The little girl, who had eaten her fill, had quickly fallen into a peaceful sleep. One of the family members gently took her in their arms, letting her rest comfortably. Lu Sheng felt a quiet satisfaction as he watched the laborers, their faces reflecting contentment, though their eyelids drooped with the weariness of full stomachs and exhaustion. He knew they too were holding back sleep.
"Let's go," Lu Sheng said, standing up and stretching. "Let's complete the transaction."
The laborers stirred, pushing themselves to their feet, and followed him toward the Clan Manager's seat. As they reached the room, Lu Sheng spotted Lu Man, along with Tu Peng and his little sister, Tu Rong, waiting for him. A smile spread across Lu Sheng's face as he saw the siblings.
"Young Master, where have you been?" Lu Man asked concerningly.
