Mara, now weaponless but unfazed, leaped back and thrust her hand forward, summoning a glowing spear of pure energy from the air itself. With a fierce cry, she hurled it at the shadowy figure. The spear pierced through the veil of darkness surrounding him, causing the tendrils to momentarily recoil as the cavern shook once more.
The man's composure wavered, his body flickering more visibly now as if it were tethered by an unseen force. "You may think severing my connection to the Abyss will weaken me," he hissed, his voice distorted by the Void's resonance. "But you've already fallen into its trap."
