Your Reality Does Not Exist

The Entertainers

They were the overseers of the scenarios, belonging to the supreme planets. Their only goal was to regulate things on the planets where the scenarios were happening

They made sure that the beings of the supreme planet found some good entertainment.

They were similar to Bwitch or MeTube streamers except they were directly broadcasting people fighting for their lives or dying.

Perhaps I should have come up with a safer idea…

Suddenly, a big blue window appeared in front of my face. The video showed a six feet tall figure in a suit flying above the city.

'It' looked exactly like a human with long silky brown hair touching its neck. His eyes were responsible for distinguishing him.

He had bright pink eyes that seemed to be glowing like an anime character's eyes.

"So this is the new planet they chose. It isn't half bad I guess…" the Entertainer muttered. "Oh wait, we are already streaming? Why didn't anyone tell me that we were streaming?"

On paper, it didn't seem like anything was intimidating about this figure.

He could have been a normal person you met in your life if not for the fact that he could make your life hell with the snap of his fingers.

However, this wasn't the actual form of the Entertainers. In fact, I had no idea whether this particular Entertainer was a male or a female.

I simply referred to it as male due to its features.

"Ahem, all right. Humans of Earth. My name is BangKok and I am an Entertainer, which according to my knowledge is a new term for you. I will be the one overseeing something called 'scenarios' in a certain region of your city.

Many of you might be confused about this but don't worry, I am here to clear your confusion. Now if you will, please read the words in front of you." BangKok said in a smooth operator voice.

Following his words, another blue window appeared in front of me. These were the words that made blood rush through my body in excitement.

+

[ Scenarios are certain challenges handed out to the human beings present on Earth. Completion of these challenges will result in acquiring rewards while failure can result in things like mutation, slavery, death, etc.

In simpler terms, your life is now a game where the scenarios are the quests you will have to complete to progress further.

Entertainers will be responsible for overseeing the scenario taking place in your city. Make sure to follow their commands in order to survive. ]

+

"Now that is out of the way, let me tell you somethings. All of you have been handed out with a certain power, which should be available to use, for most of you that is.

Those who currently don't have any skill have either been handed a secret one that is too strong or one that is too weak to be of any use.

Second, all of you will have to take part in these scenarios and there is no other option. Third, the rules and laws of your world no longer exist. Your reality does not exist.

It's a free-for-all world where the strong may do whatever they want. That's all. The scenario will soon be updated."

Once BangKok finished his explanation, my breathing started to calm down.

Soon, the scenario window appeared in front of my face, indicating the beginning of the first scenario.

[ Scenario 1 has arrived ]

Taking a deep breath, I started reading its contents.

+

[ Scenario #1: An End and A Beginning ]

Objective: Get to the specified safe zone to survive the first scenario.

Reward: Upgrade system and the shop will unlock.

Consequence For Failure: None

Time limit: One week(two days free limit)

+

I knew these words. I recently read them and was also responsible for writing them.

The two-day free limit meant that no danger would appear in those two days. Once that time period was over, the real hell would begin.

I could remember the feeling that I was being a sadist when I was writing the scenes after the first two days were over.

The horrors of an apocalypse were best known to the person who was responsible for its creation which in this case, was me.

Right now I have two options in front of me.

The first one was where I lived in the Ballmart for an entire month and survived the first scenario.

As there were no consequences for failure, you could stay out of the safe zone and still progress ahead except you wouldn't get the reward.

You would have to complete separate side quests to receive them.

That would be quite the hassle considering the side quests weren't going to be easy and I did not want to delay the unlocking of such useful features.

Coming over to the second option, my eyes flickered over to the blue screen still present in front of my face.

+

[ Available safe zones:

1. City Center

2. XYZ University ]

+

The first safe zone referred to the actual central location of my city whereas the second one was the place

'This feels stupid at this point. The MC has everything handed out to him whereas I have to struggle.'

I grumbled at my own writing, wondering whether I could have made things less intense. But then it would have turned out to be quite boring.

As I was too immersed in my thoughts, I didn't notice the soft thudding voice around me.

"Did you just see that announcement?" Vin's voice suddenly entered my ears, pulling me away from my thoughts.

I was surprised to see her standing in front of me as I was not expecting her to stay for this long.

On her back, she carried a backpack like me. An air gun, probably taken from the section with hunting supplies, hung on her waist.

Even though an air gun was not that useful, it was still a formidable weapon I could use.

"I did. Looks like our reality just got overlapped with fantasy…" I replied in a fake dazed voice.

"Michael, would you believe me if I said that I know what will happen in the future?" Vin suddenly asked.

I was taken aback by this question. That was a bit unexpected.

Since the novel that had come to reality was my second novel, I wouldn't be surprised if many people knew the beginning.

But it was from four years ago so many might have forgotten about it. Also, not every reader reads till the last chapter.

As I mentioned earlier, only seven readers remained till the end of the novel. The amount of readers that read after a hundred chapters were published numbered between 30 to 40.

"How do you know that?" I asked the most reasonable question.

"I read about it…" Vin went silent after speaking those four words.

My suspicion turned out to be true. Vin was indeed one of my readers. The question was, how far did she read?

Though that didn't really bother me. What I was more surprised about was the fact that she revealed this to me.

Was I really that trustworthy of a person? No, I knew I wasn't. There was no way Vin didn't have another goal in her mind.

"And I think you read it as well." Vin suddenly spoke up.

"Huh?"

"Michael, how far have you read a novel called '#$*'?" Vin questioned, her eyes directly piercing my face.

Though she was surprised by the fact that she couldn't speak the name of the novel, she directly glared at me.

In the next instance, a golden window appeared in front of me, shocking me both by its color and the words written on it.

===

[Lie Detection] has been activated

===

I almost spat out blood like a young master from a cultivation novel. How the hell did someone get their hand on [Lie Detection] so early on?

Vin someone managed to obtain the skill.

Wait I just read the novel. Why wasn't it mentioned there? But then, no one was supposed to be at the supermarket in the first place, especially this early on.

Could our presence have created an anomaly?

A sinking feeling spread through my chest. But first, I had to answer Vin's question.

"Yes, I have read that novel a bit. In fact, I was wondering whether the novel came to reality." I replied in a slightly nervous tone.

A blue window appeared in front of both me and Vin.

===

[Lie Detection] has confirmed that the person is speaking the truth.

===

I internally sighed in relief after seeing that sentence. I didn't want anyone to know this early on that I was the author of the novel. In fact, this should remain a secret forever.

I also thought of the golden window that appeared earlier. If not for it telling me that Vin was using [Lie Detection] I might have said something wrong.

Normally, a person would have no idea that the other person activated [Lie Detection] unless they were in possession of a skill that could identify the activation of [Lie Detection].

A blue window would appear in front of both the user and the other person, telling whether the spoken words were a lie or a truth.

That was the first time the other person would get to know about the usage of this skill.

I couldn't help but think that this was related to my unique skill in some way.

"Then mind telling me how much you have read?" Vin questioned.

"I have read enough to obtain this."

With a smile, I raised my hand and summoned fire. [Lie Detection] was a mere D ranked skill that could be countered in the future. Its appearance surprised me a bit but that was all.

Vin blinked in surprise when she saw the ball of fire. Her surprise soon turned into confusion.

"What do you mean? How does reading the novel relate to obtaining that skill?"

"The carrot?"

Now it was my turn to be confused. This clearly showed that Vin didn't even read up to the 18th chapter as she didn't know about the carrot.

"What carrot?" she questioned.

"Before I answer that, tell me how you got that skill."

"I thought you said that you read the novel. This skill was described in the 18th chapter."

"Huh?"

Did I change the details of the skill found in the Ballmart before publishing it on Webnovel?

There was no way I changed such an important item. Even if I did change it, that would not explain how the golden carrot was still present in the supermarket.

Many questions were appearing in my mind and I had no answers for them. I couldn't even check the published version of the story that was present online.

"Vin, I think—

BOOM!!!

I had barely started my sentence when an explosion was heard. It came from the entrance of the Ballmart. With a grim expression, me and Vin exchanged a look.

I don't know why but I spoke the following words.

"Vin, I think we have a terrorist at hand."
