lukalu people's energy mastery he'd have to read and understand all the other books as well.

It was no simple task, even for him, but his split souls allowed him to study seven books at the same time, and his Mind Lock further bolstered his thinking speed such that he could learn things at an accelerated rate.

His Omniscient Eyes also seemed to give Minos a boost, and while it was hard to say how, it was like as long as he had them, everything could be understood.

In terms of cultivation, it was like he had no bottlenecks, able to break through immediately as long as he was strong enough.

All he needed to do was learn, and with it, understanding would come naturally, like water through a river.

This was a hidden ability of his Omniscient Eyes, a more subtle reflection of its incredible power.

In the past, even after learning something, he still had to fail time and time again before the information was truly comprehended, like when he had first learned how to refine weapons, talismans, and puppets.

But nowadays, he had a feeling that if he went back to those things with his Omniscient Eyes, he would have succeeded on his first attempt, no longer needing that long stage of failure before reaching success.

He had always been a scholar at heart, but even he knew that learning everything was naturally impossible, but with this ability, maybe he could turn that impossibility into reality!

Such a thought just further motivated him, so without wasting any more brain cells on daydreaming, he jumped fully into his studies.

Each book only took him an hour or so to fully comprehend, which meant he was mastering seven books with every passing hour, which was incredible.

With such speed, Minos went from understanding nothing about the Lukalu's people's energy technology, to being considered a master of it in only a few hours time.

The Lukalu people split their energy into three levels, the first level was the weakest, and consisted of using some more simplistic refining methods with natural ores and gasses.

Their second level energy technology was more advanced, with more refined machines capable of extracting and utilizing energy at a much higher efficiency.

Finally, their third level energy technology used what they called 'Nux Liquid,' the same stuff Minos had used to break through.

Using a special machine they called a 'Nux Extractor,' the Lukalu could slowly absorb the Nux from the surrounding and condense into a liquid, which was a tremendous source of energy, and the backbone for most of their advanced machinery.

From what he had seen, this was the peak manifestation of the Lukalu's people's understanding of energy, though whether they still had some even more advanced tech hidden somewhere else was a mystery.

But for now, a Nux Extractor was more than enough to power all the machines here, so as long as Minos could figure out how to create one, he'd be set.

However this was a skill of engineering, rather than energy, which meant he now had to learn a completely different field, pretty much setting him back to square one.

It just went to show how interconnected all of the Lukalu's people's understanding was, and how knowing one field alone wasn't enough to manifest their power.

Through this alone, Minos knew that the Lukalu were likely a highly social and unified people, capable of coming together to complete grand tasks.

Fortunately, Minos had his Omniscient Eyes along with all his other boosts, giving him the ability to master a civilization's wisdom with one person alone.

Of course complete mastery was still a distance, but the framework was there, so again, Minos threw himself into his studies, now focused on the engineering side.

To understand the Nux Extractor, Minos first had to start from the ground up, deciding to start with the simplest book he had on mind.
