Now that I have found the protagonist, the only thing that I need to do is manipulate him. Manipulating someone takes a lot of time as well as patience. At this moment, since that old geezer had shown me some respect, the protagonist will probably think that I am someone important, which will lead him to believe that being friends with me will be better for him in the long run.

"I see that you have made an acquaintance, young master," said Alfred.

"I don't want people to call me a loner when I go to Paragon. So, I am just preparing for it beforehand," I said.

"They wouldn't dare," Alfred shook his head.

The initial group of metahumans did not have any individuals with the potential to be recruited by the Paragon, except Samuel. The second batch had three more candidates as well.

For the ones who are still wondering what his meta ability is. I will say it out loud. His meta ability is 'The Speedforce' as well. As I have mentioned, no one other than a Speedster can defeat another Speedster. Ice is not even an option anymore. Many Speedsters have already overcome their weaknesses.

"It's about time! The System will show up in a minute, right?" asked Ryuk.

'Yes, it's about time that I took action because the moment it shows up, it will be at its weakest. If I can weaken its growth progression even by a bit, I won't have to worry too much about it.' I replied.

I sneakily dropped a marble-sized ball on the ground. The ball was unnoticeable among the crowd of people. It slowly started to roll towards Samuel until it got close enough. It launched at him, and two mosquito-sized fangs dug into his neck.

Due to the increased pain resistance of a metahuman, he couldn't feel anything as it slowly reprogrammed the System and fell off on the ground, dismantling itself and turning into vapour to remove all the evidence.

"How much did you lower his attributes count?" Ryuk asked.

"Low enough to turn him into a genius level. I didn't want to lower it too much since it would ruin the fun." I replied.

NOW WE WILL START THE COMPETITION THAT WILL DECIDE THE FATE OF THIS NEW GENERATION! WILL THEY BE SCOUTED BY THE MAJOR FAMILIES, THE WORLD GOVERNMENT, AND PARAGON, OR WILL THEY BE AMONG THE UNLUCKY ONES WHO WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT YEAR?

Behind me, my uncle and Nolan were getting roasted by Melissa. She had blond hair, blue eyes and a great figure. She was wearing a black dress and a mask like everyone else.

"Fastest man alive? More like the busiest man alive! Do you know how many times I called you?" Melissa shouted at my uncle while Nolan laughed. "Don't laugh like you are any better! You are raiding every red zone that you can find! Do you even know how to rest or maybe hang out with your friends? Both of you are the same!"

"You should probably not get involved between them. She looks scary," Ryuk whispered.

'However, she has a point,' I said.

I mean, my uncle has never been in his home for more than two hours. That's how stressful his job is.

Behind them was a kid who looked almost like Melissa.

"Let me guess, that kid is her child," said Ryuk.

'No shit, Sherlock.' I shook my head.

If I wanted to alternate the whole story, I would need the help of a Kryptonian. So it wouldn't be a bad option to get to know her.

"At this point, you are pretty much a caretaker already," Ryuk mocked me.

'Shut up. I am only doing this because it has to be done. What if, one day, I lose my powers? The Speed Force can die. She is not immortal. Although, as her avatar, I can revive her as many times as I want, it doesn't change the fact that within that time, I will be left powerless. So, if I don't build up a stable group to help me during that situation, my death percentage will increase a lot.' I sighed. 'I just hope to lead a normal life after all this is over...'

Before I could step forward, the kid appeared in front of me in a blink of an eye.

'She is faster than I expected.' I thought.

"Nice to meet you, I am Sylvia Zor-El. You are the boy with the white lightning, right? Mom told me to make friends with you," said Sylvia.

"Now that is how an actual kid behaves," Ryuk commented.

"You can call me Ray. Nice to meet you as well," I said, ignoring Ryuk.
