29 City of Alora

Since it was around noon, Seth headed directly toward the first city that he saw. Rim turned into a ball and hitched a ride in Seth's pouch.

Notice: Mirror Shade is active. Notice, the user is ready to enter the city.

"Does Rim get hidden as well?"

Notice: Since Rim is an affiliated pet, his stats will also be balanced by Mirror Shade when someone looks at your status page.

"Oh, so does he even need to hide in my pouch?"

Notice: It should be best to let him hide in your pouch for now.

He looked at the city again and saw a very giant tree in the middle of the town.

(What is that? Why is it so huge!)

Seth ran to test out how fast he truly was and within seconds he was already at the city's border where he stopped.

(I should just walk now to at least get by unnoticed.)

Seth went onwards toward the main road and saw that there aren't many people walking to get inside the city, mostly ones that have some cart drawn carriage.

"Businessman, I see. Quite typical for a fantasy trope game."

Although he only saw some people earlier, the closer he got into the city, the more he can sense other kinds of races besides humans.

"I still can't believe that this stuff is happening right in front of me now. Okay, If everything fails during my journey or I somehow get traumatized by a stupid ancient dragon again, I'll just get myself an elf girl or a cat girl and live a normal married life."

Seth finally walked up to the gates as some pointed-eared human-like people in armor greeted him.

(Elves! Finally! Wait, Why are they in the Desert?)

Notice: This must be the City of Alora. An Elven city in the country of Carabis.

"I expected them to be deep in the forest. Hmm... So that explains the giant tree in the middle of the city."

Notice: Since only the country of wishes accepts inhabitants of other races, they cannot go further than the Desert plains of Carabis which cover the whole country. There is also a pier near the coast of the country where they exchange goods with other countries on the other continent.

(I can't believe you are such knowledgeable on this stuff even though I barely read it in the library back in the guild.)

Notice: The system, Uriel, always keeps tabs on everything that the user does, reads, and hears around them. Murmurs from other people are a common source of my knowledge back then in the city of Panos.

"I guess our main goal, for now, is to go to the guild and see what's up with this city."

Seth finally arrived at the checkpoint for the city. An elven soldier asked for his reasons for entering the city.

"Where is your merchant pass? Are you here to just visit the city?"

(Does the pass that Lady Alice gave me back then work here? I believe I have it in my pouch bag.)

Seth handed him the pass that Lady Alice gave him.

"I'm just here for a visit... I'm a wandering traveler you see."

"A royal pass from the Holy Kingdom. Hmm... Well, since you are just here to be a tourist then I suggest you get a tourist pass. Wait, we can process one for you here in the Guard House. Come with me."

Seth went with an elven guard to process his tourist card. Inside the guardhouse was a lizard man holding a cane.

(Oh, so there are some other races here.)

Notice: Although the majority of the city are elves since this is an elven city, a lot of other races also reside and come here.

After a couple of minutes of asking for his name and his whereabouts, the tourist pass was finished and he was allowed to get inside the city.

(Phew, I haven't lied in a long while. Well it's not as if everything I said to them were lies.)

As Seth entered the city, what greeted him were the specific hut-like structures made of clay as well as towering buildings made of plant-based material and clay foundations that stretched out from the roots of the giant tree. There was a long walkway that directly runs towards the middle of the city in which the big tree resides.

(Okay, first of all, I need to find a guild after I visit the big tree. But more importantly, Just one cat girl, please!)

Seth looked around as he walked toward the big tree in hopes to stumble upon a cat girl. There were a lot of other races he encountered ranging from lizard men to furry-covered individuals and yet he has not seen a cat girl in sight nor sensed someone of that nature.

(Werewolves, Elves, Lizardmen. There was even an Arachne-type race that walked passed by. I've walked passed some dwarves earlier as well who were part of the guardsmen. Why can't I see a cat girl?)

As he got closer to the tree, a water source that somehow looked like an indoor oasis inside the city enthralled him.

(So this lake that runs around the tree might be their city's life source, if I may say. Wait, what do other races see my race as, Uriel?)

Notice: Although the user ascended into a Godkin, the user is still deemed as a humanoid race.

Seth looked upwards and now that he got closer, he was in awe of how big this tree really was. There were bigger houses on the sturdy branches and stems of the tree as well, mainly where most of the elves are staying.

Notice: The system is estimating this tree to be 250 meters in diameter from the base and around 1 mile long.

(That big? I remember I read some stuff online and the tallest tree we got in my world was only around 100+ meters. Geez... How do they even manage to grow this?)

Notice: It is likely that this tree either grows through mana given, from other sources, or from a deep underground water channel beneath the city beside the oasis that was running around the big tree.

After that quick visit, although disheartened from not encountering a cat girl, he directly went toward the guild to visit the guild's library. As he got closer, he was seeing a lot of adventurers of different races that have distinct sub-specializations.

(LVL 45, Hunter. LVL 52, Ranger. LVL 39, Assasin. LVL 68, Berserker. LVL 61, Thief. Wow, there are a lot of stronger people here that I've seen compared to the Holy Kingdom.)

Notice: This city is the northernmost city in the Country of Wishes. They are the vanguard to fend off the monsters in the northern desert area of Carabis in which most monsters reside.

(It still felt kind of barren back when we were there. I guess although there are many, they just get into hiding since most of them are weak. Only the dune worms and a lot of sand dragons were the most notable ones. I was expecting most of the elven adventurers where rangers but since there is no forest, they pick whichever sub-specialization they want.)

"Good thing I didn't run into any of them when I was going toward the city."

As he got close to the guild, he sensed something. He opened the guild hall and what greeted him behind the desk was a feline race. But as he looked closer, he got disappointed and he whispered to himself.

"So they really do look like how I'd imagine them. Although this one is not a girl which saddened my heart."

The person behind the desk then asked him for his agenda in the guild.

"I came to visit the guild library."

"Oh, it's right over to the left."

(It's good that they offer the library for free to anyone and I don't need to register to the guild just like back then in the Holy Kingdom.)

As the sun was setting soon, Seth let Uriel on auto until the next morning.

(Uriel, take over. I'll just rest my mind for a while.)
